00:00The 5-day Doshin Bayadihan was a success.
00:03A bilateral training in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief
00:08between the Philippine Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
00:12This is the story of Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu.
00:20In the first opportunity,
00:22this C-130 from Japan landed at Brigadier General Benito Evwen Air Base.
00:29There are more than 30 Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
00:33They will be the spearhead of the Philippine Air Force
00:38for the training in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
00:44On the last day of the training,
00:46some media people were given the opportunity
00:49to cover one of the important simulation exercises.
00:54The C-130 is currently on the way to Tacloban City from Mactan-Cebu Air Base.
01:07What they are doing is the actual airdrop simulation
01:12of supplies for their relief and disaster operations.
01:20Copy that, thank you, thank you.
01:22The personnel are waiting downstairs
01:24to monitor the supplies and equipment that will be dropped.
01:30Later.
01:38The supplies and equipment are being dropped one by one
01:42from the C-130 of Japan and the Philippines.
01:45There's nothing left, there's nothing left to say.
01:49The personnel of the Philippine Air Force were immediately retrieved.
01:53It means that the low-cost, low-altitude airdrop was successful.
01:58So, as you can see, our country is an archipelagic country.
02:02We all need a lot of help from people.
02:06And of course, we can't do it alone.
02:10Especially, we are always affected by the typhoon.
02:13So, we really need their help and at the same time
02:16for us also to enhance our capability
02:21for us to serve our nation
02:26and address all the immediate needs of our countrymen
02:30in terms of disaster.
02:34I think that this training
02:36was a very good training
02:41to enhance the capabilities of Japan and the Philippines.
02:45I think that we don't have a bigger task
02:49than building an environment for each other.
02:52If I dare to say,
02:54I think there is a language barrier for communication,
02:58but I think that it is not a bigger problem
03:02than building an environment for each other.
03:05The two aircraft also conducted
03:07their Mass Casualty Rescue Operations
03:10where they shared their best practices.
03:14This is an indication of the continuous strengthening
03:17of the relationship and cooperation
03:19between the Philippines and Japan.
03:21From PTV Sabu,
03:23Jesse Atienza for Pambansang TV
03:26in Bagong, Philippines.
