00:00Then, the government's help to those affected by the Hulian Flood.
00:05Some landslides were also recorded in Dominican Hill, Baguio City because of the flood.
00:10The details are in the report of Janice Deniz.
00:18In the aftermath of the Hulian Flood,
00:21the land in the Diplomat Road area in Barangay Dominican Mirador, Baguio City,
00:27four structures were affected by the landslide, including a transient house.
00:33Jessica has been a caretaker at the transient house for 18 years,
00:37but now, landslides occurred in the area.
00:40It's a good thing that there were no visitors when the incident happened.
00:45Yesterday, it rained heavily in one of the abbeys.
00:49Then, in the morning, I noticed that the land was shaking.
00:54At 3.50 a.m., before 4 p.m., our walls suddenly split.
00:58The reason for the incident is that the landslides occurred in the area,
01:03which is why the drainage was blocked.
01:05There was construction work being done in that building.
01:11Maybe, when they didn't expect that the flood would come,
01:18according to a short investigation yesterday,
01:22that's when the landslide occurred.
01:25Meanwhile, the 81 barangays in Abra, Baguio City, Benguet, Ifugao, and Mountain Province were affected by the Hulian Flood.
01:35More than 1,000 families were affected by the landslide,
01:38which resulted in almost 32,000 individuals.
01:42Two houses were totally damaged,
01:44while three were partially damaged in Cordillera.
01:49The DSWD and LGUs have already provided emergency assistance to those affected.
01:55According to the DPWH, all national roads and bridges in Abra, Ifugao, and Baguio City are now passable.
02:04However, there are several road sections in Apayaw, Benguet, Mountain Province, and Kalinga
02:10that are not yet passable due to the landslide incident.
02:14Clearing operations are already underway by the Agency for the Affected Roads.
02:20In Barangay Di Pilat, Vintar, Ilocos Norte,
02:23the road was not passable after the landslide due to the strong flow of water.
02:29Rescue operations were already underway by the members of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office,
02:35Bureau of Fire Protection,
02:37and local rescue groups for the residents affected by the flood
02:41and heavy rainfall in Lawag City, Batac City, Pauay, and other areas in the province.
02:48As a response to the landslides,
02:51Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc led the delivery of relief packs to various evacuation centers.
02:58The DSWD has already sent additional family food packs
03:03to local governments in the Ilocos region
03:06which were immediately distributed to the families affected by the landslide.
