00:00Hi, tested and tried, unveiling joy and victory through life's trials.
00:161 Peter 1, 6-7 tells us rejoice in this, even though for a little while you may have to
00:24experience grief in various trials.
00:26Even gold is tested for genuineness by fire.
00:30The purpose of these trials is so that your trust's genuineness, which is far more valuable
00:37than perishable gold, will be judged worthy of praise, glory and honor at the revealing
00:44of Yeshua the Messiah.
00:46In the powerful true words of J.C.
00:48Ryle, trials are intended to make us think, to wean us from the world, to send us to the
00:56Bible, to drive us to our knees.
01:00Tested and tried, unveiling joy and victory through life's trials.
01:06Want to know more?
01:08Hang around.
01:11Welcome, welcome to Lions Roar 3.8 Ministries.
01:16Amos 3.8 tells us, the lion has roared, who will not fear?
01:20The Lord God has spoken, who can but prophesy?
01:24My name is George Magalhães and we are an apostolic ministry with a prophetic teaching
01:29edge.
01:30It is our passion, our mission to reignite, equip and release Christ-like disciples both
01:35locally and globally.
01:37We do that through our itinerant ministry, but as well as providing with resources just
01:41like this one, to help you, to aid you in your God-given calling.
01:46Today we have a fantastic topic, a fantastic study, and that study is tested and tried.
01:57Unveiling joy and victory through life's trials.
02:01All right, bringing us to our main verse today.
02:05And I don't know why I put that roar there, but it's okay.
02:10Let the lion roar.
02:11All right.
02:121 Peter 1, 6-7.
02:16Now reading from the message version says, I know how great this makes you feel, even
02:21though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime.
02:26Fewer gold put in the fire comes out of it proved fewer.
02:31Genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine.
02:37When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display
02:44as evidence of his victory.
02:48Amen.
02:49Amen.
02:50Amen.
02:51All right.
02:52We've got a beauty here today.
02:53Hello.
02:54Hello.
02:55We got Prophet Sabrina with us, which happens to be my wonderful, lovely wife.
03:01All right.
03:02Just before she starts, before she starts, as I said at the beginning, we're talking
03:07about tested and tried.
03:11Tested and tried.
03:12Today's word will be a powerful study covered by our very own Prophet Sabrina.
03:24And as usual, I'll be adding my own insights as well.
03:27So first we will reveal a much needed context before diving into our study.
03:34Now in our study, we'll be highlighting four, four key favorable outcomes that result in
03:43being tested and tried using the life of Gideon in the Bible as an example.
03:50The first, the first key favorable outcome is victory in life's open book test.
04:00The second, experience closeness to God.
04:04The third, breaking through from glory to glory.
04:07And number four, faithfulness unlock the rewards of trials.
04:11All right.
04:12So in our study, we have reaffirmed how trials refine us and draws us closer to God.
04:20They bring victory deep in our faith and unlock the joy of trusting him in every challenge.
04:28So I encourage you today to join us, be expectant as we explore how being tested and tried,
04:35which usually doesn't preach well, but guess what?
04:38It's going to preach very well today, transforms us into vessels of his glory, just like Gideon.
04:46All right, let's pray and we'll get right into it.
04:51Go for it.
04:52Lord, we thank you for this wonderful word.
04:54We thank you that you've already, you've already gone into this place, into this time.
05:00You've already prepared every heart and every mind to receive this word.
05:04Lord, as we dive deeper into your word, we thank you for this study.
05:07We thank you for a deeper revelation and understanding.
05:11We thank you that your spirit of wisdom and revelation is already moving in and through
05:15us and that lives will be transformed as they listen, as we all listen and receive from
05:23your living word.
05:24In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
05:28All right.
05:29All right.
05:30Being tested and tried, right?
05:32It's an essential part of the Christian life.
05:36It testifies to our relationship with God, with our trust speaking loudly in our circumstances.
05:43What do I mean by that?
05:44Well, you know, when it's heat up, that's when you know where your relationship with
05:49God is, isn't it?
05:50It reveals both who we are, because that's when we, we, like I say, we know where we
05:56are in Christ and who we believe God is to us because it's in the trial that, that really
06:03speak louder when we can, we see God's hand at work and we're like, wow, you know, God
06:09is here for me.
06:10Who we believe God is to us.
06:13More importantly, being tested and tried brings joy.
06:17Yes.
06:18Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
06:19I don't know if people say that, actually people don't say that that often, but this
06:25is what I've experienced and yes, trials create joy.
06:31Now when we're talking about joy, I'm not saying happiness is a difference.
