00:00Previously on the Amazing Race Celebrity Edition, in Soweto, country stars Brooke and Adam
00:11came out on top.
00:12You are the first team to check in.
00:15But the wheels came off for comedian Pete and wife Bridget, who were lucky to survive.
00:24This is a non-elimination leg.
00:26It's virtual pit stop.
00:27I'd suggest you get on your way.
00:29Tonight, the race continues.
00:31Right here in the cradle of humankind in South Africa, the location for the sixth leg of
00:36the Amazing Race Australia.
00:38The wilds of Africa.
00:40This is a moment I think we remember forever.
00:42Let's eat, eh?
00:44Yeah!
00:45We'll bring our celebs closer together.
00:48You want to feel as though there's a nation pushing you on, rather than weighing you down.
00:53But one wrong move spells disaster.
00:57You're way behind now.
00:59That's very helpful.
01:00Who will be heading out of Africa?
01:03Oh.
01:04What?
01:05One of the cars just drove back.
01:06Really?
01:27Oh, there we go.
01:57The race continues.
01:58It's time to leave the hustle and bustle behind.
02:00Catch a taxi to Mapad Lane Village and search for your next clue.
02:04Let's go.
02:05Mapad Lane Village.
02:06We thought we were finished, but we're not.
02:07Oh my gosh, we're going rural?
02:08Let's go.
02:09Teams will travel from the virtual pit stop in Soweto to a geographical marvel, Machalisburg.
02:21Here the mountain range is half the age of the earth.
02:24You'll find a fascinating world of tribal cultures, a Noah's Ark of amazing animals.
02:29The African countryside is a kaleidoscope of incredible landscapes and vibrant villages.
02:36Teams will make their way to Mpandle, a rural village where they'll find their next clue.
02:41And off they go.
02:43The race is on.
02:44Coming in number one, it feels good.
02:45Yeah, it's different.
02:46It feels like we've done a gig.
02:47You know when you have that calm down after a gig, you just buggered and exhausted, but
02:48it's like, okay, we're going another one.
02:49We're doing another gig.
02:50That's right.
02:51Cool.
02:52Oh, we're going into the mountains again.
02:53Yeah, this is my jam.
02:54These mountains just give me energy.
02:55I nearly took out the whole car then.
02:56Cool.
02:57Leave the hustle and bustle behind.
02:58Cool.
02:59Let's go.
03:00Let's go.
03:01Come on.
03:02Get in the car.
03:03G'day, mate.
03:04We're back.
03:05G'day.
03:06G'day.
03:07G'day.
03:08G'day.
03:09G'day.
03:10G'day.
03:11G'day.
03:12G'day.
03:13G'day.
03:14G'day.
03:15G'day.
03:17G'day, mate.
03:18We're back.
03:19Yeah, thank you.
03:20I'm buzzing.
03:21That virtual pit stop means that we get a chance to get back up to the top.
03:22We're getting this second opportunity, which in our career doesn't happen often.
03:23No, that's right.
03:24The whole landscape's changed.
03:25We're definitely out of the city.
03:26I love how their mothers carry their children on their back, too.
03:27The race continues.
03:28It's time to leave the hustle and bustle behind.
03:29Let's go.
03:30Mapalang village.
03:31We expect there's going to be a speed bump in front of us.
03:32It's going to be a speed bump.
03:33It's going to be a speed bump.
03:34It's going to be a speed bump.
03:35It's going to be a speed bump.
03:36It's going to be a speed bump.
03:38It feels now important.
03:39We dodged a bullet.
03:40We can't waste this lifeline.
03:41No.
03:42Let's keep going, we're not giving up.
03:43No.
03:44Let's keep going.
03:45We're not giving up.
03:46Just don't come last.
03:47No.
03:48Let's keep going, we're not giving up.
03:49No.
03:50Let's keep going, we're not giving up.
03:51Maybe our new motto should be...
03:52Maybe our new motto should be...
03:53... Just Don't Cum Last.
03:54Here goes.
03:55Why are you playin't—
03:56What happened?
03:57What happened?
03:58Why are you playin't—
03:59Why are you playin't—
04:00You let go!
04:01You let go of her, mate!
04:02I think he's got some Mannheim
04:04I'm at Punggolet Village. Yep, this is it. Good job, Brian.
04:11Thank you, mate. You're the best.
04:14Let's go get the clue. Here it is.
04:18OK.
04:21Detour. Detour.
04:23OK. High kick or paint slick?
04:26Detour is a choice between two challenges,
04:29each with its own pros and cons.
04:32For this detour, teams will decide between high kick or paint slick.
04:37South Africa is made up of 11 different tribes,
04:40each with its own traditions.
04:42Now, the last time I went to a wedding,
04:44everyone was doing the gangnam style. It was a long time ago.
04:47The gangnam style, ain't gonna cut it with the Zulus. No way.
04:53Teams that choose high kick must tap into their inner warrior
04:57and learn a Zulu tribal dance dating back to the 17th century.
05:02The war dance symbolises strength and power
05:05through high kicks and stomping.
05:07When the tribal leader thinks they've nailed their performance,
05:10they'll receive their next clue.
05:12Now, when you go out for a coldie in Australia,
05:15Aussies like to drink from their own glass,
05:17but in Africa, it's a communal thing.
05:20The ukumba is a local version of a schooner
05:23traditionally used to bring people together.
05:26In this memory challenge, teams must replicate
05:29an intricate pattern of colours, lines and dots on their vessel.
05:33Once the local artist is satisfied with their handiwork,
05:36they'll receive their next clue.
