00:00Ladies and gentlemen, this match is set for one fall, making his way to the ring area
00:09from Marietta, Georgia, at 239 pounds, the Candyman, Brad Armstrong.
00:10In the ring, his opponent from Encino, California, at 249 pounds, Brian Carr.
00:24Brian Carr and the Candyman, Brad Armstrong, here on World Championship Wrestling Fans.
00:29Brad Armstrong had a few words to say to you fans before we went on the air.
00:32Let's hear his comments right now.
00:35Ladies and gentlemen, my name is the Candyman, Brad Armstrong, and how sweet it is to be
00:40back in the NWA.
00:41I want to thank everybody for their support.
00:43It's been super.
00:44You've been behind me 100%, and I want to be there for you 100%.
00:47I got a big month coming up in the month of September, and I want you to be right there.
00:50I'm going to be right there for you.
00:53Very personable young man is Brad Armstrong, and of course, his brother Steve, his father
00:58Bullet Bob, along with Tracy's mothers, will take on the three Freebirds, Bob, this Wednesday
01:03night, the class of champions, in what should be a very exciting six-man tag team event.
01:07Jim, that's one of the most outstanding cards of professional wrestling that we've ever
01:12seen.
01:13It's going to be live, as you say, right here Wednesday night on CBS, and talking about
01:17that, Brad Armstrong, the Candyman, will be teaming with Tim Horner, and they'll be going
01:22against a tag team that I know absolutely nothing about, the Master Blasters.
01:26We will be taking a look at the Master Blasters a little bit later in the program in a special
01:30feature.
01:31Brian Carr, rough and tumble individual, being punished to have the side headlocked.
01:36Nice chain wrestling moves by Brad Armstrong into the arm bar, and Carr goes to the path
01:42of least resistance, Bob, goes to the ropes.
01:45That's to the ropes, and when you get to the ropes, that's about the easiest way you're
01:47going to be able to break a hold at Armstrong.
01:50I tell you, the great athlete that he is, and the type of person that he is, he breaks
01:55and backs away.
01:56Not many times do you see that happen to a professional wrestler.
02:00Brian Carr now, showing some offense with some big forearms on the back of the neck
02:04of Brad Armstrong, and he sends the Candyman to the far side, catches him with the elbow
02:08coming off.
02:09Both these men are obviously in excellent condition.
02:14Brian Carr would like to carve out a victory right here, but the Candyman just kicked the
02:20taste right out of the mouth of Brian Carr.
02:22Well, any time that you see the Candyman Brad Armstrong in action, Jim, you know that he's
02:27going to be giving 110%.
02:29He likes an up-tempo match just like this one is.
02:31He goes all out from the opening bell.
02:33Big right hands by Armstrong, putting down Carr here on World Championship Wrestling.
02:38Nice standing drop kick by Armstrong, and Carr all the way outside there.
02:47Fans, this week, World Championship Wrestling on tour.
02:51The tour will begin tonight in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Coliseum, the Greensboro
02:55Coliseum, also in Dothan at the Alabama Civic Center.
02:59Then tomorrow night, Knoxville at the Civic Coliseum, Jekyll Island, Georgia Convention
03:04Center.
03:05That's just the beginning of what's going to be an outstanding week of World Championship
03:09Wrestling on tour.
03:10We'll be telling you fans a little later during this hour about some of the other great places
03:14World Championship Wrestling will be.
03:16Brian Carr finally makes his way back into the ring.
03:19Armstrong, nice single-leg pickup by the Candyman.
03:22Drops the elbow right across the thigh muscle, trying to knot up the quadricep muscle there.
03:29Jim, we talked about Wednesday night, 8.05 Eastern Time, right here on TBS, Clash 12.
03:36You know, you and I have been around for all of the Clashes, but I think I can honestly
03:40say that we have not had one that's going to top this one.
03:43This is an outstanding card from top to bottom with 10 great matches.
03:47Those are 30 top stars there, Bob.
03:48Two and a half hours of live wrestling action this Wednesday night at 8.05.
03:54From Asheville, North Carolina, and Armstrong continues to work on the leg, consequently
04:00lessening the mobility of Brian Carr, who's a very agile competitor.
04:05Now, Carr is also a big one, Jim.
04:07He's a very muscular individual.
04:08He's got to be strong and powerful with that upper body that he's got, that chest, those
04:13tremendous arms.
04:14So he's got to be a powerful individual.
04:16Armstrong is, I think, doing a very wise thing to get him off his feet, get him down to the mat now.
04:21Brad's got him tied up there.
04:22Nice shot there.
04:23Our camera's taking him right inside the ring.
04:26Randy Anderson, the referee for this contest.
04:29Bob, another big national television taping coming up Monday night.
04:32We'll be back in the Georgia Mountain Center in Gainesville at 7.30 starting time for the
04:37tremendous lineup of the fans in the Gainesville and North Georgia area will join us Monday
04:42night, beginning at 7.30.
04:44Well, and then on Tuesday, we're going to be in Columbia, South Carolina.
04:48That's a township auditorium in Columbia.
04:50And then, of course, Wednesday, as we say, that's the big night, the big night of the
04:54week.
04:55Live action.
04:57Two and a half hours of it right here on TBS.
05:00The Clash of Champions.
05:04Armstrong continuing to work on the leg of Brian Carr.