06:34I think a while back you did a teaching on joy and happiness and the difference between
06:41it.
06:42I forgot the title for it, but yeah.
06:44So yes, trials create joy.
06:47I'm not talking about happiness, but joy, which is eternal.
06:51We will unpack all that soon.
06:54It's like this quote from Rick Warren, the ultimate test of faith is not how loudly you
07:00praise God in happy times, but how deeply you trust him in dark times.
07:07Now, you know, I'll just give you a little, a little testimony, I wouldn't call it testimony,
07:14but something that really marked me and I didn't understand it back then when it comes
07:18to tested and tried.
07:19See, I remember there was a time in our lives where, when trials were so constant that we
07:24felt joy and I'm sure many of you have experienced this time where you're like, my goodness,
07:29I just finished one and I got into another one and to another one, when, when are we
07:33going to catch a break?
07:34You know, does that sound familiar to any of you?
07:38Right?
07:39So during this time, while, you know, while we were experiencing that, we attended a party
07:44a few, that was a few years back.
07:46It was a wedding.
07:47Yeah, it was.
07:48You remember then?
07:49Yeah.
07:50Again, because I, I did the main thing, so I didn't know you would remember.
07:54Yeah, it was a wedding.
07:55I still remember that time where we met another minister who was newly introduced to us at
08:00that time.
08:01So we didn't know him before and we began sharing our life experiences.
08:07And I remember I said to him in an almost, yes, pitiful way that there were too many
08:13trials and it felt like it was one after another, you know, he then smiled and replied, sister,
08:20what a joy.
08:21Man, I looked at him and I'm like, I did not expect that answer.
08:26You know, I expected a different answer, oh, sister, it's going to be fine, God's going
08:31to take you out.
08:32Maybe that's what I expected back then, but it was, sister, what a joy, praise God, though.
08:39I have to say, praise God that, you know, I may say that, that I got a godly response.
08:45This is a godly response that, you know, sometimes we get, oh, you're going to get there, you
08:50know what I mean?
08:52But it's very rare and, you know, it's very rare for you to hear someone say, what a joy.
08:58Because this is a person who understand that tested and trial brings joy, you know, it's
09:04that's a godly response, that's a biblical response.
09:06Truth be told, I did not understand his point of view until now.
09:11Well, I'm not saying now, now, but, you know, until later when I mature more.
09:17So today I want to encourage you all, I want to encourage all of us to rejoice in our trials.
09:23Although many aspects can be taught regarding tested and trial, you know, people, we can
09:28talk about why you're being tested and trial, why you're still going through it, why it
09:33happened, where is the root of it and all those things.
09:37We can, I mean, you can do a massive studies, but what I wanted to focus on is on the blessing
09:43that comes with it, right, on the result.
09:47All right, so what does tested and trial really mean?
09:51So I looked it up because we were going to do this topic today, this study, and I looked
09:57it up and I saw, first of all, there's two, I'm doing a little bit of a K,
10:04first of all, it's two things.
10:08Oh my God.
10:09Number one, tested.
10:10Number two, tried.
10:13Oh my goodness.
10:13And if you've been tested and tried, I think some of you will get that joke, who I'm trying
10:20to imitate here.
10:21All right.
10:21All right, let's keep going.
10:22Anyways, tested and tried.
10:25So what does tested mean?
10:27It means from a thesaurus point of view, it means examined, inspected, experienced, certified,
10:36reliable, tried, proven, faithfully tested and tried.
10:43What does tried mean?
10:45Now I'm talking, we are talking from a biblical point of view.
10:48That's right.
10:49Not from what the world considers it.
10:52It means time tested, judged, tried and true.
10:56Dependable, verified, tasted, investigated, faithfully tested and tried.
11:02Exactly the same thing.
11:04It actually means the same thing.
11:08Tested and tried refers to the process in which God allows or entrusts us with challenges,
11:18entrusts us like Job and so on.
11:23He doesn't come and say, oh, let me go and prickle George today.
11:27No, no, no, no, no, no.
11:28Compared to what some people think like, oh, God is, I'm going through it.
11:32I'm so bad.
11:33God is punishing me.
11:34No, no, no, no, no.
11:35That's not what I mean.
11:37So he entrusts us with challenges, hardships and trials to refine, purify and strengthen
11:44our faith, character and reliance on him.
11:48Now, this process is intended to develop perseverance.
11:52We've got several scriptures in the Word of God that talks about this spiritual maturity
11:57and deeper trust in God's promises, preparing us for greater purposes, molding us into the
12:04image of Christ Jesus and effectively refining our faith as pure gold.
12:12Now, someone wise said the tested and tried life is a testimony of faith purified through
12:20trials.
