00:00The idol in Sardinia, the regional director Luca Basile, almost 150 jobs unlocked with
00:29the new ABB. Training, school and work meet with the ABB LAB in the Lombardy region.
00:35Hydrogen Expo 2024, the news of the world of hydrogen is shown in the Piacenza Expo pavilions.
00:43Samsung and IFA 2024, artificial intelligence, connectivity and energy saving,
00:51towards the 68th National Congress of the Orders of the Engineers of Italy.
00:57Porto di Civita Vecchia, the works begin to separate the historical port from the commercial one.
01:17L'Idol Italia inaugurates its first regional management in Sardinia, in the territory of
01:21Sardinia. The chain of the GDO with 750 points of sale throughout the national territory has
01:27presented today the new ABB made thanks to an investment in the territory of 70 million
01:32euros. It is the 12th logistics center of L'Idol in Italy capable of creating 140 new
01:37jobs for an overall organic of about 650 people throughout the island. During the
01:43day, which saw among others the participation of the president of L'Idol Italia, Massimiliano
01:48Silvestri, it was also announced that another 40 points of sale will be opened in the peninsula.
01:53The response of the territory has been absolutely positive. I myself, first of all,
01:59participated in some selection activities. I must say, I recognize that many young Sardinians
02:07who then applied, I really found a great enthusiasm on their part, a great
02:13desire to get involved and to grow professionally. Some of these already had a
02:19working stability, but it brought with it, perhaps, something more. The realization of the new
02:26regional management comes from the need of L'Idol Italia to face the continuous expansion
02:30on the territory and will allow to shorten the distances and significantly reduce the kilometers
02:35traveled for the supply of the current 23 points of sale to Sardinia. The structure will be
02:40operational from the 1st of October and will allow to take a step forward towards an increasingly
02:44sustainable and efficient logistics, with a saving of more than 5,000 tons of CO2.
02:49This area has been identified to finally have a lab in Sardinia, which will then supply all
02:55L'Idol companies in Sardinia, so we no longer have to depend on the offshore, but
03:03there will be everything necessary to distribute L'Idol products in all
03:09the shops of Sardinia.
03:14If on the one hand for young people it is increasingly difficult to find the dream job, on the other hand it is increasingly difficult
03:19for companies to find qualified and specialized girls and boys. To connect school and
03:25work, Regione Lombardia launches LabLab, a free web app that communicates students and
03:31companies in an efficient and organized way, offering students the possibility of visiting
03:37a productive reality for a day, among those registered at lablab.regione.lombardia.it.
03:43Not to be underestimated, the opportunity for families to participate in the choice of possible
03:47courses offered to their children is the role of the teachers of the school of origin who
03:52act as promoters and tutors in the use of the web app. From the other end of LabLab,
03:58companies that create their profile and offer different opportunities of direct experience
04:02to young people, to make them touch the working reality with their hands.
04:06It is a tool that will help us to revolutionize the world of orientation and therefore our goal is to
04:12bring more and more our students, our female students, into the world of work,
04:18where they are created and produced, to first of all make them know a world of work that is no longer
04:23like what our parents may know, because the evolution that is also taking place
04:29thanks to digitization and artificial intelligence allows the world of work to evolve
04:37very quickly. We have invested a few hundred thousand euros. To give you some data, I can tell you
04:43that we have opened the registrations to the platform, to our economic and productive world,
04:48for 15 days. We already have more than 250 companies that have registered and that have
04:54uploaded their profile. It is an extremely simple, direct web app. We also have an
05:02operational secretariat that will also help the company, the smallest one, which does not have a
05:07marketing office or which does not have, perhaps, the person who can spend time loading all the
05:12notions, the information related to their own sector, precisely so as not to leave anyone behind
05:17and give the opportunity to all companies to be there. For the Lombardy region, the choice to
05:23create a free web app that bridges between students and companies is strategic.
05:28Lombardy alone makes up more than 30% of the national formation. We believe that this is the right way
05:37and we will continue to invest more and more in this area.
05:44It is not only a showcase of the main novelties of the hydrogen sector, but also a meeting place
05:48where partnerships and agreements are born. At Hydrogen Expo, the most important Italian and European
05:53meeting is confirmed, entirely dedicated to the hydrogen sector, to which
05:58the employees can not miss. In fact, the Memorandum of Understanding between L'Isotta Fraschini Motori
06:03di Fincantieri and Ecomotive Solutions was signed today with the important financing of the Puglia region.
06:10The agreement we signed today with Ecomotive Solutions involves a collaboration between the two companies
06:17that allows the development and the hydrogen conversion of a segment of our product portfolio.