05:07Brad Armstrong, as we have said, a second generation wrestler, very proud of the legacy
05:12established by his father, Bullet Bob Armstrong.
05:15Bob will be wrestling again here on TBS for the first time in a long, long time Wednesday
05:19night as he will join Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers, better known as the Southern
05:23Boys, to take on Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin, and Buddy E. Lee Roberts.
05:29General Buddy E. Lee.
05:30How about that?
05:34Brian Carr makes his way to the ropes and Randy Anderson calls for the break.
05:37Armstrong gives him a clean one.
05:39Brian Carr showing the residual effect of that punishment.
05:43Take it on the leg.
05:44Nice.
05:45Duck under and a single leg pickup by Armstrong.
05:47Drops the arm and his body weight right across the leg again.
05:52Smart move.
05:53Armstrong saw he had that leg hurt.
05:54He went right back to it again, Jim.
05:56Fans, later in the program, the World's Heavyweight Champion, Sting, will take on
05:59Sheikh Ali Shekhar.
06:02Mean Mark is here along with Pauly Dangerously, the Steiner Brothers, in tag team action here.
06:07Plus, Lex Luger, the U.S. Champion, in a match as he will prepare to wrestle Ric Flair
06:12Wednesday night for the U.S. title.
06:14We'll also hear from Ric Flair, Sid Vicious wrestling in the program, that special feature
06:18on the Master Blasters.
06:19Plus, we'll be talking to Sting, time permitting, a little bit later in the program.
06:24All of that, fans, during this hour.
06:25It's just an outstanding hour.
06:27You don't want to miss a single bit.
06:28I got to thinking when I was looking at it and you were talking about it.
06:31Here we're talking about Luger and talking about Sid Vicious.
06:34Both, Jim, going to wrestle here on this card.
06:39Side Russian Leg Sweep.
06:41Armstrong holds him down.
06:43Very convincing victory for Brad Armstrong.
06:46The Candyman Brad Armstrong is your winner.
06:50Fans, we're going to hear from the Freebirds in just a moment, but let's take another look, Bob,
06:53at the closing moments of this with Brad Armstrong making a great offensive move.
06:58He did, Jim, when he came off of the ropes, as you say.
07:01And when he got that side down to the mat, covered him for the count of 1, 2, 3 with a press.
07:07And there was no way that Brad was going to get out of that.
07:09The Freebirds are ready for this Wednesday night.
07:11And here are their comments.
07:16Wednesday night, get your face in the place.
07:18The place being right here on TBS.
07:21Mountain Madness Fall Brawl 2.
07:24You will see the fabulous Freebirds led by General Bud E. Lee
07:27against those phony Southern boys and bully Bob Armstrong.
07:31And I want you to understand, people, we have not one intention of coming to win.
07:37We're coming to embarrass you in front of the biggest audience ever.
07:41We will heal the sick and raise the dead, make the mothers go out of their heads.
07:54Welcome back to TBS, everyone.
07:55Jim Ross back with you here on the Wrestling Wrap-Up.
07:58Remember, the Wrestling Wrap-Up, the official publication of World Championship Wrestling,
08:02is on sale wherever you see WCW events.
08:05Well, this Wednesday night, the class of champion, Sting,
08:07will defend his World Heavyweight Championship for the first time on national television.
08:11And it will be against the mysterious Black Scorpion.
08:14The Black Scorpion's identity, a well-kept secret, no doubt about that.
08:18And he talked to us last week, but he's also had another statement that he has made recently.
08:22And we want you to hear that right now.
08:24These are comments from the Black Scorpion.
08:27Sting, how has your week been?
08:31Figure out who I am yet?
08:34No?
08:36Well, I didn't really think you would.
08:39I could tell you.
08:42But why?
08:44I want you to be scared.
08:47I want you to wonder.
08:49I want you to look behind you.
08:52Check in the closet.
08:55Check behind the bed.
09:03Oh, Sting.
09:05On the 5th.
09:07At Mountain Madness.
09:10We might both find what we're looking for.
09:14I'll tell you what.
09:17If you beat me,
09:19I'll tell you my name.
09:24If I beat you,
09:27it won't matter.
09:29Because you'll be in no shape to care.
09:35Enough for now, Sting.
09:38Think about it one more week.
09:41September 5th.
09:43Mountain Madness.
09:45I'll be waiting for you.
09:46Good luck, Sting.
10:16For the heavyweight championship of the world
10:18this Wednesday night, live here on TVF.
10:21Let's go back now to Tony Gilliam
10:22and the introduction of the champion's opponent.
10:26In the ring, his opponent from Baghdad, Iraq
10:28at 240 pounds,
10:30Sheikh Ali Shakar.
10:35Sheikh Ali Shakar
10:37from Baghdad, Iraq.
10:40Not the most popular guy
10:41at 4th of July picnics, I would assume.
10:43You're right at the moment, no doubt about that.
10:45And he brought in
10:46Jim over in the corner behind him.
10:48You're looking at the champion right there, Sting.
10:51While the Sheikh goes through his ceremony,
10:53let's hear these comments
10:55from the world's heavyweight champion.
10:59This Wednesday night, the clash.
11:01We're talking big time stuff.
11:03The Black Scorpion, I don't know who you are.
11:05Are you an ex-football player?
11:07Are you really from my past?
11:09Are you considered one of the Four Horsemen?
11:11I don't know and I don't care!