12:21Each challenge becomes the furnace where trust in God is refined like gold, leaving behind
12:30a dross of doubt and producing a faith that stands firm, bringing glory to the one who
12:37never fails.
12:39Perfect.
12:41Now, the following scriptures, you can look up yourself later on and you can study even
12:46more, but the following scriptures are just a few of the many in the Word of God that
12:51encapsulate this biblical principle, that tested and tried.
12:58That's, look up James 1, James 1, 2 to 4, Romans 5, 3 to 5, Proverbs 17, very important
13:09verse 3, Job 23, verse 10, Isaiah 48, verse 10, Psalm 66, 10 to 12, and James 1, verse
13:2012.
13:21Again, these are just some, there's many in the Word of God.
13:24It's a very big subject.
13:27Now, if we take Peter in the Bible, right?
13:30You know, he wrote letters of encouragement to the elect exile in 1 Peter 1, right?
13:37So basically there were certain people that was exiled because of their faith and they
13:42went to different, we can say cities, right?
13:45And he wrote letters of encouragement.
13:47The key word is encouragement.
13:48He encouraged the saints to be glad in the trials they were facing.
13:54So if we read, we read that in 1 Peter 1, 6 to 7 from the AMPC, verse 6 says this, you
14:04should be exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be
14:11distressed by trials and suffer temptations, verse 7, so that the genuineness of your faith
14:18may be tested.
14:19Your faith, which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold, which is tested
14:25and purified by fire.
14:28This proving of your faith is intended to rebound to your praise and be sorry to read
14:37down to your praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one
14:44is revealed.
14:45All right.
14:45So in the message version, and I think we heard this at the beginning, but I really
14:51liked the way they put it in the message version because it's very down to earth.
14:561 Peter 1, 6 to 7 says, I know how great this makes you feel.
15:01Even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime, pure
15:06gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure.
15:10Genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine.
15:16When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold that God will have on
15:23display as evidence of his victory.
15:27Amen.
15:28Amen.
15:28I love that version.
15:30Again, like we say, we both do things differently.
15:33So some of the verses he used is now I'm seeing this version.
15:38So I like, if you go up for a second, I like one of the last videos.
15:44It says that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
15:50That's a key point.
15:52His victory.
15:52So whatever tested and trial you're going through, you're not going through it alone.
15:58When you receive the victory, it's his victory.
16:01Why would he not be with you and walk you through to victory when it's his victory?
16:09I hope you get the point.
16:11Anyway, in today's study, we will be highlighting four favorable outcomes that result in being
16:17tested and tried using the life of Gideon as an example.
16:21The first one is, like we said before, victory in life's open book test.
16:26Second one is experience closeness to God.
16:29The third one is breaking through from glory to glory.
16:33And the fourth one, faithfulness unlocks the reward of trials.
16:38Now let's go to the first one.
16:41First one is key favorable.
16:43The first key favorable outcomes is victory in life's open book test.
16:49Well, let me start by stating that.
16:51How cool is it when God was talking to me?
16:56Let me say it like that.
16:57God was talking to me about it and he showed me something.
17:00And I said, man, that is so cool.
17:01Let me state that we have a test that has already been graded A+.
17:07What do you mean by that?
17:08Well, we have an open book test where we can take a reference at all times regarding any
17:16aspect of our trial.
17:17It's not like, you know, you've learned it all.
17:20You have to be perfect, George.
17:22You've learned it all.
17:23You have to be perfect.
17:23Now learn all the key things.
17:25Be perfect.
17:25Now go and take the test.
17:26No, you are going through the trial.
17:29You are in your test.
17:30You're sitting there.
17:31But you have an open book and you already received the victory.
17:34So you're already being graded, right?
17:37All you're doing is filling the blank while you're looking at what's already been set
17:42for you in the Word of God.
17:44Do you get the scenario?
17:45Is that how you say it?
17:46Scenario?
17:46You get the scenario?
17:48In the case where we do not know where to turn to find the answer, Holy Spirit, our
17:52teacher, points it out for us even in the exam.
17:55I don't know what to do, Holy Spirit.
17:57Oh, here's the answer.
17:58Turn to this passage.
17:59Then look at this verse, right?
18:01It's just a simple matter of asking and trusting that He is our shield and salvation.
18:08I mean, that's another thing.
18:09He's our what?
18:10Shield and salvation.
18:11The more trust you have in God, despite your qualification or frustration, the easier the
18:18test gets.
18:19Why?
18:20Because you are relying on God.
18:22So what you're doing is you're going to the teacher.