06:22It is an accelerator of the process that we have in mind regarding the introduction and renewal of
06:28Isotta Fraschini technologies. Specialized in alternative fuels, Ecomotive Solutions
06:34enthusiastically accepted the agreement with Isotta Fraschini Motori.
06:37Isotta Fraschini has always been the name of excellence in this world and, consequently,
06:43it is a partnership that, in my opinion, could have a very broad application background,
06:50with an engine of this kind, with our technology applied.
06:55The only one worldwide is the MG 500 H2, the first hydrogen road washing machine,
07:02produced by Green Machine and presented for the first time in Italy by Green Force,
07:07right at Hydrogen Expo.
07:09The washing machine is already in operation in some European countries and we think the time has come
07:16to launch it in Italy. As soon as the supply structure in Italy will be operational,
07:23I think we will start to fill the Italian streets and squares with our products.
07:29At the Piacentina fair, Toyota Materia Landing presents its Trigo 80 9FB MT35,
07:37an electric carriage converted with a hydrogen-powered power unit.
07:41The use of energy is done through a block inserted in the place of the traditional battery,
07:48which gives the use of hydrogen, which is combined with oxygen and then the electric energy is generated.
07:55The only resulting products are water and heat.
08:00Committed to the realization of the first six public hydrogen refueling stations in Italy
08:05is Maximator Italy.
08:07The Maximator Hydrogen range allows us to offer on the market refueling stations
08:14that are able to guarantee reliability and performance that would make them already usable
08:25with a circulating fleet of cars and vehicles that we hope will be born as soon as possible.
08:37Samsung has presented to IFA its AI version for everyone, demonstrating how artificial intelligence
08:44can improve everyday life, making devices communicate with each other
08:48and clearly improving the energy efficiency of appliances and devices.
08:53It is no coincidence that Samsung predicts that by the end of 2024 there will be 200 million Galaxy devices
08:59powered by artificial intelligence in the hands of users,
09:03including smartphones, computers and other devices.
09:06The powerful Samsung SmartThink ecosystem boasts over 500 million connected devices
09:12and allows you to easily control all Samsung products equipped with AI,
09:17improving the user experience both at home and outside, without forgetting the environment and consumption.
09:22The main theme of Samsung in Berlin is certainly artificial intelligence.
09:27We have participated in the press conference of Apertura and we can say that artificial intelligence
09:34is for the planet, but also for the consumer.
09:37For home electronics, this year we present a truly innovative device,
09:43not only from the point of view of design, as we see, it is without keys, without knobs,
09:47a 7-inch screen where I can obviously control all the functions of the device.
09:53We will launch at the end of this year, as a precursor of this new era of washing machines,
09:59the 18-10 washing machine, 18 kg of washing up to 18 kg of washing and up to 10 kg of drying,
10:06with a heat pump thanks to which the consumption is very low.
10:10Another great innovation of Samsung, where all the best of artificial intelligence is applied,
10:16is the JetBot Combo, a vacuum cleaner that sucks, washes, recharges and empties the dust directly,
10:26you don't have to do anything, it's very easy to use, obviously thanks to the SmartThings platform
10:33that we are remotely controlling.
10:36On the IFA stage, the latest innovations designed for Samsung TVs were presented,
10:42also these enhanced by artificial intelligence.
10:45Samsung first, thanks to Lifestyle, launched our most successful product, the Frame,
10:52inside our homes, but now it has expanded to all,
10:57so much so that our products, in terms of design, in terms of sharpness,
11:03the shape, the beauty of the TV itself, have nothing to envy to any design product.
11:11This is the IFA 2024 for Samsung.
11:14Air conditioning is also connected via SmartThings and uses artificial intelligence
11:19to optimize its operation, for example by regulating the air flow and turning off
11:24if there is no one in the room.
11:26Comfort and connectivity are central themes for Samsung in the field of air conditioning,
11:31ventilation and heat pumps.
11:33Ettore Giovane, Head of Air Conditioning Business Unit, Samsung Electronics Italia,
11:39tells about the commitment of the company that continues to invest in research and development
11:43to integrate the best technologies and innovation into their solutions.
11:47To help simplify everyday life and monitor consumption,
11:51Samsung also invests in the design of efficient and smart products in a real ecosystem,
11:56SmartThings, which allows to remotely control products, optimize their use and save energy.
12:03Thanks to the AI Energy Mode function of SmartThings Energy,
12:07users can easily control the daily, weekly and monthly energy consumption
12:13of a wide range of devices.
12:24Knowing how to anticipate and understand the meaning of events and knowing how to govern change.
12:29This is the starting point of the 68th National Congress of the Orders of the Engineers of Italy,
12:35under the title Engineering to Govern Change,
12:38in Siena, Fortezza Medicea, from October 2 to 4,
12:42with the pre-opening in Grosseto on October 1,
12:45dedicated to the Network of Young People,
12:47with an appointment in which the theme related to the start of the profession will be addressed.
