00:00:00Previously, on the Amazing Race Celebrity Edition.
00:00:07Africa has been an emotional roller coaster.
00:00:10This is a moment we remember forever.
00:00:16Where challenging conditions left some teams like fish out of water.
00:00:20Think of crawling.
00:00:22And the biggest upset of the competition.
00:00:24Proud of how far we've come, but our time's up.
00:00:27Has given the underdogs a taste of victory.
00:00:30Pete and Bridget, you are the first team to check in.
00:00:33Brooke and Adam, you are the second team.
00:00:38Tonight, can the dark horses maintain their lead?
00:00:45As the top five head deep into Namibia.
00:00:48It's really giving me Lion King vibes out here.
00:00:51Teams will discover ancient cultures.
00:00:53How do you do this?
00:00:55Do this for me.
00:00:57In a landscape that will test them.
00:01:01I said it's a little to the right.
00:01:04Now a little to the left.
00:01:07And with the end in sight.
00:01:09Running blind right now.
00:01:10It's not looking too good.
00:01:11Every second matters.
00:01:13Still in it.
00:01:14I can smell babe.
00:01:15You don't open until the fat boy sings.
00:01:56It's another beautiful day in Africa.
00:01:58And our five remaining teams are departing
00:02:00in the order they arrived at the previous pit stop.
00:02:05Route marker.
00:02:06Drive to Omandamba.
00:02:08In the heart of the mighty Erongo Mountains.
00:02:13It's a beautiful day in Africa.
00:02:15And our five remaining teams are departing
00:02:17in the order they arrived at the previous pit stop.
00:02:20Route marker.
00:02:21Drive to Omandamba.
00:02:25Get in here.
00:02:28120 million years in the making.
00:02:31This place is simply stunning.
00:02:33And you never have it all quite to yourself.
00:02:36You've got animals out there.
00:02:38And of course the incredible sand people.
00:02:41One of the most ancient cultures on the planet.
00:02:44They are the original desert living specialists.
00:02:47With thousands of years of bush knowledge at their fingertips.
00:02:50They continue to thrive.
00:02:53This part of Africa is absolutely magic.
00:02:56Welcome to the ninth leg of the Amazing Race Australia.
00:03:03From coastal Swakopmund,
00:03:04teams are driving 200 kilometres inland to Omandamba.
00:03:08At the gates of the nature sanctuary,
00:03:10they'll find their first clue.
00:03:12There's also a speed bump for the team
00:03:14who came last in the previous non-elimination leg.
00:03:22Feeling good.
00:03:23But we have to pretend that we're not leading.
00:03:26That we're still trying to make up ground.
00:03:28There's five teams remaining.
00:03:29And unbelievably, one of those teams is the green team.
00:03:32I think we're still reeling a little bit from the batildas
00:03:34not being here.
00:03:35Yeah, that was a heartbreaking loss.
00:03:37The room for error is getting smaller and smaller
00:03:39with less teams.
00:03:43Bit like driving out west out Koba.
00:03:45True.
00:03:46It's got a bit of that feel too.
00:03:48But a distinct lack of kangaroos.
00:03:51I've travelled a lot, man.
00:03:53But this trip, like this whole race,
00:03:56has been such a buzz.
00:03:58It's really giving me Lion King vibes out here.
00:04:01Pride Rock, baby.
00:04:03Oh, Zazu.
00:04:05Zazu, look at that.
00:04:07Did you see him?
00:04:10You just better be pumpering your way up the mountain today,
00:04:13all right?
00:04:22Yes.
00:04:23Search for your next clue once through the Amandaba gate.
00:04:27Warning, speed bump ahead.
00:04:29OK.
00:04:30Let's go.
00:04:31Cool.
00:04:32All right.
00:04:33Let's go, Dopey.
00:04:34We're on it.
00:04:39Even though we're in last place,
00:04:41we can't rush ourselves to do things.
00:04:44It's not going to help us.
00:04:45No.
00:04:46And realising those little mistakes that you make,
00:04:49how much time they cost,
00:04:51rather than getting it right the first time.
