00:07How you feeling? I'm good. How are you? I'm so excited that you're back. You did We Can
00:11Survive a couple years ago. Yeah. That's wild. It was in LA. Now we're here in New Jersey,
00:16East Coast. Yes. Gosh, can we talk about real quick the journey from there to here? Think
00:20about that time. That's crazy. At the Hollywood Bowl, just kind of almost opening up the show
00:24and now everybody here we're talking to is so excited just to see you. It's so funny.
00:29I feel like a totally different performer from then. I was just starting to dance there.
00:34I was just starting to implement it and figure out how it worked with my songs. I feel like
00:39we've come a long way since then. What was that choreography like back then? Was it just
00:43simple? It was a lot. It was a lot. It was a lot going on. We actually pulled back a
00:48little bit. We were like, this is a lot. Are these shows ever fun when you get to do artist
00:54shows where there's a bunch of them and you get to experiment at all? Yeah, I feel like
00:57it's like no pressure just because everyone's performing. It feels fun. Me and my dancer.
01:03It's like a 20-minute set. It's fun for us. It hits. Yeah, exactly. This kind of wraps
01:08up your North American leg, kind of, of your tour. At least you're performing in North
01:13America. How do you feel about the tour as a whole? Let's recap it. This was my favorite
01:18tour by far I've ever been on. I was playing my biggest venues I've ever played. I think
01:25just lots of memorable shows. I was really proud of the show. We presented the whole
01:30set, the set list. I felt like it flowed really well. I feel like touring has now become one
01:35of my favorite parts of all of this. Especially this tour. I feel like my fans were just really
01:40cool on the last tour. Oh my gosh, absolutely. There's been so many fun side quests along
01:44the way. Obviously, we're in a place where they play hockey. New Jersey, is it the Devils?
01:49The Devils, yeah. We didn't get to catch up about All-Star and you getting to be a part
01:53of that. I want to hear everything about that. How was coaching? Did your brother give
01:58you any intel? You know, I was trying to get opinions from my brother. I'm like, please
02:01help me. I got put into this coach slot and I literally know nothing. I know like four
02:07players. We go to family hockey games, but I didn't know the game. I was like, please
02:13don't look stupid. I don't know what I'm doing. We were just having fun with it. My dad made
02:19me a little clipboard of all the names and what they're good at. Was Bieber the other
02:23coach? Yeah, he was. Two Canadians. Was there any trash talk between the two? I didn't even
02:27think about that. No, Bieber's the best. He's the nicest guy ever. Who's more competitive
02:33between you and Tucker? We're pretty even with it. We're both very competitive. What's
02:39something he'll usually beat you at and what's something you're better at? He's better at
02:43beating me with all sports. I have zero coordination. Get me a ball and I'm terrible. Not true. Dancing
02:51could be a sport. You get him in some traditional dancing. He's now beating me in the musical
02:55side too. He can play guitar and he's nasty at it. That's so cool. Shout out to Tucker.
03:01I had to do a game, of course, because we're here and we can survive 2024. I want to know
03:06how you feel about this Tate McCrazy-ist experience. Very creative. Have you heard
03:12that at all? Yes. What? No. Not that question. I've heard Tate McCrazy before. Tell me your
03:21Tate McCrazy-ist experience with or on a vacation. Any crazy trips that you took? Good story.
03:28I went to Bora Bora this year. Dream spot. We were on the Sea-Doo, a jet ski. We're in
03:34the middle of the ocean. My boyfriend leaned back and the whole Sea-Doo flips. As the current
03:42pulls us away, we're swimming back to get onto the jet ski. I'm so angry. I'm like,
03:47oh my god, how would you flip this? Literally two seconds later, there's three massive whales
03:53ten feet away from us. It was the scariest moment of my life. How did you catch the jet
03:58ski? Were you able to get back to it? Yeah, luckily. Oh my gosh. You know what kind of
04:04whales they were? Huge ones. Very, very big. Scary ones. Yeah. All right, Tate's McCrazy-ist
04:09songwriting session. Anything come to mind when you think about something in the studio?
04:14I would say the ones like X's was definitely like the quickest. That one happened in like
04:1930 minutes. It was like very like random. So I would say that one was like crazy and
04:23doesn't like happen that often. Okay, cool. Wow. Tate's McCrazy-ist concert of yours.
04:29Oh, crazy. By the way, this is like not right English. Tate's McCrazy-ist one of your concerts.
04:37I'd say Atlanta this or no, I would say Seattle at the beginning of this tour. We hadn't like
04:44tried out any of the electronic things yet and like everything broke. Like the whole
04:50door didn't open. Like we had to cut a song because like the system got wrecked. Like
04:54everything was like a mess. Not a good crazy. No. What about concert you attended? Oh, I
04:59haven't attended that many, but I'd say like I'm a big fan of SZA and her concert was incredible.
05:05She's unbelievable. She with the ant stuff going on? Yeah. I don't know what's going
05:10on. I think it's fire. We'll see. Yeah. See what that has to do with it. Yeah. So obviously
05:15we can survive. It's all about supporting strong mental health and supporting that here
05:20tonight. When it comes to it and you've touched on it before and it's such a demanding and
05:23like unpredictable industry, what do you do to make sure you have a solid mental health?
05:28I mean, obviously I have an outlet, which is writing. If I didn't have writing, I would
05:34not be in the position I am today. Music is definitely the thing that I reach to whenever
05:38I'm hitting like my lowest points. Um, but then I also just think having a good like
05:43support system, your family, your friends, making sure you trust them and they fill you
05:47up is like really important. Totally. Is there any misconception, um, when you think about
05:53mental health that like shouldn't be, it should be okay. If that makes any sense, like about
05:58therapy or even talking or I think, um, I think there's still some sort of idea that,
06:05uh, talking about your emotions is like a sensitive or annoying thing to do. I feel
06:11like, um, being open with yourself and honest and honest with your friends to like have
06:16conversations. None, none of, none of it's embarrassing. Right. And I think that's what
06:19like you don't want to, you want to feel cool in front of your friends and you want to vote.
06:22And so like that's, that's so overrated. Right. I feel like just being honest with each other
06:26and being your authentic selves is the only time that you're going to feel actually fulfilled
06:29in a friendship. Um, and then you actually can like see what your friends are going through.
06:34Yeah. Otherwise I feel like you, you don't really know your friends and you don't really
06:37know yourself. Right. That's perfectly well said. And that's what tonight's all about.