18:24I mean, how cool is that?
18:25You're in the test.
18:27You're looking at the teacher and you're saying, teacher, I don't know this answer.
18:30It's okay.
18:32We have a different type of test here.
18:33Turn to this page.
18:34This is the answer.
18:35You just need to take the pen yourself and write it down.
18:38You've already got an A+.
18:40I mean, there is no other easier test.
18:42Yes, you might be saying, but Sabrina, it's easy to give me a factual answers for tested
18:49and try.
18:49It's not easy to go through with.
18:52Not when you surrender.
18:53Not because when you surrender, that's why we talk about permanent joy that is eternal.
18:58Why?
18:59Because yes, you can see the problem is here.
19:01You're not like stupid, like you can't see that the problem is in front of you.
19:05It's not like you're denying that there is a problem.
19:07But you're looking at the teacher.
19:09The teacher is giving you the answer.
19:11And because you are assured of the answer that the teacher gave you, you know, you will
19:16get through it.
19:16You will pass.
19:17So you have this peace of mind that surpasses all understanding.
19:21Right?
19:21And because you have the peace of mind that surpasses all of the understanding, you have
19:25that joy, that contentment in you.
19:27I'm not saying you're going to be, you have happiness.
19:30You get it?
19:31Let's keep reading.
19:32Let's read Judges chapter six, verse one to nine in the AMPC version.
19:37We're going to talk about Gideon, the life of Gideon.
19:41Verse one.
19:42Well, the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord.
19:46We're giving you a context, right?
19:48And the Lord gave them into the hand of the Midian for seven years.
19:54How many years?
19:55Seven is a very key point.
19:57That's two.
19:58And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel because of Midian, the Israelites made themselves
20:04dense, dense, dense, not dense, dense, D-N-S, which are in the mountains and the caves and
20:14the strongholds.
20:16That's three.
20:17For whenever Israel had sown, what is up with my tongue today?
20:22Sown their seeds, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the East came up against
20:30them.
20:31Now let's read from verse seven.
20:35And when they cried to the Lord because of Midian, the Lord sent a prophet to the Israelites
20:41who said to them, just say the Lord, the God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt and
20:49brought you forth out of the, out of the house of bondage, verse nine, and I delivered you out
20:55of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all those who oppress you and drove
21:00them out from before you and gave you their land.
21:05So here we see the trials during this period for the Israel.
21:09They had been in this situation for how many, I say the key point, seven years.
21:13And finally, they remember that only God had the answer to this trial and they cry
21:19out to God.
21:20So God decided to use Gideon to bring salvation to the Israelites, a fearful man who, while
21:26the angel appeared to him, was hiding from the Midianites while beating the wheat, which
21:32is what they need to do for their food, a task usually done in the open so that the
21:38wind would blow over the chaff, which is a husk of the wheat, so that it's easy for
21:43them to collect it while they're harvesting for their food.
21:48But because he was so afraid, he would do it in hiding.
21:51And here we see in this context, what's happened is the angel of the Lord appeared to him and
21:56is watching him, right?
21:58Let's keep reading.
21:59Let's read Judges chapter six, verse 12, and then chapter six, verse 14 to 16 in the
22:06AMPC version.
22:07All right, verse 12.
22:08And the angel of the Lord appeared to him, like we said, and said to him, the Lord is
22:13with you, you mighty man of fearless courage.
22:18I know, I wonder how he will have thought about it, right?
22:21Continue to verse 14.
22:23The Lord turned to him and said, go in this your might and you shall save Israel from
22:32the hand of the Midians.
22:34Have I not sent you?
22:35Verse 15.
22:36Gideon said to him, O Lord, how can I deliver Israel?
22:39Behold, my clan is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
22:48Verse 16.
22:49The Lord said to him, surely I will be with you and you will smite the Midianites as one
22:55man.
22:55These are the key points.
22:57See here, Gideon understood that there was a trial.
23:01If you actually get a time to read Judges chapter 6, 7, and 8, you will understand and
23:07you will have a full scope of the whole story, which of course will help you more in understanding
23:13it.
23:13So we understand, he understood there was a trial, and he also understood he was not
23:18qualified.
23:18That's why he said, we are among the poorest in the clan, right?
23:22And you're seeing me, I'm already hiding.
23:25But in this test, God said, I will give you the solution.
23:29This is an open book.
23:32So God is effectively saying, trust and obey me, and you will walk in victory with an A
23:37plus grade.
23:39So tested and tried, there is a victory in life's open book.
23:45We will, we will unpack his life as we keep on going.