05:39I reckon we dance. Do you want to dance?
05:41I feel like we did the tango. Do you want to dance again?
05:43Let's do it. Let's do it. Come on. OK, let's go.
05:45All right, lads. We're on.
05:49High kick or paint slick?
05:51I reckon we go high kick. We're warriors.
05:54Let's go.
05:57Let's go dance.
06:01High kick right here.
06:03Yeah, my brothers.
06:05Hello.
06:07Here's these Zulu dancers.
06:10Beautiful, beautiful men.
06:12Big, fit-looking men. Big, muscly.
06:14They had the shields. Yeah, all the get-up.
06:17Yeah, jingle jangles. Yeah, it was pretty amazing.
06:20Let's go see these dance. Have a go. Watch the dance.
06:23Hu-ha! Hu-ha! Hu-ha!
06:25Yee-haw!
06:35Has there been any action going on?
06:37We're going to see if you have any hemis after this.
06:42Yeah!
06:44Hu-ha! Hu-ha! Hu-ha!
06:46We're warriors. We're warriors.
06:48The kicking is still good, though, is it?
06:51Mate, you better get your legs up there, boy.
06:54Come and join me.
06:56Yes, my brother. How are you?
06:58Oh, I've got my headbands.
07:00I love it.
07:02It is super hot. The African sun.
07:04It's burning. It doesn't let up.
07:06And now we've got to learn how to dance.
07:08And now we've got to learn how to do the Zulu dance.
07:10All done?
07:12All done? Oh, that's as far as I can go. Is that OK?
07:14We don't mind making dicks of ourselves.
07:17Let's just have a go.
07:19Like you're banging.
07:25Shake it, Brookie.
07:27Yeah, baby. Shake it, Brookie.
07:29Yeah, girl.
07:31Let's go, let's go.
07:33One, two, three, four, five.
07:35All righty.
07:37The knees.
07:39We thought we were warriors.
07:41Until we had to drop low.
07:43LAUGHTER
07:45A lot of one, two steps.
07:47Flick, flick here. Flick, flick there.
07:49But anyway, we're just warriors.
07:51LAUGHTER
07:53Boom.
07:55Oh, lift.
07:57OK, thank you.
07:59Oh, gosh, I'm feeling a bit stiff after that.
08:01Can you drive?
08:03High kick or paint slick?
08:05Paint. We have to paint.
08:07We can't dance. Come on, let's go.
08:09This has to be the right way.
08:11Hi. Hello.
08:13Thank God.
08:15Hello, how are you?
08:17Hello, how are you?
08:19OK. I have a game plan.
08:21We had a good system. I remember the colours.
08:23She remembers the dots on the inside.
08:25And when we stick to our system, it never fails.
08:27OK.
08:29Oh, wait. What was it?
08:31Yellow. Red, yellow, blue.
08:33Shit. OK.
08:35Get your head in the game, Emily.
08:37The symmetry of everything, the detail that it required.
08:39You got it? I'm a little stressed.
08:41Same. It's OK.
08:43Black, black.
08:45And then black triangles.
08:47Let's both smash the white, yeah?
08:49We need serenity in this moment
08:51because the last few challenges...
08:53..has been a bit stormy.
08:55So we just need a bit of stillness.
08:57Just slow and steady. Get it right.
08:59I'm actually so proud of myself for how calm I am.
09:01It's calm and peaceful.
09:03It's calming.
09:05I'm learning so much more about myself.
09:07I'm understanding that it isn't all about winning.
09:09The relationship that Emily and I
09:11are building as friends.
09:13All of these experiences that I didn't
09:15really think I was going to get when I came from the race.
09:17Can we swap?
09:19Yep.
09:21OK, table not stable.
09:23I know that.
09:25OK.
09:27Let's go.
09:29Oh, those dogs.
09:31Dance with me.
09:33How hard can a Zooli dance be?
09:35I don't know, have you ever seen them dancing?
09:37Just jumping and stuff?
09:39Probably, but we can jump.
09:41OK, let's go.
09:43Oh, wow.
09:45Even though I've toured the world,
09:47I really do feel like I have not
09:49experienced any of these things that we've done
09:51in the race so far.
09:53Oh, yeah. Out there.
09:57They've chosen the dancing.
09:59Oh, yes, we can do that.
10:01This is an experience of a lifetime.
10:03It was created by them.
10:05Wow, just sent chills down my spine
10:07because that was so amazing.
10:11And when I saw the dance routine,
10:13I was like, we've got this.
10:23That is so cool.
10:25Our strengths would
10:27definitely be that we both
10:29grew up dancing.
10:31They can dance.
10:33And that's it.
10:35This is our opportunity to get in front.
10:37OK, let's do it again.
10:39Good?
10:41Oh, a bit stiff after that.
10:43Oh, yeah.
10:45Good grip.
10:47I'm for paint slick.
10:49Me too, 100% paint.
10:51Paint? Yeah.
10:53Hello. Yay.
10:55Thumbs up. Good job.
10:57Nice little village.
10:59Something going on up here.
11:01Hello. How are you?
11:03Oh, there's a talking Christian.
11:05That guy.
11:09I like that one.
11:11There we go.
11:13It's going in the shade. Smart, boys.
11:15We're not that smart.
11:17Don't give you a seat. It's a long way down there, Billy.
11:19I know. Are you going to be OK?
11:21I don't know. I can't remember the last time I sat on the floor.
11:23Sorry, Oscar.
11:25I'm just doing this, right?
11:27And you're coming over the top.
11:29That is a massive help. Thank you.