00:04:53Yeah.
00:04:56Here we go.
00:04:57There it is.
00:04:58Speed bump.
00:05:01Dopey and Christian, not us.
00:05:04Not us.
00:05:06They are here.
00:05:11All right.
00:05:12It's got to be...
00:05:13Route info.
00:05:14Time for your bush initiation
00:05:16with a local game of bock-drawl-spo-egg.
00:05:18The sport of dung spitting.
00:05:20The game of bock-drawl-spo, or dung spitting,
00:05:24is a unique tradition.
00:05:27It was invented by locals making fun with what was lying around.
00:05:32Teams must collect dung pellets the same size as the samples provided
00:05:36before placing these little nuggets in their mouths
00:05:40and then spitting them into the target circle.
00:05:42Once both team members have landed a piece of dung in the circle,
00:05:45the judge will give them their next clue.
00:05:48Oh, that sounds ominous.
00:05:49Wow.
00:05:50Let's go.
00:05:51Oh, let's go.
00:05:55Let's go.
00:05:59Let's go.
00:06:03Speed bump.
00:06:04Look at the models.
00:06:09Time for your bush initiation with a local game of bock-drawl-spo-egg.
00:06:16Are they the pellets?
00:06:18There's the circle, so we've got to collect...
00:06:20It looks like poo.
00:06:22What kind of poo do you reckon this is?
00:06:24I've seen many animals around.
00:06:26Goats?
00:06:27Oh, they're rabbit poo.
00:06:29OK, let's go search.
00:06:31What a challenge.
00:06:32We turn up...
00:06:33Oh, they're big suckers.
00:06:35First we have to go and rummage through the wilderness...
00:06:38That looks like a freshie.
00:06:40..for pieces of poo to stick in our mouth
00:06:43to spit them back out again.
00:06:45Oh, hang on, they're pretty hard, mate.
00:06:47Yeah?
00:06:48Yeah, they're hard.
00:06:49OK.
00:06:50Let's do it.
00:06:51Oh, yeah, they are.
00:06:52These are perfect.
00:06:53Oh, you've got to find these.
00:06:55There's heaps over here.
00:06:56Bro, they're not dung, that's...
00:06:58Bro, they're proper kio's, no way.
00:07:02Damn.
00:07:04Here.
00:07:05There you go.
00:07:06Bro, I swear I said I'm not eating kio.
00:07:09We need little ones.
00:07:11We need little ones.
00:07:12We'll get dried ones.
00:07:13Yeah.
00:07:18There's a speed bump.
00:07:20I'm just here in front of us, Koko.
00:07:22Let's go.
00:07:26Oh, they're right behind us.
00:07:27Oh, no.
00:07:28There it is, speed bump.
00:07:33I can't really move all that fast at the moment.
00:07:36I've had shin splints.
00:07:38It's kind of gone into my knee.
00:07:40I am in pain, but I'm just trying to do my best
00:07:43to block that part out.
00:07:45Let's go.
00:07:46You look good in that photo, Christian.
00:07:48Thank you, boys.
00:07:49Very serious.
00:07:50All right, speed bump, mate.
00:07:52Hey.
00:07:53What have we got?
00:07:58Time for your bush initiation
00:08:00with a local game of bock drill sport.
00:08:02Ooh, let's go.
00:08:03Speed bump.
00:08:04OK.
00:08:05For coming last in the previous non-elimination leg,
00:08:07you have more poo work on your hands.
00:08:09You must fill the provided container
00:08:11with dung to continue racing.
00:08:13OK.
00:08:15Need the heavy shit.
00:08:16That's too big.
00:08:17That's too big.
00:08:18Try over here.
00:08:19Got some over here.
00:08:20They're good quality.
00:08:22These are good quality pellets.
00:08:23Good quality pellets, these.
00:08:25Is that a poo?
00:08:27It kind of looks like a poo, but...
00:08:29OK, want to try?
00:08:31We go over to the stadium
00:08:34and we need to spit our dung into that circle.