23:48So you guys would be able to understand how he walked into, sorry, how he walked in being
23:57tested and tried and how he, what required of him in order for him to receive the blessing
24:05of the test and try.
24:06Number two, experience closeness to God.
24:11Trials bring us closer to God.
24:14Now they are what I call face-to-face encounters with the reality of the Almighty.
24:19Like we said before, you know, you know who God is when it's hot.
24:23You know, when all the situation around you is like, well, there's only one way out, and
24:27that is God.
24:28And when God comes through, you're like, whoa, God Almighty.
24:31It's funny that even so-called atheists, you see them driving and all of a sudden they're
24:36about to crash.
24:37What do they say first thing?
24:38Oh my God, oh God, oh wait, wait a second.
24:42I thought he didn't exist.
24:43All of a sudden God shows up.
24:47Hmm.
24:49So where his grace abounds and his love, which has been ever so present is displayed ever
24:55so brightly to us.
24:59When we experience that peace that surpasses all understanding, we come to a place to
25:03surrender and the joy of the Lord takes over.
25:06That's what we were talking about, the joy before we have contentment in trials, knowing
25:11that we are not alone.
25:12And God, whose word is yes and amen is on our side.
25:18See, let's reread Judge Judges chapter six, verse 14 from the New King James version.
25:24Can you read it?
25:24Okay, Judge Judges 614 in the New King James, then the Lord turned to him and said, go in
25:33this might of yours and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites.
25:39Have I not sent you?
25:42Well, for me, this verse is very touching.
25:44Why?
25:45Because as God told him to go with the strength he had, like George just read, go with the
25:50might that you had.
25:51I mean, how many times we like, oh, we can't do it.
25:54We can't do it.
25:55You know, this is such a heavy trial on us.
25:58We are not equipped to do it.
25:59You know what I mean?
26:00But what did God said to Gideon, a guy who was so full of fear, right?
26:04Go to go with your strength you had.
26:08This verse did not say qualify yourself first, but instead go and I shall qualify you.
26:14And many, many times in our life, because of the system of the world and how we've been
26:19brought up, we are like, you cannot work in this position because you're not qualified
26:25yet.
26:25Where the kingdom of God is like, you need to depend on God and he will qualify you.
26:31Where you do not have the qualification, he will supernaturally qualify you.
26:35I mean, if you look at the Old Testament, you know how he had the Israel had to build
26:40stuff and all that.
26:41And the Bible said, God qualified them.
26:43You know what I mean?
26:44Even if it's a trial that will bring you into qualification, like in the life of Joseph,
26:51you know what I mean?
26:53God qualified.
26:54Even in the life of Job, with all the issues he went through, right?
26:58Because he went through in the end, understanding who God is, who God is to him as at the end,
27:05it's like, oh, now I know God.
27:06You know what I mean?
27:08God has qualified him for double portion.
27:11These are the goodness that comes out of trials, right?
27:15So he was drawing Gideon to him, encouraging him, right?
27:19Not putting him down.
27:20See, God is not in the business of putting you down or else he would not give you solution.
27:24Who gives you solution to put you down, right?
27:27God saw and knew who Gideon was.
27:30So you know how the angels came and said, oh, you know what I mean?
27:35You mighty man of valor, right?
27:38I'll tell you what.
27:39Most of us, if we were in Gideon, would say, oh, you're being sarcastic right now.
27:42I'm hiding.
27:43I'm doing all those things.
27:45You're saying you're a mighty man of valor.
27:47But that's not how God sees things.
27:49God knew who he was.
27:50And he encouraged Gideon to see himself, right, through God's eyes.
27:56Listen to Judges 6.22 in the New King James Version.
28:00Can you read it?
28:01Judges 6.22 in the New King James.
28:04Now Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the Lord.
28:09So Gideon said, alas, oh Lord of God, oh Lord God,
28:15for I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face.
28:19See, as the conversation between Gideon and the angel progresses,
28:24he became more reliant on God.
28:26That's why I said, please go and read Judges 6 to 8.
28:32And his speech pattern, if you start reading it, you will see there's a change in it
28:38from being coward to having boldness.
28:41It wasn't, oh, now the angel of the Lord talked to me and I'm bold.
28:45Do you understand, right?
28:47There was a progressive change in him, having the realization, wow,
28:53God is on my side.
28:54And we have to sometimes realize and not put ourselves down.
28:58Oh, you know, this person gave a testimony and suddenly the person realized
29:02not everybody is in the same level or the same understanding.
29:05God doesn't even talk to everybody the same way.
29:08I mean, God doesn't talk to me the same way he talks to George.
29:11But the result is there.
29:13His word is still applicable to each of us.