11:31It will be.
11:33Do you think that Pete and Bridge
11:35maybe went home?
11:37Maybe they went home from the pit stop.
11:39Let's paint.
11:41Dancing's not my thing.
11:43Not my thing anyway. Let's go.
11:45Hello. Hello.
11:47OK, this is it.
11:49Pete and Bridge.
11:51Oh, you're still here. We thought we lost you.
11:53Yay!
11:55Oh, Pete and Bridge have turned up.
11:57Still alive.
11:59Still alive, just. Welcome, guys.
12:01It's really good that we've made this
12:03friendship with these people that we would never
12:05have met otherwise.
12:07Happy to see you.
12:09You know, they had smiles on their faces.
12:11They jumped up. It was just really special for them to
12:13give us a hug and that they didn't want
12:15us out of the race and we really
12:17feel happy that we went out.
12:19Do you want to do the black lines?
12:21We've got to do the white first.
12:23So that means it's a non-elimination
12:25leg, so which means that the next leg
12:27is an elimination. We thought they might have
12:29been gone, so that makes it interesting.
12:31There's no doubt this will be important.
12:33There's no second chances today. Pressure's on.
12:35We haven't got time to waste.
12:41And then we go.
12:43One. One.
12:45Two. Boom. Boom.
12:47Honey, we don't usually
12:49choreograph dance moves on our
12:51show.
12:53Let's go from the start.
12:55It's hot. It's hot.
12:57It's hard.
12:59Physically, we'll push to our limit.
13:01The heart was racing today.
13:03Let's try it. Let's have a go.
13:05If we get the steps right, we can get ahead.
13:07We'll get at it. Going at it.
13:09Give it a go.
13:19One.
13:21Two.
13:23Three.
13:25Four.
13:27Five.
13:29Six.
13:31Seven.
13:33Eight.
13:35Nine.
13:37Ten.
13:39Eleven.
13:41Twelve.
13:43Thirteen.
13:45Fourteen.
13:47We're not professionals.
13:49Good luck, boys.
13:51One.
13:53Logan and Bev and Brooke
13:55and Adam are very strong
13:57competitors.
13:59And we see them go up and try the
14:01Zulu dance and they're failing.
14:03So this is a big opportunity for us.
14:05Go on. Quickly line up.
14:07Go, girls. You've got this.
14:11My parents are from Mauritius.
14:13Mauritius is very much part of the African continent.
14:15I think it's in my blood. I think their African
14:17descendants is in there somewhere.
14:19So I think that will give me a little bit of advantage.
14:21Okay, ready?
14:23Yes.
14:29Yeah, they've got this.
14:31Four. Five. Six.
14:33And down. Yeah, that's good.
14:41Congratulations.
14:43Oh, good. Thank you.
14:47Nice work, girls.
14:49Thank you so much. Thank you, everyone.
15:01Okay.
15:05It's safari time.
15:09Teams must now head to a local
15:11wilderness reserve
15:13where they'll sign up for a safari surprise.
15:19We're going to Warthogs Bush Lodge.
15:21It's safari time.
15:29I actually think we're doing
15:31alright here, mate. Let's just go have a double check.
15:33I just want to get clarity on whether my
15:35top bottom part connects with the black, mate.
15:37You do yours and I'm going to do mine.
15:39Yep. White, white. Black, black.
15:41White, white, black.
15:43I'm feeling in the zone for two reasons.
15:45I'm a perfectionist. Another reason,
15:47we need to sell this pot to that lady
15:49and make it beautiful.
15:51Come on, pot. Find that little dot on the inside
15:53and that's the front centre part.
15:55Yep.
15:59No?
16:01It's not completely wrong.
16:03This is wrong.
16:05Everything that's on the top touches the top.
16:07Okay, now let's remember
16:09we don't paint pots for fun but we're doing
16:11a pretty good job at it right now.
16:15It's not bad for footballs.
16:17It's fiddly. It's very, very fiddly,
16:19this.
16:21I couldn't even do a triangle.
16:23I had the double handed manoeuvre
16:25and I still couldn't get it right.
16:27Da Vinci would have rolled over in his grave.
16:29Don't be, don't be.
16:31Let's go.
16:33Let's go, Bam.
16:35We're trying to draw the warrior within.
16:37We warriors, baby.
16:39Up the wires.
16:41We got this.
16:43I got this.
16:47Look at these boys.
16:49They're looking good.
16:51They've surely got this. This is their bag.
16:55Come on, baby.
16:57Come on, baby.
17:01We're not as fit as you.
17:03We got it.
17:05Thank you, my brother.
17:17Good job, boys.
17:19It's safari time.
17:21Let's go.
17:23She had nice,
17:25straight, thick lines.
17:27That is beautiful, Em.
17:29My wife would be really proud of me right now.
17:31She's going to be like,
17:33when I ask you to help me paint,
17:35you always say no and here you are painting.
17:37Everything's right.
17:39It's our plot.
17:41This is a beautiful plot.
17:43Lovely colours.
17:45Good dots.
17:49Yes!
17:51Thank you so much.
17:53It's safari time.
17:57All right, this in?
17:59All I'm going to say
18:01is I'm so glad we didn't choose a dance.
18:03I actually think
18:05we chose right.
18:07Same.
18:09We've got it this time.
18:11I feel like I'm becoming
18:13a Zulu.
18:15We just like to keep going.
18:17I guess that's always been our thing.
18:19We say this is similar to how we're approaching
18:21a race, same as our marriage.
18:23We look after today and hopefully tomorrow
18:25we'll look after itself.