11:15The champion basically doesn't care
11:17who the Black Scorpion is
11:19and Wednesday night,
11:21the champion of the world will put his title
11:23on the line for all you fans to see
11:25for the first time ever on national television
11:27this Wednesday night against
11:29that Black Scorpion.
11:31I started to mention earlier, Jim,
11:33that the Sheikh brought a piece
11:35of carpet in, into the ring
11:37over into the corner.
11:39A little ceremony, I don't know whether he was
11:41facing Mecca or what he was doing there.
11:43I don't know what kind of a ceremony he was going through.
11:55Whatever it was, I don't think Sting has a lot of respect for it.
11:59Sting is a reputed American
12:01and the actions that are going on right now
12:03with our brave soldiers in the Far East
12:05representing the United States of America
12:07and our best interest.
12:09Sting, you can bet, is standing right beside
12:12the men and women that are serving our country
12:14as Sheikh Ali Shekhar.
12:16He must have got into the country
12:18before all the upheaval there.
12:20Yeah, and I think he probably
12:22doesn't want to go back over there either, Jim.
12:24Talking about the world champion, here he is,
12:26Ben Sting, 6'2.5",
12:28251 pounds,
12:30United States, California,
12:32who has just electrified
12:34the professional sports world.
12:36I don't know of anybody that has come
12:38onto the scene in recent years
12:40that has had such an impact on a sport
12:42as he's had on professional wrestling.
12:46Sting with the advantage here of the wrist lock,
12:48now the collar and elbow tie-up.
12:50Nice reversal by Sheikh Ali Shekhar.
12:52Requirement carry, taking Sting off his feet
12:54and taking the champion down.
12:56Put the champion right back up very quickly.
12:58And the man from Iraq
13:00using the hair for some momentum.
13:02Sting reverses.
13:04Good hip lock, taking the man from the Far East
13:06over and picks him up
13:08with the music.
13:10Clothesline!
13:12You know, Bob,
13:14it's hard to ascertain
13:16exactly what type of match
13:18we can speculate that we will see
13:20Wednesday night.
13:22We've heard those comments from the Black Scorpion.
13:24It's very hard to tell
13:26just how large this man is
13:28and what type of background he has.
13:30But it shows you the courage
13:32and the determination that the champion
13:34of the world has because he's really
13:36intimidated by just who the Black Scorpion is.
13:42Well, Jim, you're 100% right.
13:44And you know, when you think about it,
13:46the Scorpion
13:48who we are led to believe
13:50is from Sting's past,
13:52he knows something about Sting.
13:54He knows a lot about Sting.
13:56He knows what Sting has been doing,
13:58what's been happening with him,
14:00who he's been wrestling,
14:02what kind of condition and shape he's in.
14:05I've talked to all the guys in the dressing room.
14:07They don't know who the guy is.
14:09They don't know where he came from.
14:11It's a very mysterious thing.
14:13But again, you say it's the courage and determination
14:15that are part of this young man right here.
14:17He's not going to back down from anybody
14:19anywhere he's done.
14:21He's a great role model for all those little Stingers.
14:23Good shoulder block there.
14:25Back into the side headlock.
14:27And the champion taking over!
14:29Ali Shakar!
14:31Sting can go upstairs
14:33and the aerial moves.
14:35He can pound it out
14:37toe-to-toe, whatever it takes.
14:43Ali's a very athletic individual.
14:45He's got a tremendous amount of athletic ability,
14:47but he's also got size and power and strength
14:49in his corner too, Jim.
14:51As you say, toe-to-toe, he can slug it out
14:53or he can really up-tempo and go with it
14:55any way you want to go.
14:57Bob, the fans at Tulsa Oklahoma know Sting very well.
14:59He'll be there Thursday.
15:01Another big night of world championship wrestling
15:03and then Friday in Jackson, Tennessee
15:05and also in Amarillo, Texas
15:07on Friday.
15:09Ali Shakar with a chop there now.
15:11Choking Sting in the corner.
15:13Trying to take that shortcut.
15:15Breaking the rules now
15:17is the man from Iraq.
15:21Excuse me, but I was going to say
15:23I thought it was rather ironic as I was looking at
15:25Sting and in those tight spots
15:27you see that scorpion on there.
15:29We know of course that he's the master
15:31of the scorpion death lock,
15:33but then here comes the black scorpion.
15:35Somebody from out of the past.
15:37I wonder if the two scorpions have any really meaning.
15:39We won't know Bob until Wednesday night
15:41here on TBS.
15:43Near fall there.
15:45This Sheik Ali Shakar is a very talented individual.
15:47Quite obviously very versed
15:49in professional wrestling skills.
15:51As Sting blocks the Irish whip.
15:53A kick to the midsection there.
15:55And another.
15:57The Stinger goes downstairs
15:59and now choking Ali Shakar.
16:01Returning that favor in kind.
16:05Sends him for the ride.
16:07The Irish whip.
16:09Right into the corner.
16:13And now the heavyweight champion of the world
16:15with a championship defense
16:17live on TBS Wednesday night
16:19sets back with a scorpion.
16:21Sheik Ali Shakar
16:23doesn't want to give it up.
16:25The pain riveting through his body
16:27and that will be all.
16:29Ladies and gentlemen
16:31number one in the match tomorrow
16:33heavyweight champion Sting.
16:35Sting will be in the danger zone.