29:16Through test and trial, our faithful surrender and trust in God
29:20guarantees like Gideon, we will experience closeness to God.
29:26Number three, breaking through from glory to glory.
29:31Another good aspect of trials is that they usher us into breakthroughs.
29:38See, we are moving from glory to glory, both in our identity and the trials we are facing.
29:44Why?
29:46Because trials bring forth an awareness of pattern that is a reoccurring issue in our lives.
29:55For example, if you keep doing the same thing and the same thing keeps happening over and over,
30:00I mean, you will surely start realizing, oh my gosh, every time I keep doing, it's the same thing.
30:05So that trial will also show you that, hey, I need to be close to God.
30:09I need God to give me the answer so that I can move from glory to glory.
30:13The other thing that trials do is also show you where your relationship with God is.
30:22From glory to glory, even in our relationship with God, there is a change, there is a closeness.
30:29And even in the trial, I'll tell you what, babe, the first time you had to believe for something,
30:35it took you quite a bit of faith for it.
30:39Now, if I tell you to believe for the same thing, would it press on you heavily the same way as the
30:45first time? No, that's what Tested and Tried does, because you're going from glory to glory.
30:52Again, going back, in a way they highlight it so that when it comes to reoccurring issues,
30:57so that we can break through it and walk in the blessing of the word of God.
31:01It also brings forth boldness through Jesus Christ,
31:04and we start to experience our authority as children of God.
31:09Before you were drinking milk, like the Bible says, now you are a mature Christian,
31:13where you are standing and taking authority, understanding who you are in Christ, right?
31:18You will have more boldness and more assurance to cast out and say to that mountain,
31:23you know, move away from here. You will have more assurance. Why?
31:28Because of Tested and Tried. Before, you're like praying, Lord, let the mountain move,
31:32let the mountain move, let the mountain move. You've gone through that test,
31:35and you've got an answer from God. You're rejoicing. Another Tested comes, another Tried
31:41comes. You're not going, Lord, let the mountain move. You know what you did last time. You know
31:45how God came through for you last time. Now you're like, I'm telling you, mountain,
31:50I know that my God's word is yes and amen. Now move, right?
31:55It says that there's a big difference. In the case of Gideon, he went from
31:59threshing wheat in hiding to taking his first step by destroying an idol,
32:05which is in his own backyard. Listen to it from Judges 6, verse 27, from the AMPC version.
32:12Okay, Judges 6, 27, in the Amplified Classic.
32:16So Gideon took ten men from among his servants and did as the Lord has said to him.
32:22But because he feared his father's household and the men of the city too much to do it by day,
32:29he did it by night. See, we notice here that Gideon did
32:33what God told him at night because he feared his father's household.
32:38Then he became bolder and went from glory to glory. In Judges 7, verse 25, that's where we
32:46see he actually defeated what he was called to defeat, the Midianites. But listen to it anyway,
32:52from the New King James version. Can you read it?
32:55Judges 7, 25, New King James.
32:59And they captured two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeb.
33:03They killed Oreb at the Rock of Oreb, and Zeb they killed at the Winepress of Zeb.
33:10They pursued Midian and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeb to Gideon on the other side of the Jordan.
33:18Through tested and tried, boldness and transformation is breaking through from glory to glory.
33:27Amen. And finally, number four, faithfulness unlocks the rewards of trial.
33:36When we read the story of Gideon, one important aspect we notice is that he's faithful.
33:41Once he identified the Lord was with him, he did not rely on his feeling,
33:46even though he was fearful more than twice. I put in there more than twice,
33:49because he kept being fearful. And God said, go. And he goes, if you are fearful,
33:54you know what I mean? First he destroyed the idol at night. And then God is like,
33:59if you're fearful, take your servant to go with you. You understand he was still being obedient,
34:05even though he was fearful, he was faithful, right? So even though he was fearful more than twice,
34:11you know, he still did what he needed to do. He was fearful. So I would encourage you all
34:15to read from Judges chapter six, right to eight. Gideon's faithfulness started in his household
34:22where he built an altar for God before he was able to tackle the trials that Israel were facing.
34:32See, our times with God, our time with God brings the benefit from our trials.
34:39So what I'm saying is our times with God, when we are in trial, we will see that benefit comes
34:45out because of the trust and all those other aspects, key favorable aspect, as it will come
34:51out naturally, right? Not only that, like George was saying, there's that boldness in it that he
35:00then go and put an altar in his house. And what you do in your private time with God will reflect
35:07for what mandate God has for you to do during that trial as you represent him. Does that make sense?