18:27That's kind of our motto and has been
18:29and we just keep sticking around for more and more
18:31tomorrow.
18:33Yeah! That felt good.
18:35That felt good.
18:37That felt good.
18:43We did it, guys.
18:45Come and check this out.
18:49You guys did really good.
18:51We did it!
18:53Let's go.
18:55It's safari time.
18:57Let's go.
18:59Oh my gosh, I just saw a monkey.
19:01A little tiny monkey.
19:07Oh.
19:15Okay, I've got your hat.
19:17Thanks.
19:19Sign up board.
19:21Oh my gosh, we're first.
19:23Oh my gosh.
19:25Let's do herbivore.
19:27Make yourself at home. I guess we're staying here tonight.
19:29This is so nice. Let's get a glass of wine.
19:31It's like a South African
19:33safari dream and there's a pool
19:35and a view of like a safari
19:37land.
19:39Hi, little man.
19:41Make ourselves at home.
19:43We will, baby.
19:45I'm not trying to get perfect here.
19:47I'm trying to get better than shithouse.
19:49To be honest, mate, with some of the challenges we've had
19:51finding this somewhat therapeutic.
19:53Yeah.
19:55My first international medal was actually
19:57in art. I got it in primary school.
19:59I'm really proud of it.
20:01Sweet.
20:03Yeah.
20:11Wow, thank you.
20:15Thank you very much.
20:17It's
20:19safari time.
20:21It goes all the way to the bottom
20:23but the
20:25edges have still white.
20:27Yes. My hands are shaking because it's been
20:29a nerve-wracking day.
20:31A little problematic but we live to fight another day.
20:33Holding this tiny toothbrush,
20:35our hands are shaking. I'm glad we weren't
20:37operating on anybody. We're holding a
20:39paintbrush, not a toothbrush.
20:41I'm still not
20:43recovered. Yeah, you just dab it.
20:45Don't make it too big.
20:47Good. Jeez, you're getting around
20:49the dots and everything. Going well
20:51here, the boy. And here it is, the final
20:53touch, the piece of resistance.
20:55That's it. Bring it over.
20:57That's good.
20:59Yeah.
21:01Thank you so much.
21:03Yes.
21:05Yes.
21:07Thank you. Thank you very much.
21:09It's pretty exhilarating because we feel like we're back in it now.
21:11We've made up some time and now we're walking out
21:13a minute after Billy and Oscar.
21:15Oh my days.
21:17It's safari
21:19time.
21:21Safari.
21:23Warthog's bush lodge.
21:27Let's go.
21:37Safari.
21:39Jacuzzi.
21:41One bit.
21:43Love a bit of glamping,
21:45never done it before, never used the word.
21:47Growing up, we never did no
21:49camping. We usually just
21:51camp in each other's rooms.
21:53Because there was only three for
21:5512 kids. Times have changed
21:57and bodies got bigger
21:59so we need bigger beds.
22:01Thank you, sir. Thank you.
22:03Kirby Fort. Look, I'm not
22:05a vegetarian. I do love meat. Carnivore.
22:07Let's do it.
22:09Beautiful.
22:21You dancing girls.
22:23You smashed it.
22:25We've all really messed all the
22:27teams. We're making great friendships.
22:29Hello. We met people
22:31we would never ever come across
22:33in our everyday life.
22:35The chillies, like I just would never have
22:37come across these guys.
22:39I'm never
22:41going to meet Thorpey. Where would I meet Thorpey?
22:43I'd be like, I don't go to pool.
22:45Oh, Billy and Oscar.
22:47Peter Hillier, I've met Pete
22:49and hit it off with Bridget.
22:51Everyone
22:53is awesome.
22:55I think we're in for
22:57a good night. We love entertaining.
22:59We love camping. We love camping. Under the South
23:01African stars. We love this stuff.
23:03We really actually do.
23:05Don't miss a moment of the action.
23:09With full episodes of The Amazing
23:11Race Celebrity Edition
23:13on TenPlay.
23:15To cap off a
23:17massive day, our teams will share
23:19very special experiences.
23:21Helping the reserve rangers
23:23feed the carnivores and herbivores.
23:25I'll sit with you.
23:27No, it's okay.
23:29I swear that's a rhino up there.
23:31Or something with a tail.
23:33There's a zebra there.
23:35Oh my gosh.
23:37Wow. A bit different
23:39to the Dubbo Zoo.
23:41They're so much
23:43bigger in real life.
23:45Oh my god.
23:47He's having a good look too.
23:49We got your dinner.
23:51We're about to feed
23:53the king of the jungle
23:55a lion in his
23:57natural habitat.
23:59He's looking at you Christian.
24:01Look at that. Let's do it.
24:05Oh my god.
24:11We provided for the
24:13king of the jungle.
24:15Never thought we would be here
24:17in Africa feeding these
24:19wild bees. King of the jungle
24:21baby.
24:29He is a big boy. He's got those hungry eyes
24:31you know. He's ready for
24:33some tucker.
24:35Once you take the food out of your hand
24:37you say, good boy.
24:39Throw in.
24:41Take it.
24:43Good boy.
24:45It's almost like we were in a dream
24:47because they were surreal.
24:49Oh wow.
24:51You're amazing.
24:53This is a moment I think we remember forever.
24:55It's truly special.
25:01After the ultimate African safari
25:03it's time for our teams to catch
25:05their breath and unwind.
25:07Good on ya fellas.
25:09Does Pete cook at home?
25:11He cooks a great steak.
25:13Oh my god. This is a South
25:15African barbeque.