16:37Our excuser was in the Louisville Slugger
16:39last night.
16:41And here comes the Stinger Splash.
16:43Jim all the way across the ring
16:45with all of the force of the Stinger Splash.
16:47And the Sheik
16:49face down flat to the mat.
16:51And then the Stinger went for as we say
16:53the master that he is
16:55of the scorpion deathlock.
16:57It was all over for the Sheik.
16:59Still to come Sid Vicious, Lex Slugger,
17:01the Steiners, me, Mark and much more.
17:03And we'll be right back on TBS.
17:07Ladies and gentlemen
17:09this match is set for one fall.
17:11Making their way to the ring area
17:13Paul E. James is representing Houston, Texas
17:15at 319 pounds
17:17Steve McCallum.
17:21His opponent in the ring
17:23from New York City
17:25at 220 pounds
17:27Jason Knight.
17:29Jason Knight will take on Mean Mark
17:31but ladies and gentlemen earlier today
17:33Paul E. Dangerously had something to say.
17:35Does that surprise you?
17:37Listen to this.
17:39Yeah, all I'll need is just one hospital bed.
17:41That's all it's going to take.
17:43You see, every time Mean Mark Callous
17:45comes into the ring here on TBS
17:47it costs me that much more money
17:49than Callous' hospital bill.
17:51As for Houston, tomorrow night
17:53check out the Danger Zone here on TBS.
17:55It's the final words from the Black Scorpion.
17:57Paul E. Dangerously
17:59who will be hosting the Danger Zone
18:01this Sunday night here on TBS.
18:03Main event, 6.05
18:05starting time this Sunday night as usual.
18:07Mean Mark is
18:09quite an athlete, Bob.
18:116'9", 319 pounds.
18:13He's a way living individual.
18:15I tell you one thing
18:17if I had a date with him
18:19that's one date I would stand up.
18:21Well, you're right.
18:23He's a big monster
18:25and he's bad to the bone as they say.
18:27And Mean Mark starting out very quickly
18:29big overhand forearm there
18:31on Jason Knight, sends him for the ride
18:33misses that elbow, misses that clothesline
18:35and he got a little
18:37frustrated there and caught Jason Knight
18:39in midair like a small child.
18:41That big backbreaker
18:43and a modified
18:45power slam.
18:476'9", 319.
18:49The master of the hard punch.
18:51He's got that gloved right hand
18:53to use it very effectively, Bob.
18:55Well, he's going to have the advantage certainly over most opponents
18:57with the size, the power
18:59and the strength of that huge body of his
19:01and he certainly has it here
19:03on Jason Knight. Jim, we mentioned
19:05Wednesday night.
19:07What a great night it's going to be.
19:09The Clash of Champions, 8.05 live
19:11right here on TBS. The 10 great matches
19:13of the Asheville Civic Center and I tell you
19:15all our fans in Asheville can still get tickets
19:17to the big event there. Plus
19:19you want to mention this, you can hear it
19:21on the Wrestling Hotline too
19:23by calling 1-900-909-9900
19:25Lance Russell and Gordon Sully
19:27are good buddies to be
19:29on the Wrestling Hotline.
19:31Should be most entertaining for all of our fans
19:33on the Wrestling Hotline
19:35and Paul Lee's got
19:37Nick Patrick detained
19:39and Mean Mark just nailed
19:41Jason Knight with a chair.
19:43Now, Mean Mark's got this guy
19:45obviously
19:47he's bigger, he's stronger
19:49but he's got him outclassed, Jim.
19:51Why did he have to use the chair on him?
19:53No reason for that. He certainly
19:55had him outclassed. He knows
19:57I think it's certainly he feels
19:59it'd be a tremendous upset for Jason Knight
20:01to come back now and to beat Mark
20:03after Mark has pounded on him like he has.
20:07Why he wants to do that
20:09I don't understand it.
20:11Again, as you say, I think Paul
20:13dangerously has something to do with it.
20:15Look at this. Again, just pure punishment.
20:17Got him up in the air
20:19holding for the longest time
20:21and drops him back
20:23with that standing vertical suplex
20:25and Jason Knight
20:27has really been hammered
20:29by these high impact moves
20:31as good as
20:33cousin Murray out there.
20:35You're coming from about 8 feet up in the air, Jim
20:37with a move like that.
20:43Mean Mark
20:45certainly dominant at this juncture
20:47of the match. Nick Patrick having a few words
20:49with Mean Mark. I don't know
20:51I think he's probably falling on deaf ears.
20:55He's another one of the many
20:57power
20:59and powerful wrestlers
21:01down the NWA.
21:03Jim, we've seen it turn around in recent years
21:05that the Rawls are big, they're strong
21:07and they're powerful.
21:11Flying forward there.
21:13Close eye lock move
21:15by Mean Mark.
21:17Paul Eason struck him to use the heart punch
21:19overhand wrist lock.
21:25There's that heart punch.
21:27Jason Knight
21:29is a fallen knight
21:31here and now
21:33and nobody in wrestling
21:35comes off the top rope
21:37with any more velocity
21:39and any more devastation than this big man
21:41and his opponent
21:43over halfway across the ring.
21:47Such an agile athlete
21:49to be as big and strong as anyone down the rope.
21:51What a move
21:53walking the top rope.
21:55Mean Mark has devastated yet another opponent.
21:57Ladies and gentlemen,
21:59the winner of the match, Mean Mark Keller.
