00:00Whether inside or outside the country, especially in Malaysia,
00:04various government agencies are still helping
00:08to promote the Halal-certified Filipino products and services.
00:13And on the third day of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase,
00:17various programs and shows are still ongoing.
00:20Let's take a look at this.
00:23Since the launch of the Halal-Friendly Philippines campaign on January 1 this year,
00:28the Department of Trade and Industry has continued to provide programs and initiatives
00:34that are under this campaign.
00:37Number one, we've been doing a collaborative effort
00:40with all the members of the Philippine Halal Export Board.
00:43That's why we have reached 3,000 Halal-certified products and services.
00:48This is far from having a 20% increase every year
00:52in the number of Halal-certified products and services.
00:55We are talking to our Halal certification bodies
00:58about how we can help other regions
01:00to facilitate the pricing and regulation of our certifications.
01:05That's why from the Philippines to Malaysia,
01:09DTI continues to introduce the current state and initiatives
01:14for the Halal industry to the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia and other government agencies
01:22to achieve the goal of becoming the premier Halal hub
01:25and destination of the Philippines in the Asia-Pacific region.
01:29The focus of the President is to prioritize the Halal industry in the Philippines
01:35and to attract more to the Philippines to make the Philippines a Halal hub.
01:40The expectation is that we'll be able to generate P130 billion worth of investments
01:45and also generate 20,000 jobs because that's how big it is.
01:49And one of the ways they did it
01:51is the continuous unity in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase or MIHAS.
01:57We have 20 exporters present at this year's MIHAS
02:02and we're very happy that they're here with us today.
02:05They represent a cross-section of Halal products.
02:08We do hope that they come back next year
02:10and that when they do come back next year,
02:12more will come and join them as they see the potential of MIHAS.
02:20In the continuation of the third day of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase or MIHAS,
02:25there was an opportunity for the attendees of the trade event
02:28to listen and gain knowledge from the experts
02:32when it comes to the Halal industry of their country.
02:35And this is what they call the Knowledge Hub.
02:38In its opening, the CEO of Matrade, Datuk Mod Mustafa Abdul Aziz,
02:43also gave opening remarks.
02:46Datuk Mod Mustafa Abdul Aziz.
02:49Features interactive and dynamic panel discussions
02:53which aims to provide invaluable information on market assess,
02:57entry strategies, sourcing requirements,
03:01opportunities and challenges as well as trends that shape the global Halal market.
03:06MIHAS also showcased the creativity,
03:09rich heritage and culture of Malaysia when it comes to Islamic modest fashion
03:14through a fashion show
03:16that they organized in collaboration with Malaysian Official Designers Association or MODA.
03:23Along with the launch of the Halal industry in the Philippines,
03:26we can also use the proceeds from this
03:31so we, Filipinos, should support any religion.