25:17You know the sausages?
25:19They're good.
25:23It's a really special night
25:25actually because we get to hang out with our
25:27fellow teammates and relax.
25:29Just put all the competitiveness aside
25:31and just focus on how special
25:33this whole experience is.
25:35I must say
25:37I was stoked when I saw you
25:39on this race.
25:41Well I am a fan of the show.
25:43Is your competitive juices
25:45doing this anywhere near
25:47what they were when you actually swam?
25:49I'm competitive in this.
25:53You can flick into it
25:55pretty quickly but this is different
25:57as well to what that is.
25:59I mean the pressure was
26:01it was immense.
26:03I was world champion
26:05when I was 15.
26:07You want to feel as though
26:09there's a nation pushing you on
26:11rather than weighing you down.
26:13It's a fine balance though
26:15isn't it? And in the pool
26:17it can become really obvious.
26:19You can drown in the Olympics
26:21right before the race.
26:23So Australia hasn't won
26:25a gold medal
26:27and I was there first night
26:29and I was nervous
26:31going into
26:33the final and it was
26:35not until I heard the roar
26:37of the crowd. This was louder than I'd ever
26:39heard. I did that
26:41thing that you do when
26:43you get in trouble. I did the little smile
26:45laugh thing
26:47and that was it.
26:49I just needed a moment out of my head
26:51and I was like I'm ready to do this
26:53and owned what I was doing.
26:55He was pushing world records
26:57at 15. We have a 15 year old
26:59son who is amazing by the way
27:01but I can't imagine him
27:03handling that kind of pressure.
27:05I can't imagine many 15 year olds doing that.
27:07Hey Bim
27:09you said UFC
27:11has taken you many places but what would you have done
27:13if you weren't fighting?
27:15What would you have been doing? I played footy
27:17for a bit and I gave footy up
27:19to start fighting.
27:21I think at one point I didn't think I was going to be
27:23plus 18. Yay!
27:25Is that how rough it was?
27:27I was a little rat bag.
27:29Really? Yeah.
27:31I just used what I was good at
27:33and I steered it into something
27:35that will make me better in
27:37life. And you're good at it.
27:39That's the change I did.
27:41I turned it from something bad to
27:43something good. That's really positive.
27:45Fighting has given me a life that
27:47I have never experienced
27:49or anything like that. I love that.
27:51I can't wait to come watch you fight. The thing is the UFC
27:53is always sold out.
27:55Country music, I hope that takes off
27:57like UFC.
27:59We're getting there.
28:01We're getting there.
28:03What do you guys reckon? Looks pretty good.
28:05Let's eat.
28:07Cheers.
28:09Cheers.
28:11This smells
28:13amazing. I am so happy.
28:15We've all been racing this crazy
28:17adrenaline filled adventure
28:19and everyone's starting to open up.
28:21We've now become friends
28:23and family for life.
28:25This race is the silver lining to missing out on the
28:27World Cup.
28:31Oh yeah!
28:33We're all
28:35on the amazing
28:37race. No
28:39one wants to
28:41come in last place.
28:43No, no.
28:45Put a smile
28:47on our face.
28:49Hey!
28:51Cheese everybody!
28:53Yeah!
28:55That was fun.
28:59Refueled, refreshed and still
29:01racing. Our teams will be leaving
29:03the reserve in the order in which they arrived.
29:05Roadblock.
29:07Who has the winning smile?
29:09A roadblock is a challenge
29:11only one team member can perform.
29:13This part of Africa
29:15isn't just famous for wildlife.
29:17The cradle of humankind is one of the richest
29:19fossil sites in the world.
29:21It is home to the largest concentration
29:23of human remains anywhere in the
29:25world. With fossils dating back
29:27over two million years.
29:29The most common fossil you'll find are teeth.
29:31See, it's the enamel. It's the hardest
29:33substance in our body. It lasts for millions
29:35and millions of years.
29:37And if we're lucky,
29:39we might find one.
29:41For this challenge, a team member will turn
29:43archaeologist and dig for
29:45a full set of human teeth.
29:4728 in total.
29:49Once the ranger confirms they have a mouthful,
29:51they'll receive their next clue.
29:53Oh.
29:55It's as easy as that.
30:03Oh, there's a speed bump, look.
30:05Keaton Bridge.
30:07Who has the winning smile?
30:09You've got a good smile.
30:13That's gotta be you.
30:15You've got a beautiful smile.
30:17It's me.
30:19Who has the winning smile? That's you.
30:21Let's go.
30:23You've got a good smile. Let's go.
30:25Oh, speed bump.
30:27That's good for us.
30:29Look at that. It's an easy choice.
30:31Hopefully I don't have to go to the dentist.
30:33Didn't say that.
30:37That's a good start.
30:39Speed bump, okay. Clean out the ash from the campfire
30:41you enjoyed last night and restock the wood for future
30:43guests. Okay, let's go.
30:45Okay, let's get this cleaned real quick.
30:49Oh my goodness, we're
30:51walking across an African
30:53savannah. This is incredible.
30:55He was running away from us. He must be scared of us.
30:57No, it must be my perfume that I put on.
30:59Bag drop.
31:01We're the first ones there and that is
31:03a good feeling because we're aiming to be
31:05number one. We need to find
31:0728 teeth.
31:09I can't believe that I'm here digging
31:11where some of the oldest human bones in the world
31:13have been found. I'm pretty confident because
31:15I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was growing up
31:17and I thought, yeah, I can do this.
