00:00The Commission on Elections in Zocomolec inspected the place where the candidates for the Certificates of Candidacy will be held in the upcoming elections.

00:15The Commission on Elections distributed the preparations for one of the most important part of the elections in 2025,

00:22the holding of the Certificates of Candidacy of the candidates for the national and local positions.

00:28That's why the Commission inspected the Manila Hotel where the activity will be held.

00:34From October 1st to 8th, the candidates for the national positions in the 2025 elections will be hosted here by the COC.

00:43Although this place is big and spacious, the Zocomolec said that they are still limited in the number of seats for the Senators.

00:51They can only include four candidates for the COC, and for the nominees for the party list, only up to three.

00:59The Zocomolec asked the candidates to follow the procedure to avoid confusion and confusion during the holding of the candidature.

01:15if our purpose here is not to make the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy orderly.

01:21For the candidates in the Legislative District, it will be held in the District Offices of the Zocomolec.

01:32For the other local positions, like the Mayor and others, it will be held in the local Zocomolec offices.

01:38The Zocomolec said that they will send all the candidates for the COC to the Zocomolec website.

01:44We will monitor the filing of the candidates throughout the country.

01:49And again, we call on the candidates to use the proper form of the COC.

01:57You might be questioned if it's not in the proper form.

02:00Once it's in the proper form, of course, all the items or data requested for the Certificates of Candidacy must be complete.

02:09Because the issue of the resignation of Alice Cuo as the Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac is hot right now,

02:16if the COC will still hire the former Mayor, the Zocomolec will still accept her.

02:21But it's unlikely that she will be able to run in the election.

02:25Whatever their current situation is, if they are facing a case or if there is a decision in their case,

02:31we will accept that.

02:32Now, we have a resolution where a person, if there is a decision from the Office of the Ombudsman,

02:39especially if it's administrative and perpetually disqualified to hold public office,

02:43we will cancel the candidacy.

02:46Meanwhile, aside from the preparation of the Zocomolec for the COC filing,

02:51the commission is also preparing for the printing of the ballot that will be used in the election.

02:56The COMELEC also inspected the new machines in the National Printing Office from South Korea.

03:03Aside from being fast, the machines are said to be capable of printing more and of high quality ballot.

03:10In the Asia region, here in the Philippines, the machines are said to be the first to be tested,

03:16which are similar to the ones used in the US and Europe.

03:19I hope that this is not the only thing that is being shown to us.

03:22I hope that when these machines perform, especially when October comes,

03:27we will see their performance and our expectations will be met.

03:31At the same time, this will not speed up the printing of the ballot

03:35if the quality of the ballot that we will print is not good.

03:38On October 25, the machines from Mirosystems Company Ltd. will be formally turned over to COMELEC.

03:45Here, the capacity of the machines will be tested.

03:48According to the supplier, they are capable of printing 1 million ballots per day.
