00:01:50I think now on Stan Hanson, we talk about him being from Chicago.

00:01:54You know he's going to be defending that championship belt against Hanson,

00:01:57and it's going to be in his hometown.

00:02:17He's got plenty of power, strength, size, and ability just to complete,

00:02:23Aptly names him in the ring.

00:02:25Luger is the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship,

00:02:29and we'll have a look at the updated new top tens a little bit later in this segment.

00:02:33Nice drop down by Luger shows great quickness for a big man.

00:02:36Remember, he's 6'5", 275.

00:02:40He's classed with great grace and agility, Bob.

00:02:43He's got a lot of quickness, too, for a man that size.

00:02:45When you talk about 275 pounds, 6'5", you expect him to be a little awkward,

00:02:49but he doesn't move that way, Jim.

00:02:50Good quickness, good agility for a man his size.

00:02:56I think when you analyze Luger's matchup with Stan Hanson

00:02:59and the past big matchups that Luger has had on pay-per-view television,

00:03:03namely with Nature Boy Ric Flair,

00:03:05Stan Hanson is a tremendous departure from Flair.

00:03:08Hanson is a 300-pound brawler.

00:03:11Boy, I tell you, any time you got someone, or not someone,

00:03:15but you got to stop Hanson after you.

00:03:17High crossbody by Luger,

00:03:20and Chuck Coats able to free himself there,

00:03:23but Luger with a nice arm drag takeover, Bob.

00:03:25But as you were saying, Hanson is a brawler.

00:03:28That's right. You got to be worried when Hanson is after you.

00:03:30Jim, the guy, he doesn't follow any set pattern or any plan.

00:03:33You never know what he's going to do.

00:03:35He's wild, he's vicious, and when he's got you in his sights,

00:03:38he's going to take you down any way he can.

00:03:41Luger, that armbar, and Luger is in such magnificent physical condition.

00:03:46But I'll tell you something,

00:03:49the match with Hanson will be intense.

00:03:51You know, we've talked about Luger's rapidly improved cardiovascular conditioning,

00:03:55his ability to enhance wrestle,

00:03:5845, 60 minutes with Ric Flair.

00:04:01I don't think anybody can stay in the ring with Stan Hanson for 60 minutes.

00:04:04Hanson is too volatile and too brutal

00:04:07for any human being, in my estimation, to withstand 60 minutes of pounding.

00:04:11He doesn't know any way but straight ahead and full gore, let it all hang out.

00:04:15And that's the way Stan Hanson's going to go right from the opening bell.

00:04:18And Lex Luger's got to be prepared for just that type of match.

00:04:22Nice Irish whip there by Chuck Coates.

00:04:24And now Coates rakes the eyes of the United States heavyweight champion.

00:04:29Luger, a very intense competitor,

00:04:32rapidly becoming the greatest U.S. champion ever in the NWA.

00:04:36He's on his third title run as he sends Chuck Coates for the ride.

00:05:21coming off with a tremendous power slam to the mat, up for the torture rack.

00:10:17However, Tim Horner could not be with us here today.

00:10:20He's substituting for Tim Horner as Mike Crotunda's partner, Bob.

00:10:23He sure is. He's a lot like Horner, really.

00:10:26Taylor is. He's quick, agile on his feet.

00:10:29Likes an up-tempo type match.

00:10:32And, of course, Crotunda, he goes right along with that.

00:10:35Here's an all-around athlete, Mike Crotunda, Jim.

00:10:38Tremendous star in football and in wrestling in college at Syracuse.

00:10:52We'll have some comments from him in a few moments.

00:12:27After last night's impressive victory, it's beautiful Bob Eaton of the Midnight Express.

00:12:31Jim, that match we're really looking forward to.

00:12:33That's going to be a humdinger.

00:12:36Nice move there by Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker.

00:12:39Don't ever count the State Patrol short.

00:12:41They're an outstanding tag team.

00:12:43They are tag team specialists.

00:12:45We have seen them in single competition,

00:12:47but more often than not, they're in tag team matches.

00:12:50That was a good tag there by the sergeant tagging in the lieutenant.

00:12:54And tag team experience, Jim.

00:12:56They got a hands-over-fist over Rotundo and Taylor.

00:12:58As you mentioned earlier, Rotundo normally with Tim Horner.

00:13:02It's sort of a new team in there in Taylor and Rotundo.

00:13:05Nice move there by Lieutenant James Earl Wright.

00:13:09On top, had the leg grapevined momentarily.

00:13:11Got two out of it.

00:13:12Individually, Rotundo and Taylor may have a higher level of skill,

00:13:16but collectively, because of the experience factor involved in this match,

00:13:20State Patrol may be at least an even favorite to win this contest.

00:13:25Well, familiarity has got a lot to do with tag team wrestling.

00:13:28There's no doubt.

00:13:29And they're awfully familiar with each other.

00:13:31As you say, having wrestled for some time together as tag team partners.