31:19In and out of there
31:21and we'll be in the lead. A needle in a haystack,
31:23a tooth in a pit
31:25of rocks.
31:29Alright, there we go.
31:31This is not the start to the day we needed.
31:33Don't know how long
31:35we're behind anybody.
31:37We got very lucky with the non-elimination
31:39but that's not going to happen again so
31:41if we don't improve, yeah, we're on a plane.
31:47We are desperate to stay in the amazing race.
31:49We want to finish today strong.
31:51I mean, all we really need to do is get ahead of one team.
31:53I would ideally like to get ahead of a few teams
31:55but one team will do.
31:57Alright, let's go.
31:59Come on, Bridget.
32:01Well, I clearly know a tooth when I see it.
32:03Holy Toledo!
32:05What are they? Zebras.
32:07Are they zebras? They're zebras, honey.
32:09I've got bad eyesight.
32:11I can't see.
32:13I can't see.
32:15Are they zebras? They're zebras, honey.
32:17I've got bad eyes. You do.
32:19We don't like roadblocks.
32:21They're quite stressful
32:23to do it all on your own.
32:25But I just went, right, I know what I have to do.
32:27I need to get on my knees, I need to get dirty
32:29and I need to start looking for teeth.
32:31Oh, you've got to dig, dig, dig.
32:33Digging for teeth.
32:35We used to be archaeologists.
32:37Really? Before we were soccer players.
32:39No! I swear, I swear.
32:41Come on, guys.
32:43I'm the biggest shit talker.
32:45Oh, you're trying to scare us, huh?
32:53Can't see them, but we
32:55can hear them.
32:57Hello, fellas.
32:59Yeah, Billy.
33:01One, two, three, four, five, six.
33:05Digging the china here.
33:07There's got to be
33:09an easier way
33:11to look for these bloody teeth.
33:13I have no strategy.
33:15I'm shaking all the dirt.
33:19Sorry, Bob.
33:21I swear to God, I was digging
33:23for quite some time.
33:25And then, okay.
33:27Right now, it's on.
33:29Oh, yeah.
33:31You have to dig deep here, but you've got to
33:33dig smart.
33:35It wouldn't be you getting dirty,
33:37would it, Peter? Nah.
33:39Have a nice little rest.
33:41There you go, Spurge.
33:43Just gardening, that's all it is.
33:45I think this is my challenge.
33:47Indeed, because at home,
33:49I find everything.
33:51Someone's lost something, I've got it.
33:53Without even knowing where it got put.
33:55I still have the boy's baby's teeth,
33:57so I find them every now and then.
33:59Some things look like teeth,
34:01and some are boom, like that.
34:03I began by mapping it out
34:05and just doing section by section.
34:07It's probably best to go slow to begin with,
34:09and make sure you get everyone.
34:11You're going to pick up the pace, Steph.
34:13The other teams, they just
34:15and they're just finding them.
34:17Yeah, I've got one. Yes.
34:19Cool, keep it up, mate.
34:21Hey, Ted Aus, nice.
34:23Good Ausky boy. Look at my boy go.
34:25You are crushing it.
34:27You are the tooth fairy.
34:29If we do it that way, we could end up
34:31with a single one at the end that you can't find.
34:33How many has everyone found? Lots.
34:35Six.
34:37I know you're digging deep.
34:39Yep. You're bloody smashing it.
34:41I'm finding it, I'm finding it.
34:43We both know that we work off praise
34:45and encouragement and positivity.
34:47You could find the teeth.
34:49Yes, yes, yes. You could find the teeth.
34:51Dig a little deep and they're buried
34:53underneath. Yes. Come on, honey,
34:55you've got it. Yes, it is.
34:57I've just found it. Jack!
34:59You smashed that, honey.
35:01Oh, come on, come on, 28, 28 teeth. I know, I know, I know.
35:03Yes!
35:05Oh my god!
35:07Okay, it's another
35:09root info. Drive deeper
35:11into the cradle of humankind.
35:13Find Nyrox Sculpture Park
35:15and search the grounds for Bo at the next pit stop.
35:17Teams will self-drive
35:19from the cradle of humankind.
35:21You'll find me here, hidden
35:23at the Nyrox Sculpture Park.
35:25This famous outdoor gallery
35:27displays artworks inspired by the area
35:29including these
35:31early whites. This is
35:33Implants and it's the location for the pit stop
35:35for the sixth leg of the Amazing Race Australia.
35:37Just look for the teeth.
35:39The last team to arrive
35:41may be eliminated. Let's go.
35:43Just some of the things
35:45you've got to do for your charity, you know.
35:47Sometimes you might have to pull a couple of teeth out
35:49just to win a few challenges.
35:51Yeah, I knock teeth out for a living. I don't
35:53usually go digging for them.
35:55You're going well, Osk.
35:57You're going well. Keep going, Chloe.
35:59Chloe's got
36:0116, Steph.
36:03Ty, give us a count on how many we've got.
36:05Yeah, you've got 16 there, bud.
36:07It's like a real
36:09archaeological dig.
36:13And again. Yay!
36:15Good job, Christian. Mums are
36:17renowned for finding things in the
36:19house. I feel like I find these teeth
36:21very quickly. I went block
36:23to block, moving the soil
36:25and sometimes shaking the soil through if I
36:27thought I'd missed something. But it was
36:29about not leaving that block until I had done
36:31all the soil.
36:33Oh, well done, Bridge.
36:35Ready to go?
36:37We are absolutely back in the race now.
36:39This is our Stephen Bradbury moment, Bridgeman. Instead of skating past
36:41athletes that I don't even remember, we're going to skate past
36:43Ian Thorpe.