00:08:38And it needs to remain in the circle.
00:08:40It can't bounce out.
00:08:47Tastes like tobacco, almost.
00:08:52Dung spitting.
00:08:53Bounced out.
00:08:54Did it?
00:08:55It's so much harder than it looks.
00:08:57I'm a little germaphobe, but I think it...
00:08:59I mean, that looks like...
00:09:00Just looks like a bit of...
00:09:02You're more confident than I am.
00:09:03...type grass.
00:09:04They're in my pocket, I guess.
00:09:05OK.
00:09:06My process for this, to get over the fact
00:09:09that I was going to put poo in my mouth,
00:09:11was to not really think about it.
00:09:16OK, that'd be good.
00:09:18That'd be good.
00:09:19All right, go.
00:09:20Pooty tongue.
00:09:24Oh, wow.
00:09:28I've got this, hang on.
00:09:31We have a competition at home.
00:09:33We can spit their phlegm past the four metre cement.
00:09:36We don't want to spit on the cement.
00:09:37We don't want to spit on the cement.
00:09:38And we're, again, pretty good at that.
00:09:45You got it.
00:09:46You got one.
00:09:47OK, this challenge, I was like, OK, I can do a golly.
00:09:51I know it's not the most ladylike thing,
00:09:53but we are from the country.
00:09:54We're spitting over the slab.
00:09:55We were spitting over the slab.
00:09:59The wind is taking it.
00:10:04That's in.
00:10:07There it is.
00:10:10All right.
00:10:12Where do we go?
00:10:14There we are, dopey.
00:10:15Rabbit poo.
00:10:16Little rabbit poo circular things.
00:10:18Circular.
00:10:19Let's find something.
00:10:20Old, something new.
00:10:23Do you know where we're heading to?
00:10:25Any idea?
00:10:26Judge?
00:10:27No, here.
00:10:28Christian?
00:10:29We're going to have to be a lot smarter today,
00:10:32because we can't make up ground with speed.
00:10:34All right, we've got to fill this with dung.
00:10:37Yes, I'm here.
00:10:38But we first must complete our speed bump.
00:10:41Won't take us too long, mate.
00:10:43Then we can catch up.
00:10:46Yes!
00:10:47Oh, too fast.
00:10:50There it is.
00:10:51Oh!
00:10:53I figured out pretty quickly that the best poo to spit
00:10:57was the smaller, firmer poo.
00:11:00The bigger, lighter poo didn't go as far
00:11:02and took a lot more breath to try and get to that circle,
00:11:06which wasn't super close.
00:11:08You've always been a fan of the firmer stool, haven't you?
00:11:10Yeah, I like a firm stool.
00:11:13Hey, I got it in!
00:11:14Come on, Bridgie.
00:11:15Yes!
00:11:17Come on, come on, what one did you...
00:11:18Oh, you got it too, hun!
00:11:19I got it!
00:11:21Come and have a look.
00:11:22Oh, my God.
00:11:24That's all that's spitting on the farm.
00:11:26There and there.
00:11:30Yes!
00:11:31Thank you so much, mate.
00:11:32You're welcome.
00:11:33See you, let's go.
00:11:35OK, here we go.
00:11:36Oh, a detour.
00:11:37OK, a detour.
00:11:38Weapons or water?
00:11:40A detour is a choice between two challenges,
00:11:42each with its own pros and cons.
00:11:45In this detour, our teams will encounter
00:11:47the extraordinary sand people.
00:11:49They rely on two things to sustain them in the desert.
00:11:53Weapons and water.
00:11:55Teams who choose weapons
00:11:57will meet a local hunter and follow his instructions
00:12:01to walk quietly and barefoot to the hunting ground
00:12:04where they'll learn how to use a bow and arrow.
00:12:07Both team members must master this ancient survival skill
00:12:10and successfully hit the animal on the target.
00:12:13Once each person scores a bullseye,
00:12:15they'll receive their next clue.
00:12:19This here might quite possibly be
00:12:21the world's oldest water bottle and holder.
00:12:24And guess what it is?
