00:00After quickly entering the committee level of the Camera, this is the presentation of the funds for the next year of the Office of the President.
00:09Aside from the O.P., the officials of the Presidential Communications Office also met with the congressmen.
00:15It was past 9 in the morning when the House Committee on Appropriations heard about the presentation of the funds of the Office of the President for the fiscal year 2025.
00:28The Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and other officials of Malacanang personally met here.
00:34In the opening statement of the Appropriations Chair Elizalde Co, she first greeted the Executive Department,
00:41now held by the government, the two most wanted personalities in the country, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and former Mayor Alice Guho.
00:49As for the budget, I confirmed the continued support of the Camera to the programs and initiatives of Malacanang in the name of the country's development.
00:59In the separate statement of Executive Secretary Bersamin, she also thanked the Camera for their good cooperation in the O.P.
01:06The budget hearing was only delayed by 15 minutes earlier and was quickly terminated in the name of Inter-Parliamentary Courtesy.
01:14For the fiscal year 2025, the Office of the President asked for a budget of more than P10.5 billion.
01:45Nonetheless, we believe that the proposed amount will be sufficient and adequate for the President to meet the exacting demands of being the head of state and of government.
01:59We are here as a manifestation of the President's commitment to honor and respect the Congress as our partner in upholding the country's national interests as well as in promoting the welfare of our people.
02:16After the O.P. at 11 a.m. earlier this morning, the officials of the Presidential Communications Office met with the Appropriations Committee budget hearing
02:27led by the new President, Secretary Cecil Chavez.
02:31The officials of the attached agencies and DOCCs were also present, including the PCO and Pambansang Televisyon led by PTV Network General Manager Antonio Baltazar Nebrida Jr.
02:45In his presentation, Secretary Chavez laid out the objectives of the PCO to improve the information dissemination of the government
02:54and their initiatives for the more aggressive promotion of the various objectives and projects of the government.
03:01For the fiscal year 2025, the PCO and its attached agencies proposed a budget of more than P2 billion.
03:08Here is the part of the PCO Secretary Chavez's statement, particularly about the red tagging and the fight against fake news.
03:17Madam Chair, two things. One, there's no policy in this government, there's no practice in this government, this government, this Marcos administration government on red tagging.
03:26Second, immediately after I took my oath as acting Secretary of PCO, I met the Malacanang Press Corps and informed them of our initiative.
03:36In the next few days, I'll be issuing a particular address to all state media, that means PTB4, Philippine Information Agency,
03:48Radyo Pilipinas Bureau of Broadcast Services, the Philippine News Agency, the IBC-13, and the PCO proper,
03:56that all of them will designate a fake officer or anti-fake news officer, will help us that we cannot be an instrument or a purveyor of fake news.
04:16Aljo, at this point, the budget briefing for the PCO has been terminated.
04:23At this point, we are waiting for the media to have an ambush interview with the officials who came here today.
04:32Later, Aljo, around 3 p.m., the House Committee on Appropriations will hear from the officials of the Department of Migrant Workers. Aljo.
04:42Mela, this September, the target of the camera is that there will be the third and final reading of the National Fund for next year, 2025.
