We owe it to voters to have another debate – Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, told supporters at a rally in North Carolina on Thursday, September 12, she believed US voters were owed another debate between her and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The former president said earlier on Thursday in a social media post that he would not do another debate before the Nov. 5 election.

The two candidates sparred in a debate in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 10, night.

00:00Two nights ago, Donald Trump and I had our first debate.
00:11And I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate.
00:16Because this election and what is at stake could not be more important.
00:25On Tuesday night, I talked about issues that I know matter to families across America.
00:34Like bringing down the cost of living, investing in America's small businesses,
00:40protecting reproductive freedom, and keeping our nation safe and secure.
00:50Over 200 people who worked for President George H.W. Bush,
00:57President George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney have endorsed me for president.
01:02Former Vice President Dick Cheney and Congresswoman Liz Cheney are supporting me as well.
01:08Because as they said, we have a duty as citizens to put the country above partisanship and defend our Constitution.
01:26One in three women in America lives under a Trump abortion ban.
01:32Many with no exceptions even for rape and incest.
01:35It is immoral. It is immoral.
01:40And I know we all here understand and agree one does not have to abandon their faith
01:49or deeply held beliefs to agree the government should not be telling her what to do with her body.
01:57And when asked on Tuesday night, Donald Trump refused to say that he would veto a national abortion ban.
02:08You remember that? He refused to answer that question.
02:13Well, I'm going to tell you, when Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom as President of the United States,
02:20I will proudly, proudly sign it into law.
02:28So, North Carolina, today I'm going to ask you, are you ready to make your voices heard?
02:37Do we believe in freedom?
02:41Do we believe in opportunity?
02:45Do we believe in the promise of America?
02:50And are we ready to fight for it?
02:56And when we fight, we win.