36:45One to go. Boom!
36:51Hey. Hey.
36:53I can't believe that we have arrived
36:55at last. We did an extra
36:57challenge and we're leaving second.
36:59Everyone else is behind us
37:01looking frustrated.
37:03This is our day.
37:05And I'm going to give 90% of the
37:07credit to you. You were
37:09amazing.
37:11Great work, Bridget.
37:13Who knew going to the dentist paid off?
37:15Hurry the last thing. Maybe eliminate it.
37:17Let's go. Come on. I'm pretty sure we're going to remember
37:19it today for the rest of our lives, Bridge.
37:21We just need to now focus, take our time and reading this map
37:23correctly. We came out there
37:25first. We're on the right track.
37:27We came to a T in a second.
37:29Going left. Oh God, please, we can't
37:31stuff this up.
37:33A podium finish is
37:35absolutely within our grasp and maybe
37:37even finish first. We're going to take the 560.
37:39And so
37:41Maglisburg
37:43to the right is our
37:45choice. I think this is the comeback of the century.
37:47It's certainly the comeback of amazing race
37:49history, I think.
37:53KK, essentially, what is the cradle
37:55of humankind?
37:57Essentially, the cradle of humankind
37:59is the first place
38:01where there was the first heartbeat.
38:03It's literally the beginning
38:05of life. Wow. It started
38:07here. It started here.
38:11It's a beautiful day
38:13to come
38:15first. The feeling of exhilaration
38:17is palpable and
38:19we cannot wait to get to the pit stop.
38:23Near Rock Sculpture Park.
38:25Here's hoping for a couple of signs
38:27up here. We want to turn left.
38:31Oh my God, honey.
38:33Your directions were amazing.
38:35Come on. Let's go.
38:37Oh my God, honey. Let's go, hon.
38:39It's got this
38:41serenity about it. There!
38:43There! Oh my God!
38:45Quick! Well, here we go.
38:47You little ripper!
38:49Oh my God!
38:51Yes!
38:53Yes!
38:57That's it.
38:59Welcome
39:01to the cradle of humankind.
39:03Thank you so much.
39:05Thank you. Brooke and Adam,
39:07you are the first team
39:09to check.
39:15Good work, hon. It is a race.
39:17It is high pressure.
39:19But you guys take it in and enjoy it.
39:21We've been through ups and downs
39:23in the whole relationship. We just talk
39:25our way through it. Like we've always said.
39:27Always respect. It sure is.
39:29And if there's a day that either of us are not happy,
39:31it's like we'll move on. But right now
39:33we feel like we're having a ball.
39:35You know how this goes. Hotel upgrade!
39:37Well done. Bring it in.
39:39Thank you. Bring it in, guys.
39:43Super epic.
39:45Good work.
39:47I think we're basically Olympians.
39:49We're Olympians.
39:51Can't believe it.
39:53We're a bit shocked.
39:55They'll probably start following our exercise
39:57routine. I think maybe.
39:59Because it will inspire them.
40:01I feel like we've been driving
40:03half hour, 40 minutes.
40:05This is so confusing. I've got
40:07no idea where we are.
40:09I don't like to hear that.
40:11Hopefully there's a sign that says Bo Ryan.
40:13This way.
40:15Just recount
40:17them for me. They're exactly
40:19what I said it was. Okay.
40:21How many? You've got 27. You need one
40:23more.
40:25Have you taken any of your teeth out to put down there?
40:27Stop you. That'd be cheating.
40:29Your teeth look similar to that.
40:31You're going to find it. I know you are.
40:33I just can't
40:35understand where it could have gone.
40:37The tooth is not there. Whether it's been
40:39accidentally thrown out somewhere. Whatever's
40:41happened. I am going through every
40:43square inch of this box and I
40:45cannot find a sign of it.
40:47It's deaf. Everyone's doing
40:49a good job finding the teeth. You're going well
40:51buddy. 25.
40:53Three more to go. Chloe there's 27.
40:55Three more. Yep.
40:57Check. Shit.

41:21I'm very concerned
41:23we're going home.
41:27I've no idea. I really
41:29don't get it.
41:31Do you agree?
41:33Yeah. Well I agree
41:35that we seem lost now.
41:37Let's just try and get back to where we started from.
41:39At the very least we hope
41:41others are as confused as we are.
41:45Norwalks. Oh let's go.
41:47Flag. Left in here.
41:49Left in here. Let's go.

42:11Here or here?
42:13There was a flag.
42:1517. I know.
42:17We might come
42:19from that way.
42:21This is nice. Yeah. Nice park.
42:23Well here we go.
42:25Watch yourself Emi.
42:27Okay.

43:05third team to check in.

43:59I don't think this is our car.
44:01I don't think so either.
44:03Why did you get in here?
44:05We'll go to another car. I was just going to take it but
44:07good Samaritan that you are.
44:09Let's go.
44:11I would have considered getting
44:13in the ring with Van
44:15when I was actually a training athlete.
44:17He would have
44:19been absolutely ripped apart.
44:21Have you watched him fight before? Yeah.
44:23He is a beast.
44:25He reckons he can swim too.
44:31Oh.
44:33One of the cars just drove back.
44:35Really? Yeah. It looked like Peyton Bridge.
44:39That's what can throw people off is that
44:41there's not that many names on this map.
44:43What's the next name on it?
44:45Um.
44:47Norwich Sculpture Park.
44:49Nice.
44:53Here we are, lads.
44:55Left here, mate. We're up here, lads.