00:12:26Ostrich egg.
00:12:27I'll go first.
00:12:31Still keeps the water cold.
00:12:34Teams who choose water
00:12:36will craft a water carrier from an ostrich egg.
00:12:39Taught by the local women,
00:12:41they will use traditional tools to replicate the sample carrier.
00:12:44They must include the holder and stopper,
00:12:46making sure not to crack the egg.
00:12:49It's delicate work,
00:12:51but if they succeed, they'll receive their next clue.
00:12:55Thank you for having us.
00:12:57And can I borrow that?
00:13:01Oh, it's your one, is it? Sorry, darling.
00:13:03Let's go hunting.
00:13:04Let's go.
00:13:09Yes!
00:13:10Check!
00:13:13Thank you very much.
00:13:16Weapons or water?
00:13:17I'm no very good hunter, are you?
00:13:19No, let's do water.
00:13:20Water.
00:13:23Just getting the wind.
00:13:24I actually thought I'd be better at the dung spinning challenge.
00:13:27The wind was going on and it was just all...
00:13:29I had to line it up.
00:13:31It was full on.
00:13:36I just fully tongued the poo.
00:13:38All I hear is excuses.
00:13:40He was shit-out at it.
00:13:43Oh, there it is!
00:13:45Yes!
00:13:46Come on, baby.
00:13:47I don't know if that's... Is that poo?
00:13:48Yeah, these are poo. It's just dried up.
00:13:52Oh, it's got it.
00:13:54Yes!
00:14:00I can't get it.
00:14:03Go!
00:14:05Yeah!
00:14:12Yeah!
00:14:13Thank you, brother.
00:14:14Thank you, brother.
00:14:15Thank you, thank you.
00:14:16We're done with this.
00:14:19Detour.
00:14:20Weapons.
00:14:21Weapons.
00:14:23Oh, there's a good chunk over there too, mate.
00:14:25Yay.
00:14:27You don't need a runner.
00:14:28Oh, what's that?
00:14:33So I'm getting very, very frustrated.
00:14:37Because I can't spit poo.
00:14:39Like, don't keep...
00:14:41So don't keep trying...
00:14:42Like, obviously that doesn't work,
00:14:43so just keep trying to make different sounds
00:14:45and you'll find it eventually.
00:14:49Come on.
00:14:50Can't be spitting shit that gets us out.
00:14:54Yeah.
00:14:56I can't even go halfway.
00:14:58And other people have left,
00:14:59they've gone to the next challenge,
00:15:01so we're in a little bit of trouble.
00:15:03Do you want some more?
00:15:04No, no.
00:15:16Hello!
00:15:17We're going to do weapons!
00:15:19Yay!
00:15:22I'm Adam.
00:15:23And Brooke.
00:15:27Adam.
00:15:28Lovely to meet you.
00:15:29Lovely to meet you.
00:15:30Hello, kids.
00:15:35He's hoping.
00:15:36OK, let's go.
00:15:37Teach us.
00:15:40OK.
00:15:47OK.
00:15:48Yeah.
00:15:49I feel like we've been getting through the language barrier
00:15:52with...
00:15:53Smiles!
00:15:54Smiling!
00:15:55Yes.
00:15:56A smiley face says a lot.
00:15:57And a thumbs up.
00:15:58Thumbs up.
00:16:03OK.
00:16:06So no shoes?
00:16:07Take them off.
00:16:08No shoes.
00:16:09OK.
00:16:10That's all right, we can do this.
00:16:11I'm excited about the idea of learning how to hunt
00:16:14from a tribesperson.
00:16:17OK.
00:16:19Let's go.
00:16:29We're having a blast, barefoot in the African bush,
00:16:33following the tribespeople, and we're being told,
00:16:36shh, look around.
00:16:39There's the monkeys.
00:16:41Up there.
00:16:42Hey, monkeys.
00:16:44Oh, my goodness.
00:16:45This is so cool.
00:16:46Look at that view.
00:16:50Oh, look, there's the deer.
00:16:52OK, you've got to get it.