12:52The Congress intends to be, as always, a moment of reflection on a sort of vision of the world
12:57on the part of our professional category.
13:00To ask ourselves what the prominent events are
13:02and to ask ourselves if we are able to play more early or late,
13:06seems quite banal.
13:08To understand, compared to many paradigm shifts in action,
13:11what the role and function of the order system is,
13:14seems quite unheard of,
13:16also because it presupposes a clear knowledge of the picture
13:19in which we are placed,
13:20of the multiple variables that intervene,
13:23of who our interlocutors are,
13:25of what solutions we are carriers
13:27compared to the changes in action that involve us directly.
13:31The National Congress cannot be the seat in which multiple issues can find a solution,
13:36but it can certainly be the place where some problems can be resolved,
13:41some lines of address can be set and shared,
13:44even in the honest awareness that some open issues,
13:48such as those related to the use of artificial intelligence,
13:51cannot find an immediate solution.
13:53It means that our profession lives,
13:56that it lives, above all, within society,
14:01and getting closer to a Congress
14:03and debating the issues that we face every day
14:06is an absolutely important fact
14:09for which there is great enthusiasm and great ability to reflect
14:13in view of a change in the modalities
14:18with which we approach engineering.
14:21The program is conceived as a container divided into two parts,
14:24a part of debates and updates on issues of actuality
14:28and issues of technical order
14:30that concern the profession and the many actions in action,
14:33a part of comparison between delegates
14:35aimed at concretely identifying
14:38what and how the regulatory system
14:40should do to effectively represent the figure of the engineer.
14:44Issues related to the exercise of the profession
14:47of traditional engineering,
14:50civil engineering, environmental engineering,
14:53for which the lack of raw materials
14:56pushes towards a necessary and indispensable transition
15:01to be able to continue to have the same tenacity of life.
15:05You know, energy is an indispensable source
15:09and knowing that traditional sources are now disappearing
15:12is for us a push towards new sources
15:16and therefore towards new experiences.
15:19So this is a topic that will certainly be debated.
15:22We will tackle the issue of the transformation of cities,
15:27urban regeneration,
15:29the elimination of soil consumption.
15:32You know, Italy is unfortunately one of the nations
15:34in which soil consumption has increased,
15:36so going towards building on the built
15:40is an absolutely essential need.
15:43Finally, we will talk about new engineering,
15:45which are now those that prevail
15:47in the field of our activities,
15:50biomedical engineering,
15:52computer engineering,
15:56engineering related to the use of artificial intelligence,
16:00which is the theme that will certainly constitute,
16:04not only for this congress, but for the future,
16:07one of the essential elements
16:09for the exercise of the profession of engineer,
16:11in which it is fundamental, however,
16:13that the professional has skills,
16:15especially scientific ones,
16:18to be able to use this extraordinary tool,
16:21which, however, must be controlled.
16:22The congress is structured on two cities,
16:25the city of Siena and Grosseto.
16:26This is certainly an interesting novelty
16:30that also contributes to make sure
16:32that the congress is no longer a local event,
16:37but rather extended to the entire community.
16:40The other element is that of the opening of civil society,
16:42which is fundamental for the exercise of the profession of engineer.
16:45We are the ones who protect the safety of the citizen,
16:49but it is necessary that the citizen realize this
16:52and ask the engineer for more qualified services.
17:00And that is why we are fighting
17:03to make registration compulsory at dawn,
17:05which we consider essential for the exercise
17:08of a profession as delicate as that
17:11of the care of the safety of the citizens.
17:16An important turning point for the Port of Civitavecchia.
17:20The start of work for the new access to the historic basin
17:23and the connection with the antemurale
17:24will transform the face of the port and the city.
17:27The work, financed by the PNRR,
17:29which has finally seen the start of work in these days,
17:32will conclude with the test in May 2026.
17:35The President of the Port Authority of the Martirreno Centro Settentrionale Pino Mussolino
17:41has illustrated the interventions and work planned,
17:44which will see a total investment of 81 million euros.
17:47The work includes the opening of a new access to the south,
17:50making a separation between the historical port and the commercial port,
17:54with the consequent recovery of the historical,
17:57cultural and archaeological values of the Roman port.
18:00It will also be made a cliff with two roads,
18:03dedicated respectively to the terminal cruise
18:05and the historical area of the port,
18:07together with a new pedestrian area.
18:09Among the novelties, the project of the historic port of the Jockding Marina,
18:13which will be able to accommodate ships up to 160 meters
18:17and which promises to generate a significant income for the local economy.