35:16Sorry? In public. Yes, in public. All right, listen to it from James chapter one,
35:24verse 12 from the AMPC version. James 1, 12, Amplified Classic.
35:29Blessed, happy to be envied is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation.
35:37For when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive the victor's crown of life,
35:44which God has promised to those who love him. All right, through tested and tried,
35:52our faithfulness unlocks the rewards of trials. Again, if you're interested in diving deeper into
36:02this topic, I encourage you to go and check out those scriptures that we mentioned at the beginning.
36:08James 1, 2-4, Romans 5, 3-5, Proverbs 17, verse 3, Job 23, verse 10,
36:20Isaiah 48, verse 10, Psalm 66, 10-12, and James 1, verse 12.
36:28So in today's study, we highlighted four key favorable outcomes that result in being tested
36:35and tried using the life of Gideon as an example. The first one was victory in life's open book
36:41test. How cool is that, right? Open book test. Number two, experience closeness to God. Number
36:48three, breaking through from glory to glory. And number four, faithfulness unlocks the rewards
36:53of trial. I'd like to finish with this powerful quote from J.C. Ruhr. Trials are intended to make
37:01us think, to wean us from the world, to send us to the Bible, to drive us to our knees. Amen?
37:10Amen. All right, just before we start our second part of the program,
37:16if you're new here today and you heard this word, you're probably wondering, I've never heard
37:20Christian word like that before. Well, that's because most of the stuff that is said out there
37:25is a bunch of baloney. And I mean, rotten baloney. It's absolute garbage. Because that is not
37:32Christianity. Christianity is a person of Jesus Christ and he's real and he's alive. And guess
37:38what? It's very simple. You're not here by accident. It's a divine appointment. 1 John 5,
37:444 to 5 in the word of God tells us, for whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
37:50And this is the victory that has overcome the world. Our faith. Who is he who overcomes the
37:57world? But he who believes that Jesus is the son of God. John 3, 16 to 17 goes on to say,
38:06for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should
38:12not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn
38:19the world, but that through the world, through him, that the world through him, that is talking
38:27about Jesus Christ, might be saved. So what do you have to do? All right. 1 John 1 verse 9 is
38:35very clear. If we confess our sins and sins in the most basic definition is when we live our lives
38:42without God. You know, in all creation, we, humanity, were the only creation that God created
38:50in his image. Everything else, nothing else was created in his image but humanity. There's a
38:55reason for that. He loves you that much. And God himself is above all things, is first and foremost
39:03spirit. So we are not human beings with a spirit and a body and all that sort of nonsense. No,
39:08we are spirit beings beneath the image of God with a body for a purpose here on earth and a soul.
39:16So if you confess your sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us
39:23from all unrighteousness. What do I have to do then, George? Very simple. Look at the screen
39:30and you'll see that in Romans 10 verses 9 to 10 tells us very clearly that if you confess with
39:37your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead,
39:42you will be saved. Don't try to better yourself. Don't try to go out there and but you don't know
39:46what I've done. It doesn't matter. Come as you are. He'll receive you as you are. If you mean it,
39:52you declare it as I am speaking to you right now and you can hear my voice. Do the same thing.
39:57Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. Believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead
40:01and you will be saved. For with a heart man believeth unto righteousness and with a mouth
40:08confession is made unto salvation. Now it doesn't end there because in Titus 3 verse 5, Ephesians
40:132 verse 8, Acts 1 verse 8 amongst others, it goes on to say then he saves us. So you give your life
40:19to Jesus. Declare with your mouth out loud the Lord Jesus. Believe in your heart that God's
40:24raised him from the dead. You are saved from that moment forward. You belong to Christ Jesus
40:30forever and he saves you. But then it doesn't end there. He's got a gift, an amazing gift.
40:36Look what he says. By grace, through faith, the gift of God washing away our sins and giving us
40:41the new joy of the indwelling Holy Spirit. That is the very Spirit of God and you will receive power
40:49when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses telling people about me everywhere.
40:56What does that mean? He's got a spiritual gift. Once you've done your first bit and you can do it
41:04right now wherever you are, whether you're in your house, in your car, in your workplace, in your office,
41:09in your garage, doing workout, whatever it may be. Who cares what people think? He wasn't embarrassed
41:15to go on the cross for you on your behalf. Why should you be embarrassed? Call out to him right
41:21now. The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. If you mean it, declare the Lord Jesus.
41:29Call Jesus into your life. Call him. Repent of your sins. Choose to believe that God raised him
41:35from the dead. That is a gift by grace and you'll be saved by faith. And then invite him. We're going
41:44to do that together in a prayer. Invite the Holy Spirit to come and you will receive that joy of
41:50the indwelling Holy Spirit. What that means is he's going to come and baptize you with Holy Spirit.
