00:11The Senate Committee on Finance has already approved the budget of the Office of the President for the next year.

00:18The budget is more than P10 billion.

00:20It is personally presented to the Senators by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

00:25According to Bersamin, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. values cooperation between the two branches of the government.

00:33While this amount is 1.88% lower than the budget of the Office of the President in fiscal year 2024

00:43and represents a mere one-ninth of 1% of the proposed total national budget for fiscal year 2025,

00:52we believe that the amount will be enough for the President to meet the exacting demands of being the head of state and of government.

01:01Despite the reduction in the budget being proposed, rest assured, Your Honors,

01:06that the same will not affect the delivery of services of the President to our people.

01:12And because they have an inter-parliamentary courtesy, the Senators did not extend the discussion on the budget of the Office of the President

01:19before the support reached the Senators on how their funds will be allocated.

01:23There are many good programs that our President started for the development of our economy, agriculture, livelihood, health and education.

01:32We can see the benefits it brings to our countrymen, especially to those who need it the most.

01:40In the budget hearing of the Ombudsman, Senator Grace asked if they will need confidential funds worth more than P51 million.

02:10If you can give us the same amount that you gave us last year for 2024, the P1 million, that will be very sufficient for us, Your Honor.

02:20Aside from the budget of the Office of the President and the Ombudsman, the budget of the Commission on Audit was also approved by the committee level.
