Wang Ling, who is still determined to lead a normal life, becomes aware of the Shadow Stream’s presence but chooses to remain in the background, hoping to avoid unnecessary attention. However, when Sun Rong is ambushed by Shadow Stream assassins, he has no choice but to step in. Despite his usual laid-back attitude, Wang Ling quietly follows the unfolding situation to ensure Sun Rong’s safety.

Sun Rong, who has been trained in combat herself, tries to fight back but finds herself overwhelmed by the skill of the assassins. Just when it seems like things are about to take a dire turn, Wang Ling intervenes in his typical nonchalant fashion. With a flick of his finger, he eliminates the threat in an instant, effortlessly defeating the assassins without revealing his full power to anyone, including Sun Rong.

This episode further builds the dynamic between Wang Ling and Sun Rong, as Sun Rong begins to notice Wang Ling’s quiet protectiveness. Although she remains unaware of his true abilities, she starts to feel a mysterious bond with him, intrigued by how he always seems to be around in moments of crisis.