41:55We call that baptism of Holy Spirit and fire. He'll come with fire. He'll come with weapons,
42:03spiritual weapons, tools, equipment to equip you as a soldier of God. As the word of God says that we
42:11are kings and priests, Christ ambassadors, living epistles, soldiers of the kingdom of God. So he
42:16comes bearing gifts because in the spirit world, there is a war going on between good and evil.
42:23And even though the war has already been won, that victory is being manifest throughout time.
42:29But which side you take, which side you land on, depends on you. Depends on the decision you make
42:37right now. So let's do it together. We're going to pray together. We're going to invite Holy Spirit
42:41to come to baptize us afresh. And he's going to come and some of you may feel some weird stuff.
42:47You're going to feel like a massive weight just lifted off you, like you're not feeling heavy
42:51anymore. Some of you are going to get healing and are going to receive healing. Others are going to
42:55be delivered from all the sicknesses and the nightmares you've been going through. Others are
43:01going to receive like a heat. Others are going to feel like electricity is running through your
43:06body. It's the very power of God. And others will start going, what is going on? What is that,
43:14George? That sounds like you're speaking Korean. No, it's a spiritual language. Hallelujah.
43:20It's a spiritual language. One day we'll go there and we'll preach in Korean. Amen.
43:25But it's not Korean. I don't think so anyway. No, it's not. I can't say actually,
43:29because I don't think it is. No, it's not. She's seen so many Korean movies. She'll know.
43:36All right. Lord, I thank you in the mighty name of Jesus. We are hungry and thirsty. And right now,
43:43as we pray together with our brothers and sisters, Lord, we say come. Holy Spirit,
43:48fill us afresh. Baptize us with fire. Let your fire fall. Your word says that our God is a
43:57consuming fire. Let your fire come and consume everything that is not of you. Set us on fire.
44:04Set us alight that the world will come and watch us burn for you, Lord. We say revival. We speak
44:12revival in and through us. And we thank you from this day forward that our lives will be spent
44:21for you. Yes. In Jesus name. Amen. And amen. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Congratulations.
44:30Heaven rejoices over you. I encourage you. We encourage you. Get connected with a Bible
44:36teaching Holy Spirit filled church. You need a community of believers around you in person.
44:42That's so important. The Bible talks to us about that. If you can't do it in person,
44:46because there are countries out there in the world now that are going a little bit loony and
44:50well, it's the devil. He knows his time is running out. So he's putting a lot of pressure.
44:54Nevertheless, there is churches online. You can get connected with the church online as well.
45:00Community. And if you need help, you can send us an email. As you can see on the screen,
45:05you can send us an email. We'll do our best. Let us know where you're at, where you live. And we
45:09can definitely look up a church that can help you and guide you and provide that safe environment
45:17for you to grow, for you to serve, to be served, for you to grow in that relationship and in the
45:22word of God. Amen. Amen. And if any of you, you know, not any of you, I'm sure you guys have been
45:29blessed by the message today. I would really encourage all of you to see all those social
45:36media out there, you know, evangelize. You can't go out and evangelize on the street. That's another
45:41form of evangelism is to share the gospel in every means that there is. Right. So share it on your
45:48Facebook. If it's blessing, it's a blessing onto you. We are meant to be a blessing onto others.
45:54Bless others with it. Right. If you know someone needs help, you will see we have a website. One
45:59of them is a website, right? Yeah. It's on the screen. Right now. Yes. So you got the website
46:06down here, right? You got the website. Share it, you know, encourage other people. If it's not
46:14from this message, we have tons of message. If I can say it in that way, in that English,
46:20there's tons of message online that will be a good encouragement for you guys. Listen to it.
46:26You know, guys, the more you remain in the word of God, right? The more what you will manifest is
46:31the glory of God, the presence of God and life because out of our mouth shall come out life.
46:37And what you're taking is what comes out. Amen. All right. So before we go on to a second part
46:42of the program, which is called The Collective, where we spend time praying, prophesying,
46:46whatever the Holy Spirit leads us to do. And I encourage you, if you have specific prayer
46:50requests, write them down already on the Facebook live chat section. But before we do that, just
46:56before we do that, I encourage you, if you were blessed by this word, type in right now, because
47:00that will help improve the algorithms and all that sort of stuff that goes behind the scenes so that
47:05this video gets seen more and more throughout the world. Type in, if you were blessed by this word,
47:11test it and try it. Type in. Amen. Amen. All right. This brings us to The Collective.
48:11Amen.
48:41Amen.