22:04We'll take another look
22:06at the heat seeking missile, ladies and gentlemen.
22:08Bob, this is a devastating move.
22:10Already he had put him down
22:12with a powerful heart punch.
22:14Jim, and there was no way
22:16that Jason Knight could get up from that.
22:18And then as you say, that missile off of the top rope
22:20with the elbow, there it is.
22:22Fans, the NWA main event comes up this Sunday night
22:24at 6.05. Here's Missy Hyatt to tell us about it.
22:28Hi, I'm Missy Hyatt. Join Jim Russ and me
22:30tomorrow night on the NWA main event
22:32at 6.05.
22:34Sting and Ric Flair will be wrestling.
22:36We'll also hear from the Black Scorpion.
22:38And I'll even have a new outfit.
22:40And we'll be back with more world championship wrestling
22:42right after this.
22:44Ladies and gentlemen, this match is set for one fall.
22:46Making their way to the ring area.
22:48From Memorial City, Detroit, Michigan,
22:50please make welcome and come on in
22:52with a 529 pound
22:54Rick and Scott Steiner
22:56The Steiner Brothers.
22:58The former tag team champions
23:00of the world making their way to the ring.
23:02In a few moments, we're going to hear
23:04some comments from Thunderbolt Patterson
23:06about the Steiners.
23:08Check it out.
23:10Wine me, dine me, Frankenstein me.
23:12That may happen to Watson or Derrick Rowe here.
23:14But right now, back up to Tony Gillum.
23:16Ladies and gentlemen,
23:18please welcome to the ring,
23:20a 529 pound
23:22Rick Watson.
23:24And coming from a 6 pound injury,
23:26a 319 pound
23:28Scott Rowe.
23:30As we said, ladies and gentlemen,
23:32the legendary Thunderbolt Patterson
23:34had some comments to make earlier
23:36regarding the Steiner Brothers.
23:38Let's hear this statement.
23:40This is a new day
23:42in professional wrestling.
23:44Now the Steiners,
23:46listen to me.
23:48The Steiners has the potential
23:50of being the greatest. I'm high on it.
23:52People, watch it.
23:54You ain't never seen where they
23:56they go in places
23:58that you couldn't even dream of.
24:00Just...
24:06It's quite obvious, Bob, that Thunderbolt Patterson
24:08still has his eye on the Steiners.
24:10He sees a great deal of potential in them
24:12and as we all do, I think we concur with that.
24:14Jim, I don't think there's anybody
24:16that has seen these two brothers
24:18wrestle either individually or as a tag team
24:20and really doesn't feel like Thunderbolt does.
24:22They have unlimited potential.
24:24Of course, they're former world tag team champions already
24:26but as young as they are,
24:28really their career is ahead of them
24:30at the moment and it's just unlimited
24:32as to where they're going to go.
24:34They're involved right now in a big feud
24:36with the Samoan SWAT team
24:38and the SS team would love to have an opportunity
24:40I'm sure, to be the world tag team champions
24:42as would all the tag teams in wrestling
24:44but for the Steiners to get another
24:46opportunity at Doom, the champions
24:48seemingly they're going to have to go through
24:50the SS team.
24:52Boy, that's somebody to go through.
24:54When you talk about power and impact wrestling
24:56the SS team is right up there
24:58with the very tops in the sport.
25:00Upside down the corner
25:02goes Snake Watson
25:04compliments of Scott Steiner
25:06shoulder breaker
25:10Steiners are the
25:12former residents of the
25:14great state of Michigan. They always enjoy wrestling
25:16in their home state.
25:18The thing that's so impressive about
25:20these two gym is they can really get in
25:22and wrestle with you. They were outstanding
25:24wrestlers in college. They were NCAA champions.
25:26They know what the ring is all about
25:28and they know how to wrestle it.
25:30But they're also big. Rick Steiner
25:32at 258 pounds, Scott at
25:34244, both 6 feet and above
25:36tremendous power and strength
25:38and stamina. All of that
25:40with the wrestling ability they've got
25:42I tell you it's almost an unbeatable
25:44combination when you put it all together.
25:46Big brother
25:48Rick there
25:50affectionately known as the Dog Face
25:52Gremlin, one of the big man's. Death Row
25:54to tag in at 350
25:56pound range and Death Row just scooped
25:58up Rick Steiner and slammed him.
26:00Death Row is a big powerful man
26:02very formidable opponent I can tell you
26:04as he sends Rick Steiner
26:06by the big man
26:08and a Steiner line took the big guy
26:10right off his feet.
26:12Well he didn't read
26:14all the credentials on Rick Steiner
26:16did he there Jim? He had a few of them
26:18but he certainly missed that one.
26:20Straight right hand by Rick Steiner
26:22and now he's got the
26:24can he get him up? Can he do that?
26:26I say he can. He's got him there.
26:28Over 350 and he slams him.
26:30Wow.
26:32That strength ladies and gentlemen
26:34That is a strong man you're looking
26:36at right there.
26:38Jimmy turned
26:40around to Scott and said hey man
26:42after that come on in now it's your
26:44turn.
26:48Scott drops the elbow on Death Row
26:50still to
26:52come here on World Championship Wrestling.