00:13:34They know each other's moves and how each other thinks in the ring,

00:13:37and they know what to do when the other one's in trouble.

00:13:39Nice sunset flip there.

00:13:41And a good illustration of what Bob Cottle just said

00:13:43was Lieutenant James Earl Wright interrupted the count

00:13:45before the referee really got started.

00:13:47Another quick tag.

00:13:48Lieutenant Wright in there.

00:13:53and then rakes the eyes of Terry Taylor.

00:14:22and he nails the lieutenant for good measure as well.

00:15:02and this was the type of match that they wanted up-tempo

00:15:05as Rotundo and Taylor worked very well together for that tag

00:15:09to make the tag with Taylor, the legal man in the ring,

00:15:12as you say, that tremendous five-arm.

00:15:15We'll see J.W. Storm a little bit later in the program wrestling,

00:15:18but right now he's got this statement for world championship wrestling.

01:13:43they got to use their speed,

01:13:45their agility, and their wrestling ability.

01:13:55The Nasty Boys have been really clamoring

01:13:58for a title shot.

01:13:59I can tell you, as there's Jerry Sacks.

01:14:14and I don't argue with them about it.

01:14:20But they certainly think they're championship caliber

01:14:26and in world championship wrestling

01:14:28is really set up

01:14:29and they're taking notice now of the Nasty Boys.

01:15:07for the speed, the quickness.

01:15:39and just see how tough you really are.

01:15:41I can envision how intense it would be

01:15:45if the Nasty Boys ever did wrestle the Steiners

01:15:48for the U.S. title.

01:15:49It would be a very intense competition.

01:15:52Well, we've seen a lot of teams try it

01:15:54and go up and try to match their strength

01:15:56and their power with the Steiners.

01:15:57This team may be able to do that.

01:15:59I think they would at least stand toe-to-toe with them.

01:17:11He even wrestled for a while

01:17:12as a fighting fireman, Bob.

01:17:15Brad is very comfortable in the confines

01:17:17of the Cobb County Civic Center

01:17:19here in Marietta, Georgia.

01:17:21Brian Nobbs, now,

01:17:23goes forearms right to the side of the head

01:17:25of the Candyman,

01:17:26but Armstrong reverses.

01:17:27Good leapfrog there.

01:17:28He drops down.

01:17:29It's a quick pace now,

01:17:30and a dropkick.

01:17:31Found his mark.

01:17:32Arm drag, taking him over.

01:17:34And as long as the Candyman and Perez

01:17:37can control the tempo,

01:17:38we may be in line for an upset here.

01:17:41They very well could be.

01:17:42The National Boys will tell you, Jim,

01:17:43and they know it, and they admit it.

01:17:45They aren't pretty in the ring,

01:17:46but they're going to get in.

01:17:47They're going to maul you.

01:17:48They're going to club you.

01:17:49They're going to stomp you,

01:17:50and they're going to kick you.

01:17:51They say we come by that name naturally.

01:17:53We're nationally in the ring,

01:17:55and that's the way we like to wrestle.

01:19:01Well, I tell you, Sting,

01:19:03I feel for the guy because the Black Scorpion

01:19:06has some serious mind games on Sting.

01:19:09The Scorpion's motivation is not the world title,

01:19:12it would seem,

01:19:13but to drive Sting insane.

01:19:16And Jim, not only that,

01:19:17if you've got somebody like that

01:19:19who's trying and is really playing the mind games with you,

01:19:22but when you look in front of you,

01:19:24you've got the big man, Sid Vicious.

01:19:27Well, it's a terrible situation to be in,

01:19:29the one Sting's in right now.

01:19:31Sting, I think,

01:19:32didn't want to let any of his little stingers down.

01:19:34He signed an open contract

01:19:35to wrestle the Black Scorpion

01:19:36anywhere that the Scorpion would sign.

01:19:38But the big match that has been determined

01:19:40that will happen at Halloween Havoc

01:19:42is Sid Vicious and Sting

01:19:44for the World's Heavyweight Championship.

01:19:46And unfortunately for the champion,

01:19:48he's not going to be able to focus fully

01:19:50on Sid Vicious between now and October 27th

01:19:53and the pay-per-view.

01:19:54And fans, you don't want to miss that match.

01:19:56That's going to be one of a kind.

01:22:38The Steiners are masters of the suplex,

01:22:40but the Nasty Boys aren't half bad either.

01:22:45He's got to reach down, and he does.

01:22:47Twice now he's been able to reach down.

01:22:51They've had him down for the count of two,

01:22:53just couldn't hold him for the third one.

01:22:55Well, I tell you, they could get,

01:23:03and the clothesline that the Steiners put on you.

01:23:06We've seen it put many, many opponents down

01:23:09and many out.

01:23:10Nobody puts it on like the Steiners do.

01:23:12And the Nasty Boys will feel that, I'm sure.

01:24:05kicking Armstrong right to the head.
