00:00Good morning to all of you and live from the Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:05Here is the time, September 11, 2024.
00:09In our latest satellite images, we can see that the typhoon that we are watching outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:17since the Tropical Depression yesterday, this is a Tropical Storm.
00:21This means that it has increased.
00:23In the category of typhoons after the Tropical Depression, this is a Tropical Storm.
00:28The next one is a Severe Tropical Storm.
00:30Now, it has an international name, Bibingka.
00:33Bibingka means pudding or bibingka in our country.
00:38This came from Macau, China.
00:40This is what gave the name of this typhoon.
00:44Meanwhile, we can still see the effect of the Southwest Monsoon
00:48or a long and particular wind in the northern part of our country.
00:52Meanwhile, in the eastern part of our country,
00:54this typhoon that brought by the typhoon Bibingka is already affecting.
00:59So, it is possible that there will be a cloudy sky,
01:01that there will be rains, especially in the eastern Visayas,
01:04as well as in some parts of Bicol Region and Caragas today.
01:08And it is possible that due to the movement of the typhoon Bibingka,
01:11the wind will be strong.
01:17But today, a large part of our country can still experience generally fair weather,
01:22but it is still possible that there will be isolated or dry rains.
01:25From dusk to dawn, there will be rains in the early hours of the day.
01:29This is one of the characteristics of the Southwest Monsoon or a long and particular wind.
01:34So, we can see that here in Mindanao,
01:36we also have generally fair weather, as well as in some parts of Luzon.
01:40Let us now look at where the typhoon Bibingka is expected to hit.
01:45Yesterday, around 11 p.m., we issued a Tropical Cyclone Advisory.
01:50If we have a typhoon that is within around 145 degrees east,
01:55we issue a Tropical Cyclone Advisory twice a day, 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.,
02:02especially if it is possible for it to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:07So, we can see that the chance of a typhoon Bibingka to landfall in our country is small,
02:13but we can still see the potential strength of this typhoon.
02:17That is why we can see that if the typhoon Bibingka moves to the northwest,
02:23it is possible that there will be rains, especially in the Visayas and Southern Luzon.
02:28This is the Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa starting tomorrow.
02:33So, tomorrow, we will be able to feel the effects of the typhoon,
02:36particularly in the Visayas.
02:39On Friday and Saturday, we will be able to feel the effects of the typhoon,
02:43particularly in the Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon.
02:48This weekend, it is possible that the sky will be cloudy and there will be heavy rains.
02:53It is also possible that there will be heavy rains in the Visayas on Friday and Saturday.
02:58So, let us be careful of the possibility of sudden floods and landslides
03:03due to the possible strength or effects of the typhoon in the coming days.
03:07We can also see that in the track of the typhoon Bibingka,
03:10on Friday and Saturday, it is possible that it will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
03:16If ever it will enter PAR, its name will be Aya Ferdi.
03:21So, that is the next name of the typhoon.
03:23But, we can also see that it is also possible that the track of the typhoon Bibingka
03:28is almost in the northeastern boundary of PAR.
03:30So, there is also a possibility that it will not enter PAR.
03:33So, there are still a lot of updates that can happen here in the typhoon.
03:36That is why we are always on the lookout for updates.
03:40Even if the typhoon Bibingka enters or not the Philippine Area of Responsibility,
03:46we can still see the strong winds that will bring more rains,
03:51like what I mentioned earlier, starting tomorrow here in the Visayas area
03:56along with Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and Bicol Region,
03:59and Bicol Region, as well as Metro Manila, towards the weekend.
04:03And this is where the weather will be on this day.
04:06Here in Luzon, we can see the trough or extension or clouds
04:10brought by the typhoon Bibingka can bring a cloudy sky
04:13with particular rains on the parts of Sorsogon and Masbate.
04:18In the cold parts of Luzon, including Camaynilaan,
04:21today, the weather is still a bit hot.
04:24It is still possible for thunderstorms to occur in the afternoon and evening.
04:28The temperature in Lawag is up to 32°C.
04:31In Baguio, 17°C to 23°C.
04:33In Tagaygarao, 25°C to 34°C.
04:36In Metro Manila, 26°C to 33°C.
04:39In Tagaytay, 23°C to 31°C.
04:42While in Legazpi, 26°C to 32°C.
04:46Let's go to Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
04:49In Palawan, today, we will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:53The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 26°C to 32°C.
04:57In Puerto Princesa, 25°C to 32°C.
05:01Today, we are also expecting cloudy skies.
05:04There will be rain showers in eastern Visayas,
05:06at the end of the trough,
05:07or the extension of the low-pressure region of Baguio-Cibibinca.
05:10In the cold parts of Cabizayaan,
05:12generally, the weather is still fair,
05:13but there will be rain showers in the afternoon and evening.
05:15The temperature in Tacloban is 26°C to 33°C.
05:19In Iloilo, 25°C to 33°C.
05:22In Cebu, 26°C to 33°C.
05:26It will also be cloudy,
05:27as there will be scattered showers in the area of Caraga,
05:30at the end of the trough of Baguio-Cibibinca.
05:32In the cold parts of Mindanao,
05:34we will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
05:38The temperature in Zamboanga is 25°C to 33°C.
05:42In Cagendeoro, 24°C to 33°C.
05:45In Davao, 24°C to 33°C.
05:48I will repeat,
05:49as the storm approaches Cibibinca,
05:51starting tomorrow,
05:52it will be rainy or cloudy skies in Bisayas
05:56and Palawan.
05:59Meanwhile, we do not have a high gale warning,
06:01due to the spread of sea vehicles and small boats
06:04in our neighboring countries.
06:06Although, be careful,
06:07if there are thunderstorms,
06:08the waves of the sea may rise.
