00:04against the police who were involved in the Barayuga murder case.

00:08This is what Ryan Lesillas reported.

00:12The investigation of the PNP Internal Affairs Service is already underway

00:16against the police who were involved in the investigation

00:19against PCSO Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga.

00:22According to Inspector General Attorney Brihido Dulay,

00:25it is possible that the police who admitted to listening to the House Squad Committee

00:30involved in the murder of the former PCSO can be removed from the service.

00:34The first on their list is the confessed participant conspirator,

00:38Lieutenant Colonel Santi Mendoza.

00:40Dulay said that they are already looking for evidence

00:44to file another administrative case against Mendoza and others.

00:48But if Mendoza's statement in the Chamber is the basis,

00:52it will lead to a grave offense, which is equivalent to dismissal from the service.

00:57In the 7th hearing of the House Squad Committee on Extrajudicial Killings

01:01under the Duterte administration,

01:03Mendoza was convinced that in October 2019,

01:07when he was ordered to operate a high-value target,

01:11Barayuga was given the advantage.

01:14This is a grave offense because you're talking about murder,

01:19murder involving several personalities to assassinate.

01:24Technically, it's like a government official because it's a PCSO.

01:31If this happens, the person charged will be a grave offense

01:36with the summary dismissal penalty.

01:39Because the punishment here is heavy.

01:42The police who are behind Barayuga's name

01:46in the drug watch list and the police who first handled the case

01:50were not safe from the investigation.

01:53You know, our investigation is extensive.

01:57We will not just concentrate on Barayuga's statement.

02:02We will also look at the personalities who were involved

02:06until the murder of Barayuga happened.

02:09That's what we will look at,

02:11especially the so-called involvement in the drug list.

02:16We will look at all those angles.

02:18IAS said that the investigation of the evidence

02:21that will be followed by formal proceedings

02:24will last for 45 to 60 days

02:27and will be followed by a summary dismissal.

02:35made a thorough investigation

02:37on how Barayuga's name was included in the drug watch list.

02:41Marvil said that there should be clear and solid evidence

02:46that the police have against a person

02:48before it is included in the drug personality list.
