00:00So, you're, there's no shame in this, but I'm curious, like, the moment for you, or the thing for you
00:05that's made this story so special, that's got you hooked back into this baseball team,
00:092-4-8-5-3-9-9-7-9-7, your welcome back moment.
00:15I'm not saying this because of, in the light of recent information,
00:19but you could look, there's so many different things that you could look at
00:24that excites you about this team.
00:27For me, it's the way that Parker Meadows has been able to resurrect this season.
00:35Came in, started as the leadoff hitter, we thought, alright, you know,
00:39center field play, being able to steal bases, but just couldn't get on base.
00:44He's the first one that gets sent down to Triple-A.
00:47And since he has been back, it has been fun to watch him steal home runs,
00:53make plays in the outfield, and then at the bat,
00:57he has done a tremendous job of finding ways to get on base,
01:02leading off with a home run, which you missed,
01:04and being a guy that is just exciting.
01:08When they were winning games throughout the course of the season, it was
01:121-0 because it was a terrific performance by the pitchers.
01:16Like, how many times did we talk about Reese Olsen and wasted starts at the beginning of the year
01:20simply because the bats couldn't get it?
01:21They were winning, but it was boring.
01:24Now they're winning, and I wouldn't say that it's edge-of-your-seat excitement
01:28other than yesterday with 13 hits.
01:30It was fireworks from inning one through inning nine.
01:36Yeah, it's hard to find the one thing, right?
01:37Because Scooble has been the constant all year, so you can't really say him.
01:40I mean, he was phenomenal from April to the end of the season here,
01:43flirting with the triple crown. He's a Cy Young winner. He's gotta be.
01:46The bullpen, it's not like you could pin it on any one guy
01:49or any one game that the bullpen solidified.
01:51It just kind of happened.
01:52You know what the moment is for me?
01:54What's that?
01:54It's the Williamsport stuff.
01:56It's coinciding with them calling up Jace Young.
01:59Fine, you're not gonna block him.
02:00Let's see him, right?
02:01You're gonna sell at the deadline? Fine.
02:02Let's see what the young guys have.
02:04And that weekend ends on a Sunday at a Little League ballpark.
02:08What could be more symbolic of, we're gonna just let the kids play?
02:12It's a kid's game at a Little League ballpark,
02:14and we beat the New York Yankees on national TV.
02:18I go back to that as the thing, the moment that really,
02:21aha, the light bulb went off.
02:23They still had the work to do.
02:24They're still doing the work today,
02:26but that's kind of the welcome back moment for me.
02:27Like, oh, hey.
02:29They're starting to do something again.
02:31And they've had to do it repeatedly
02:33because that game in and of itself didn't mean much at all.
02:36They've had to go on this run that started,
02:39I think, the weekend.
02:41Yeah.
02:41They just start, what do we say?
02:43The Cary Carpenter came back the 13th.
02:46Right.
02:46This run started on the 10th.
02:47The Williamsport thing, I think, was right around that same time.
02:50It was.
02:50And when you think about, it's Jackson Jobe now.
02:56It was Jace Young earlier, but it was also Trey Sweeney.
02:59And the Trey Sweeney was so exciting and fun
03:02because it was the addition of a young player
03:05that you've got high hopes for.
03:07And I don't necessarily know that he's the answer at shortstop,
03:11but he has been so much more productive in the field and at the plate
03:16than the guy that played that position earlier.
03:18So what's your welcome back moment?
03:19Maybe it was being at the ballpark last night and realizing,
03:21wait, I can't use cash to buy the beer.
03:23Yeah, it's been a minute.
03:24Welcome back to the Tigers.
03:26Welcome back, baseball.
03:27It's 97-1.