44:57We're up here.
44:59Looks like it.
45:01Alright.
45:03Let's go.
45:05We're running.
45:11Look at that.
45:15Oh, stop.
45:17Bam Bam and Logan.
45:19You are the fourth team to check in.
45:21How's it going?
45:23Very proud of you guys.

45:35Hey, mate. Hello.
45:37Thorpey and
45:39Christian, you are the fifth
45:41team to check in. Awesome.
45:43We've still got a long way to go.
45:45But you guys know, I've said it every day,
45:47if you work together, you can win this thing.
45:55So glad I didn't become an archaeologist.
45:59Found it.
46:01You did so well.
46:03You tried your best.
46:05I saw you work so damn hard
46:07there. I'm sorry.
46:09No, don't you dare say sorry.
46:11Come on.
46:13Yes, finally.
46:15Let's get out of this teeth place.
46:17Route info. Search the grounds of Bo
46:19at the next pit stop. Our only saving
46:21grace is if someone
46:23else got lost.
46:27We need to find somebody.
46:29So we are all
46:31the way back here. We're off the map.
46:33So it's about 22
46:35kilometres to Magadis.
46:37Are you going to drive?
46:39God, you're the best humans in the world.
46:43Three bloody legends.
46:45Just make sure we don't lose
46:47these people and I assume they're going to take us
46:49the right way. So kind of them.
46:51Oh, slow down, slow down, they're
46:53sliding down. What are they doing?
47:05Oh, slow down, slow down,
47:07they're sliding down. What are they doing?
47:19Thank you so much. You were so appreciated.
47:21We're not going home.
47:23We want to keep going on the Amazing Race.
47:25We're going to do it for Cura EB, we're going to do it for the kids,
47:27we're going to do it for our family
47:29and let's bring it on.
47:31You can never give up on the Amazing Race.
47:33It just changes in an instant.
47:37I don't
47:39want to be the bearer of bad news, but one team
47:41is going to leave
47:43today. Are you ready for
47:45emotions? How do you go? Are you an emotional
47:47guy? It's okay,
47:49I'm an emotional person.
47:51You know, I think we, you know, it depends.
47:53I think today it's
47:55all about celebrating their journey
47:57and what they were able to accomplish
47:59to get this far. So I think
48:01the tears are good, but also should be
48:03tears of joy of how far they've
48:05come. Yes, that's the mentality I'm on.
48:07That's the mentality I'm talking about.
48:09I don't know if I can overtake
48:11because there's never like broken lines here. Yeah.
48:15He's going way too slow.
48:19Yeah, that's better. Right now,
48:21I'm thinking we just got to keep going.
48:23We've left it last, but we're
48:25not ones to just give
48:27up. It's got to be a rainy bridge.
48:29The kids will be saying, don't give up, keep going.
48:31What are you doing? This is ridiculous.
48:33Never give up.
48:35There's a flag there.
48:37Okay, we've found it. Is this it?
48:39Careful going through this gate.
48:41Look how many cars are there.
48:43Yeah, they're all here.
48:45No rock sculpture park!
48:47Woo!
48:51That's the flag. There's a flag?
48:53Yeah, one way, there's nothing else here.
48:57This is an awful end to the experience.
49:00Okay, well, there was a first...
49:02I can hear people this way. Okay.
49:04It's private property.
49:06Do not enter.
49:08Oh. Can't be in there.
49:10No entry.
49:14Maybe down there?
49:16We've got to follow the arrows.
49:18Oh, there. Down there. Oh, yeah.
49:20Yeah, here, here.
49:22You ready? Yeah.
49:25Dumelang Lekai.
49:27Welcome to the cradle of humankind.
49:31Pete and Bridget, you are...
49:33the sixth team to check in.
49:35Huh?
49:37I can't do this day anymore.
49:41This is crazy.
49:43Our heads are spinning.
49:45We don't know what is going on.
49:47I can't believe that we're still in the race.
49:49We're still alive. Let's bring on the next leg.
49:51Good on you, guys.
49:53The boys will be proud. We are proud.
49:55Good to see you.
49:57Hello.
49:59Oh, the girls.
50:01We've obviously gone around the long way.
50:03Hi.
50:05Hi.
50:07Dumelang, welcome to the cradle of humankind.
50:11Vahna and Steph, you are the last team to check in.
50:13Mm-hmm.
50:15And...
50:17you are eliminated.
50:19You are eliminated.
50:21Okay.
50:23Unfortunately, girls, your time on the race is over.
50:25What a day.
50:27What a day.
50:29I know.

50:33Every day you were growing and growing, which is wonderful.

50:37the charity Salvation Army,
50:39the work they do for homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse,
50:41domestic violence, especially women.
50:43It means a lot to you.
50:45Yeah, the Salvation Army, Melbourne 614,
50:47it means a lot to so many people.
50:49Sum it up for me.
50:51An adventure of a lifetime.
50:53Yeah.
50:55Absolutely.
50:57I don't think there's a lot of people
50:59that can go in with a friend
51:01and be able to come out maybe stronger.
51:03I don't know.
51:05How is that even possible?
51:07Because I feel like we're very close to begin with,
51:09but, yeah, I definitely think we're closer.
51:11I am proud of us.
51:13We thought we could do even better,
51:15but I'm so filthy.
51:17I hate goodbyes.
51:19And how's just putting all these teeth in front of you?
51:21I know, making us feel really bad.
51:23It wasn't my idea.
51:25It was KK's idea.
51:27Stay smiling.
51:29Bye, guys.
51:31Next time