26:54Here's some comments from the SST
26:56plus we'll see the U.S. Champion Lex Luger
26:58in action. Nature boy Rick Flair
27:00looking forward wholeheartedly
27:02to his nationally televised matchup
27:04with Luger this Wednesday night. We'll also
27:06have some comments and then we'll see
27:08the big monster of the horseman Sid
27:10Vicious in action as well.
27:12Scott Steiner
27:14aborted the
27:16clothesline. Can he do it?
27:22He got him up and over
27:24it wasn't easy but you're
27:26talking about a man that has at least
27:28350 pounds and maybe in that
27:30maybe even more than that.
27:32He is such a big man.
27:34He's very tall and very
27:36heavy. Probably Jim
27:38well over 400 pounds. He's got
27:40him up.
27:42Shoulder first right to the canvas
27:44and Death Row
27:46wants to make the tag if he can
27:48focus on his opponent or his partner.
27:50He finally does and
27:52Snake Watson will slither back
27:54in for another opportunity. He didn't
27:56come in too hurriedly did he Jim?
27:58He's a little slow getting in. Who can
28:00blame him after he saw what was happening
28:02to his partner?
28:04Let me tell you quickly about next weekend.
28:06The World Championship Wrestling on Tour
28:08next weekend. Saturday the 8th.
28:10St. Louis, Missouri and Lubbock, Kansas.
28:12Then Sunday the 9th in Springfield, Missouri
28:14and in Fort Worth, Texas
28:16at Tarrant County Convention Center.
28:18All of that next weekend.
28:20Scott Steiner drives that knee to the back
28:22of the neck.
28:24Snake Watson tag made.
28:26Tricky coming in.
28:32Rick Steiner's got Snake Watson up.
28:34Carried him around the ring.
28:36Watson in a dazed state there.
28:38Uh oh.
28:40Watch out. Here it comes.
28:42Belly to belly suplex in the second row.
28:46Boy that's a killer.
28:52That t-shirt.
28:54Here it comes here.
28:56The Frankie Steiner shirt.
28:58And that is all.
29:00The Steiners are ready for the SST.
29:02Ladies and gentlemen,
29:04the winner of the match is Steiner Brothers.
29:06We'll have another look
29:08at that belly to belly suplex
29:10Steiner style before we hear from the SST.
29:12And Jim it's off of the second row.
29:14As Snake Watson
29:16was sitting up on the top rope
29:18at belly to belly.
29:20Way high into the air off of the second row.
29:22Rick Steiner to cover him for the press.
29:24One, two, three.
29:26He's been Steinerized.
29:28And fans let's hear these comments now
29:30from the Samoan SWAT team.
29:34You know something Steiner Brothers?
29:36You ain't seen the last of the SST.
29:38You think the shovel's gonna do the damage?
29:40You wait till we get through with you.
29:42You're gonna be calling 911.
29:44Step it up.
29:46Body bag. You're going down.
29:48Wrestling fans
29:50here's the following contest.
29:52It is the Fallen Paul
29:54making his way to the ring.
29:56United States Heavyweight Champion
29:58weighing in at 275 pounds
30:00from the winning state Chicago, Illinois.
30:02Here's the full package.
30:04This is
30:06Rick Steiner.
30:08His United States
30:10Heavyweight Championship will be at stake
30:12live here on TBS
30:14Wednesday night, 8.05
30:16Eastern Time.
30:18The championship he'll have with Rick Flair.
30:20Let's go back to Tony Gillum.
30:22In the ring, his opponent from New York City
30:24at 240 pounds, Doug Vines.
30:26Doug Vines
30:28to challenge the total package here.
30:30And Luger did have some comments to make.
30:32Specifically for
30:34Nature Boy Rick Flair.
30:36Here's what the package had to say earlier today.
30:38Nature Boy Rick Flair
30:40versus the total package Lex Luger.
30:42Live and in living color
30:44on national TV.
30:46The final showdown.
30:48And boy, oh boy, the adrenaline's flowing.
30:50This time in front of millions of viewers.
30:52It's a people's forum. Let them decide who's the best.
30:56And we'll hear from Nature Boy Rick Flair
30:58a little bit later in the program
31:00about his thoughts concerning that matchup.
31:02One of the great rivalries, Bob,
31:04we're in the midst of football season beginning
31:06on every level around the country.
31:08And a lot of great rivalries are being talked about
31:10on the gridiron. But none of those rivalries
31:12I don't think are any more intense
31:14than Rick Flair and Lex Luger have going
31:16and that they will attempt to settle
31:18Wednesday night here on CBS.
31:20You're 100% right, Jim.
31:22And of course, the former world champion,
31:24Nature Boy Rick Flair, says,
31:26Luger, you're in for the fight of your life
31:28on Wednesday night. And I believe it.
31:30Because you know what Flair wants to do.
31:32He wants to be seven times
31:34world heavyweight champion.
31:36And Jim, he's got to get past Luger to do it.
31:38Well, by some polls, Luger's the number one contender
31:40by being the United States heavyweight champion.
31:42I personally think that there will be
31:44a toss-up between who would be the number one
31:46contender. Would it be Flair or Luger?
31:48Well, one way to settle it
31:50is not by our conjecture, but by letting them
31:52wrestle. And that's what's going to happen
31:54Wednesday night at the Clash. It's really going to
31:56be a war. The interesting
31:58part about this is the fact that
32:00Sid Vicious, Arne Anderson, and Barry Windham
32:02are not scheduled to wrestle on that card.