18:21The immediate economic advantage
18:24is the fact that we can restart with the project of the historic port of the Jockding Marina,
18:28which I remember had proponents
18:31who are willing to make an investment of about 30 million euros in equity.
18:35The standard calculation is 1.6-1.8 jobs for ships,
18:42we will have 140 ships, you do the basic calculation.
18:45In addition, all the induction and all the indirect that an activity of this kind can create,
18:50from the reception activity to the activity of new professions.
18:52The goal is to create a comprehensive cycle
18:56that allows the city to live more and better the port in the part where it can.
19:00The port to have a greater competitiveness,
19:02an image also renewed from this point of view
19:05and then create further savings.
19:06One of the goals is to improve the connection between the historical port and the city,
19:11with the creation of a green space that will integrate with the walkway of the Marina di Civitavecchia.
19:16Looking at the aspect of development,
19:18our great challenge is to slowly break away from that connotation
19:25that Civitavecchia has had for many years, the industrial city,
19:29gradually becoming something different,
19:32a city that begins to open not only to cruise tourism,
19:37but also to tourism of proximity,
19:40also induced from a qualitative level of those who arrive,
19:44who have very important economic and financial availability.
19:46The opening to the south and the historical basin look to the future,
19:50creating new economic and working opportunities,
19:53both for the port and for the city.

20:23Bergamo, new clean heat for 11,000 houses.
20:29Mountain, extinct the ice of Prua.
20:33The A2A heating system in Bergamo is enriched with clean heat
20:37thanks to the Rea d'Almine thermal power station.
20:40From next autumn, in fact, the heat waste produced by the Grintesis plant
20:45will be used in the city, allowing 11,000 more apartments
20:49to enter the already existing heating network.
20:52The project, born in 2019 with the signing of the agreement between A2A and Rea d'Almine,
20:57has now been presented to the thermal power station
21:00in the presence of corporate and institutional leaders.
21:03The total investment is 30 million euros.
21:06We have completed the work that will allow, thanks to this industrial collaboration,
21:10to provide green heat, that is, heat recovery and waste,
21:15from our thermal power station to the Bergamo heating network,
21:19which will be able to extinguish several thousand heaters
21:23with a CO2 reduction balance equivalent to about 100,000 trees,
21:29and 15,000 tons of CO2 removed from the environment and from the city of Bergamo every year.
21:34Today's fourth generation heating is the future,
21:38because it allows to bring decarbonized heat to the homes.
21:42The network of Bergamo today is an 87 km network and the planned extension is 22 km,
21:47this gives the idea of the amount of heat that can be brought.
21:51The efficiency of the Rea d'Almine system goes from 27% to 80%,
21:57so this gives the idea of how important it is to recover both electricity and heat in these plants.
22:04This project is one of the projects that is part of the contract with Europe,
22:10the city of Bergamo, to be a real leader in decarbonization issues.
22:16We have an important appointment that we cannot miss,
22:20which is that of the agreement that we signed with the European Union
22:24for the zeroing of CO2 from here to 2030.
22:29It is a fundamental part of the agreement with two companies that are of particular relevance.
22:35It is a goal that we are particularly proud of.
22:42On the southern side of Monte Rosa, the second highest peak in the Alps,
22:45the ice floe is extinct, there is no more.
22:48In the 1800s it was as large as 112 football fields,
22:51today it is only a sea of rocks and debris,
22:53while the emptiness of the glacier begins to be colonized by new ecosystems.
22:57Only small snow clumps are visible,
23:00the result of the last late snowfalls of spring 2024.
23:04To take this photo was the third of the six stages of the Caruana di Ghiacciaio 2024
23:09and the national campaign of the Environmental League in collaboration with Cipra Italia
23:13and with the scientific partnership of the Italian Glaciological Committee,
23:17which took place from August 18 to September 9, 2024,
23:21on the Alpine glaciers of France, Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Friuli, Slovenia and Veneto.
23:26It should be noted, then, that on the southern slope of Monte Rosa,
23:29also the Dimitrofialflua glaciers, i.e. the Glacier delle Piode and the Sesia Vigne,
23:33do not pass well.
23:35Since the 1980s, they have retreated more than 600 meters in line.
23:39The climate crisis is waiting for the state of health of the glaciers.
23:42The high temperatures not only put in suffering those below 3,500 meters,
23:47but also the glaciers located in the highest areas.
23:49With the thermal zero, at increasingly high altitudes,
23:52there is less accumulation of snow and a loss of ice mass is recorded.
23:56However, it also concerns the increase of extreme weather events,
23:59at a rate of 101, those recorded in the regions of the Alpine Arch
24:02in the first seven months of 2024 by the Observatory Città Clima di Le Gambiette.
