00:00Happy Thursday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:04The rain is expected today and the following days in a large part of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
00:11because of the upcoming Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, which is slowly being intensified by this storm
00:17that is outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:20This storm that is outside is a severe tropical storm with an international name, Bibingka,
00:25and is located at an altitude of more than 1,900 kilometers above the central zone,
00:29with a strong wind of 95 kilometers per hour,
00:32and it is expected to intensify as the northern part of the Philippine Sea plus the Pacific Ocean.
00:39Based on the latest forecast, it is expected that the storm will continue to intensify
00:45and possibly become a typhoon before it enters our Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow night.
00:51If ever, we will call this storm Ferdie or the sixth storm for this year.
00:57It is expected that this storm will continue to intensify until the Philippine Area of Responsibility
01:03is released on Saturday morning.
01:06When it is released, it will still be accompanied by Habagat or Southwest Monsoon,
01:10so the rains will continue in many areas of our country,
01:13up to Northern and Central Luzon as Metro Manila, until next week.
01:19It will remain far from our land, but it is still possible for floods and landslides to occur.
01:27For our weather forecast for Thursday,
01:30there are areas that will be raining due to Habagat plus the tip of this storm Bibingka.
01:35There is a high chance of rain in the Bicol region, especially in Sosogon and Masbate,
01:39and here in Occidental Mindoro and La Lawigan of Romblon,
01:43up to Habagat.
01:45Sometimes, the rains will be heavy.
01:47The weather will be gloomy, so be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:52There is a high chance that we will also experience advisories and heavy rainfall warnings.
01:57In the remaining part of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
02:00it is expected that it will be cloudy until the morning.
02:04Then, when it reaches the afternoon and evening,
02:07there will be frequent rains due to thunderstorms here in Northern Luzon
02:12As the southwest monsoon or Habagat gradually intensifies,
02:15in the remaining part of Calabar zone, Bicol region, Metro Manila, parts of Central Luzon,
02:21there will also be severe tropical storm Bibingka
02:25in the areas of Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
02:28Our temperature in Metro Manila is from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:34To our fellowmen here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:38please bring an umbrella if you are going out of your house today
02:41because there is a high chance of heavy rains here in the western section of Palawan,
02:47western Visayas, Zamboanga, Peninsula, and Bangsamoro
02:50due to the southwest monsoon and the remaining part of Visayas and Mindanao
02:54due to the trough of this tropical storm Bibingka.
02:57Sometimes, the rains will be heavy.
02:59Be careful of possible floods and landslides.
03:03Make sure that we are always aware of heavy rainfall warnings and rainfall advisories.
03:09Our temperature here in Palawan is from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:13While a large part of Visayas and Palawan will have temperatures from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:21As for our location of the ocean, we do not have a gale warning for today.
03:26However, expect moderate to rough seas or up to 3 meters high waves
03:31for our fellowmen here in Caraga and Davao region.
03:34This will also affect the outer rain bands or outer cloud bands of this tropical storm Bibingka.
03:40Almost 3 meters. This is dangerous for small marine vehicles.
03:44As for the remaining part of the eastern side of our country,
03:47here in eastern Visayas, eastern portions of Luzon,
03:50up to the remaining town of Mindanao and Visayas,
03:53expect moderate to rough seas or up to 3 meters high waves
03:57while there are areas here in northern Luzon,
04:00up to 3 meters high,
04:02but eventually, there will be strong waves here in the West Philippine Sea until the weekend.
04:09As for the latest regarding the tropical cyclone threat potential
04:13that we are watching for potential storms,
04:15If this potential storm passes early next week,
04:20there may be a new low-pressure area in the eastern part of Luzon
04:25over the northern portion of the Philippine Sea.
04:28Until the next week, there is a high chance that this will be a weak storm or tropical depression.
04:34Then, from the middle of next week until later next week on the weekend,
04:38the potential storm we are talking about will move south
04:42If it becomes a ferdy, we will call it a tropical storm
04:47and it will move south,
04:49which means there is still a low chance that it will hit our land,
04:53but knowing that the storms here in the northern Philippine Sea
04:57will still be affected by the southwest monsoon or tropical depression,
05:01so it will still be rainy in many areas of our country until next week.
05:05It is still possible for our scenarios to change,
05:07so please stay tuned for our updates.
05:11And for our forecast for the next two days,
05:15it will still be rainy in many areas
05:18because of the southwest monsoon that will still affect the tropical cyclone Binca
05:23that is possible to become a ferdy.
05:25As of Friday, September 13,

05:39while we have occasional rains in Romblon, Masbate, Sosogon,
05:45Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula,

06:31starting today until the next three days or until the weekend.
06:35There will be heavy rains so make sure to bring raincoats.
06:38Always coordinate with your local disaster risk reduction and management offices
06:43if there is a need to evacuate
06:45and always stay tuned to our updates,
06:47especially for heavy rainfall warnings.
06:49Mostly heavy rains will be the cause of this possible thunderstorm.
06:55Our sunrise is 5.45am and sunset is 6pm.
07:00That's all for the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