32:04But you can bet your
32:06last dollar, Bob, that they'll be there.
32:08They're going to be there. And you know
32:10when they're there, you know what they're going to have their eyes
32:12on. They're going to have their eyes on Luger
32:14and they're going to have their eyes on Sting.
32:16That's two people that they're going to be focused
32:18right on, Jim, Wednesday night.
32:20Nice arm bar by Lex Luger, 6'5",
32:22270. The United
32:24States heavyweight champion.
32:26Sting's best friend, you can count on that
32:28as Doug Vines pushes
32:30Lex Luger back into the corner.
32:32And Vines, a veteran competitor,
32:34double-tough individual, I can promise you.
32:36And Luger elevates him right up in the
32:38lights. Boy, the total
32:40package is just that. He possesses
32:42size and strength,
32:44quickness and agility. He's got it all.
32:46The size, the strength, the stamina. You say the size.
32:486'5", about 272
32:50pounds now, Jim. The total package.
32:52He's got it all. He's got the body.
32:54He's got the power and the strength to go with it.
32:56And also, I tell you, he has really,
32:58I think, in recent months, come on to wrestle
33:00much smarter in the ring than we saw
33:02him wrestle, say, last year.
33:04Very young man in the sport.
33:06On his third reign as United States heavyweight
33:08champion, the second most prestigious
33:10title in all of wrestling
33:12is now held by Lex Luger.
33:14And Doug Vines, showing no respect
33:16at all for the U.S. champion, showing some
33:18offense there. Luger drops down, showing great
33:20agility. Nice leapfrog by the champion.
33:22And a perfectly executed hip lock.
33:24Taking him over, back into the wrist lock.
33:26Fans,
33:28tomorrow night on the NWA main event
33:30at 605, right here on TBS,
33:32Big Van Vader will be here.
33:34Flair will wrestle. And on the Danger Zone,
33:36you'll hear more from the Black Scorpion
33:38and also from Sting.
33:40Yeah, we'll be hearing some more comments
33:42about the Black Scorpion. That
33:44very interesting statement.
33:46If you miss it early in the program, we'll have
33:48another statement for you this Sunday night
33:50at 605.
33:52Sting will be wrestling on the
33:54program this Sunday night. And Flair has
33:56demanded to wrestle on the show
33:58this Sunday night at 605.
34:00So apparently, Flair wants to make an example of someone
34:02here on TBS before the
34:04clash. So tune in Sunday night
34:06at 605 for a great program
34:08as Doug Bynes,
34:10double axe-handling Luger,
34:12but it's like he's hitting an
34:14oak tree. Luger with a
34:16sharp right and another. And now
34:18Luger opening up on Doug Bynes,
34:20sends him for the ride. He's got him up.
34:22Bynes is no small man.
34:24Luger extends the arms and military
34:26presses him and slams him.
34:28Is that power or is that power?
34:30Just military pressed him right over
34:32the head. And you say Bynes
34:34about 270 himself.
34:40Lex Luger
34:44signifying to the crowd here it's time
34:46for the human torture rack.
34:48And as we said, Doug Bynes is no small
34:50man, but Luger's got him up.
34:52It's what Flair
34:54has to avoid Wednesday night.
34:56Ladies and gentlemen, the
34:58winner of the matchup total package,
35:00Lex Luger!
35:04Another look at the powerful
35:06U.S. champion. And you can bet that
35:08belt means the world to that young man.
35:10Well, Jim, as you say, he's
35:12going to get Bynes up in the torture rack.
35:14Nobody gets out of that. And I tell you,
35:16if Ric Flair has any idea
35:18and any hopes of regaining the world
35:20heavyweight championship, he's got to get
35:22by this man and he's got to avoid
35:24the torture rack. And now let's hear
35:26from the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
35:30It's this Wednesday
35:32night right here.
35:34TBS, the Clash of Champions
35:36and yours
35:38truly.
35:40The Nature Boy
35:42custom made from head
35:44to toe, styling
35:46and profiling will
35:48walk to the ring
35:50and defeat Lex Luger
35:52for the United States
35:54heavyweight championship
35:56on TBS Wednesday
35:58night, live and in color.
36:00Woo!
36:02Making his way to the ring area,
36:04at 321 pounds, a member of the
36:06Four Huntsmen, Big
36:08Sam Houston!
36:10One of the most awesome
36:12specimens in wrestling. Bob, why don't we have a chance
36:14to get a couple of quick hellos? Yes, sir.
36:16Jim, you're right. We want to say hello to all
36:18our great fans in Waco, Texas.
36:20World Championship Wrestling will be back in Waco
36:22Saturday night, the 15th at the Convention
36:24Center. We're going to be soon in Columbus,
36:26Ohio. At 230
36:28pounds, from Knoxville, Tennessee,
36:30Joe Kuzana!
36:32Fans, as we've said,
36:34Sid Vicious not wrestling at the Clash,
36:36but he and the entire
36:38Horsemen entourage will be there.
36:40And here's what Sid Vicious had to say
36:42just a little bit earlier today.
36:46Wednesday night, the Clash,
36:48the biggest show ever! The night
36:50that Ric Flair is going to take the title
36:52from Lynch Luger. Luger
36:54and the Horsemen are going to be there.
36:56And Steve, you might have a little
36:58surprise for you, boy.
