00:00Paok and PNP CIDG filed a complaint against DOJ against Lucky South 99 and its incorporator, Cassandra Ong.
00:10The DOJ insisted that this is not the last but the first complaint filed by the center of the news from Luisa Erispe Luisa.
00:20Nayomi, this is a new complaint filed by Cassandra Ong to the Department of Justice today.
00:26After the money laundering complaint last month, she was with Alice Guo and 35 others.
00:34Today, Ong will face a qualified human trafficking complaint because of her involvement in Operation Pogo against Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.
00:44According to the DOJ, Ong and 53 others were the ones who filed the complaint of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and PNP CIDG.
00:54In this complaint, Ong is the main respondent because DOJ said that it is not true that his defense has nothing to do with Lucky South 99,
01:05but that Lucky South and Whirlwind are working together. Here is the statement of Undersecretary Nicolas Sinang, DOJ.
01:14For them, there is only one thing. It is Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corporation.
01:20As I said before, it is a grand implied conspiracy.
01:24Other than that, they did something that is often done in the corporation law, piercing the veil of corporate fiction.
01:32This is very important because we should not allow the criminals to use the corporation law, the layering, to do what the criminals are doing.
01:44The number of witnesses in the complaint is 10 Chinese and four Filipinos working in Lucky South 99.
01:51But they believe that there are more witnesses.
01:55According to the complaint, Lucky South 99 is the biggest modus of human trafficking based on their investigation.
02:05This is what we have been saying for a long time, that Lucky South 99 is notorious within the POGO communities because they are the biggest modus of human trafficking.
02:17They buy people from the casinos.
02:21There is a Chinese group of kidnappers.
02:29There are loan sharks in the casinos here in Metro Manila.
02:33They look for the vulnerable to borrow money.
02:36Then they sell the money to the POGO.
02:42Naomi, a Singaporean national, Zhang Ji, is also included in the complaint.
02:48He is said to be related to Lucky South 99.
02:51Zhang Ji also refused to help Alice Guo in Singapore and Indonesia.
02:57He also saw that Lucky South 99 has a connection with Alice Guo.
03:02DOJ said that this is not the last but the first complaint filed by DOJ, PAOK and CIDG against Lucky South 99.
03:15This is just the first step in the case against Lucky South 99.
03:20There are many other cases that can be filed against the people behind Lucky South 99.
03:26Our Q-tip case, the Qualified Trafficking in Persons case, is just the first case.
03:31There are other Qualified Trafficking in Persons cases that will follow against other respondents.
03:38Naomi, earlier in the press conference, the Department of Justice mentioned the refusal to be the caretaker or officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Immigration
03:51for Attorney Joel Viado, the Deputy Commissioner of the DI.
03:56He will be the Deputy Commissioner of the DI while the president has not been appointed as the new commissioner.
04:02He will be appointed as the new commissioner after the massive sequestration of DI Commissioner Norman Tancico yesterday.
04:08This is the latest from DOJ. Let's go back to you Naomi.
04:11Thank you very much Louisa Erispe.