37:02And I'll have some comments tonight on the Wrestling
37:04Hotline regarding the Horsemen
37:06involvement at the Clash this Wednesday
37:08night. That's on the Wrestling Hotline
37:10tonight. And also coming
37:12up here before we go off the air, our
37:14first look, a video feature of the
37:16Master Blasters, who will debut
37:18Wednesday night at the Clash of Champions.
37:20This big Sid
37:22Vicious, Jim, is just an awesome individual.
37:24I think, really, he's the most
37:26dangerous member of the Horsemen.
37:28And he's focused almost
37:30totally on stinging.
37:32He won't sting. He won't sting in the worst
37:34way. It's almost become
37:36an obsession with him. And I tell you,
37:38he could very well be the most awesome
37:40destructive athlete in professional
37:42wrestling today. That's what
37:44the Horsemen have done to this man.
37:46The Horsemen influence have been very
37:48positive on Sid Vicious. The making
37:50of a monster
37:52buries a boot right to the ribs
37:54of Joe Kazana.
37:56Sid Vicious
37:58had a big attack
38:00of Flyin' Brian and Z-Man.
38:02Look at that man. Plus
38:04Midnight Express were involved in that.
38:06And this Sunday night on the main
38:08event, I'm gonna talk to Bobby Eaton
38:10of the Midnight Express about
38:12his thoughts of Sid Vicious
38:14involvement in one of their recent matches
38:16that we saw right here on this program.
38:18He's so intense when
38:20he gets into action in the ring. Now look at the power.
38:22I tell you, I just about as soon
38:24face a Mack truck on the loose as
38:26Sid Vicious in the ring.
38:28He is a tough, tough individual.
38:306'9",
38:32330 plus.
38:34And as Bob Codlesso aptly pointed
38:36out, when Vicious became
38:38a Horseman, that was the deciding
38:40factor. You can't help
38:42but get better being around men like
38:44Ric Flair and Barry Windham and Arne Anderson.
38:46And with his raw potential,
38:48the influence that the Horsemen have
38:50exerted on this big guy,
38:52the making of the monster
38:54may also be subtitled the making
38:56of a future world champion. I think you're right, Jim.
38:58The intensity which we said, but
39:00the important thing they instilled was just
39:02this killer instinct
39:04in big Sid Vicious.
39:08Awesome display of power.
39:12One of the premier power wrestlers in the sport
39:14today. A total disdain
39:16for the fans. A total
39:18disdain for the rule book.
39:24He's so confident in his own ability,
39:26in his own power, in his own strength,
39:28Jim. He really believes,
39:30and I'm not going to argue with him about it,
39:32he really believes he's unstoppable.
39:34And Bob, you know, he may be.
39:36There's the powerbomb,
39:38and he drives him down.
39:40Big Sid Vicious,
39:42on a collision course with Luger,
39:44with Sting. He's all man, fans.
39:48The winner of the match,
39:50Big Sid Vicious!
39:52Fans, we're going to take a look
39:54at a feature on the Master Blasters,
39:56but first, take a look at the powerbomb.
39:58You just don't have any more
40:00power than this man displays right here,
40:02as Big Sid Vicious
40:04lifts his opponent high to the air.
40:06Joe Cozzanna is completely helpless
40:08as he's driven hard to the mat
40:10by the big man who covers him
40:12for the one, two, three.
40:14And there you have the winner.
40:16And fans, now, a video feature.
40:18They'll debut Wednesday night. Here's a look
40:20at the Master Blasters.
40:22We have a few moments left here, ladies and gentlemen.
40:24I'm going to spend it with a heavyweight champion
40:26of the world, The Stinger.
40:28Remember, fans, this Wednesday night,
40:30The Stinger will defend the world's
40:32heavyweight championship for the first time
40:34on national television, right here on TBS
40:36against the unknown commodity,
40:38Big Sid Vicious.
40:52...commodity, The Black Scorpion.
40:54Black Scorpion, I don't know who he is.
40:56He says he's
40:58from California, from 1986.
41:00Somebody I used to know.
41:02I don't know who it is.
41:04We've had the opportunity
41:06to see one tape. Maybe we'll get to see
41:08more. He's kind of letting
41:10little hints go by, but I guess
41:12we'll never know exactly who it is
41:14until we hop into the ring. And I gotta admit,
41:16Rossi, I'm the kind of guy that
41:18just kind of does whatever comes to mind, you know.
41:20But we are
41:22talking about an unknown. Somebody
41:24says he knows me, but I don't know him,
41:26and I'm not sure exactly how I'm gonna prepare
41:28for a match like this. So I am kind of
41:30curious, and I am thinking about it.
41:32I do lay in bed at night thinking,
41:34who is this guy? What's his background?
41:36What's his style in the ring? So it's
41:38not just gonna float by
41:40my head. It's definitely on my mind,
41:42you know. It's gonna be a great challenge
41:44not being able to scout for someone,
41:46but you're gonna be fighting this one on national television.
41:48Will that make a difference?
41:50National television is always
41:52the best place to defend the world title
41:54because when you defend the world title,
41:56I want the whole world, not just everybody in the arena
41:58to see, but everybody in the whole wide world.
42:00And I'm not gonna let anybody down
42:02because it took me a long time to come up with this, Rossi.
42:04Best of luck to you, ladies and gentlemen.
42:06We'll see you tomorrow night at 6.05
42:08on the Main Event.