00:16:54Honey.
00:16:57I'd done a bit of hunting when I was growing up out of cobalt,
00:17:01but that was 30-odd years ago.
00:17:03I haven't done any since, and I have no need to shoot anything.
00:17:07And it was never with a bow.
00:17:14Oh, that's the line.
00:17:15OK.
00:17:16OK.
00:17:20Say down.
00:17:21Down, down.
00:17:22Yeah.
00:17:23Yeah.
00:17:25Yes!
00:17:26Got it!
00:17:27Oh, get him!
00:17:28I got the deer.
00:17:29I got the deer.
00:17:30Yes!
00:17:31Wow, honey.
00:17:33You know what I'm finding with our tees?
00:17:35Just can do everything.
00:17:38I've nicknamed my husband Jason Bourne.
00:17:42Seriously!
00:17:43Yes!
00:17:44Yes!
00:17:45Yes!
00:17:46Now it's my turn.
00:17:47Can you teach me?
00:17:48I'm going, oh, my God, this is up to me now.
00:17:50I'll jag it really quickly, or this could take forever.
00:17:55OK.
00:17:59You got this, hon.
00:18:05That was funny.
00:18:12Outside of supermarket shelves, we don't do a lot of hunting at home.
00:18:15We think we'll just play it safe and go to water.
00:18:18Pete.
00:18:19Bridget.
00:18:20Lovely to meet you.
00:18:25We actually have to build the water carrier,
00:18:28which is the ostrich egg in a leather case.
00:18:32And sticks holding the leather into the base.
00:18:36And obviously they carry it with big long handles,
00:18:39and there's some detailings that we have to use some egg
00:18:42to create like a button.
00:18:44OK, let's have a look at our belongings first.
00:18:49They're obviously the needles.
00:18:52Hats and crests would probably be more my forte, usually.
00:18:57This doesn't screen, Bridgie.
00:18:59But we'll give it a whirl.
00:19:01You've usually got more modern equipment around you.
00:19:05My job is to get these little buttons made,
00:19:08which are quite finicky as well, which is not my thing.
00:19:11That's all right, this is going to take some time, I think.
00:19:14Part of me feels like I'm in a National Geographic documentary,
00:19:17and part of me feels like I'm in an episode of Breaking Bad.
00:19:20What's the Breaking Bad?
00:19:21Well, just chopping up this pan and stuff.
00:19:23I'm attempting to get like a little disc.
00:19:26They're laughing at me again, everyone's laughing at me.
00:19:29In Namibia, these women are sitting there,
00:19:32speaking their own tongue.
00:19:36Despite the fact there's an obvious language barrier,
00:19:38they were able to help out and understand
00:19:40most of what we were trying to ask of them.
00:19:44Yes.
00:19:49Ah, it's all the timing.
00:19:51Yeah.
00:19:52You must have super strength, because I was doing this
00:19:54and nothing was happening.
00:19:59Get me some bigger ones then, please.
00:20:01Some big ones that are a bit heavier,
00:20:03they might travel a bit further.
00:20:05Is that close?
00:20:06Close.
00:20:07Time penalty, what about that?
00:20:08No, we're not taking a time penalty.
00:20:11It's a huge clump up here, mate.
00:20:13We're still stuck in that speed bump.
00:20:15Maybe these ones here.
00:20:17We have to collect animal poo
00:20:19and fill it to the brim of this bowl
00:20:21before we can actually participate in this challenge.
00:20:24And we were there for a very long time.
00:20:27Happy?
00:20:31Thank you, brother.
00:20:33Thank you, mate.
00:20:35Cool.
00:20:36All right, over we go.
00:20:37All right.
00:20:39I think the only good thing in us collecting poo
00:20:41was being able to hear and observe
00:20:44what the other teams were doing.
00:20:46Don't use any lips.
00:20:47So when we've completed the task,
00:20:49we're able to get there and know what we're doing.
00:20:56There we go.
00:20:57Good job.
00:21:02Yay!
00:21:03Yes!
00:21:04Yes?
00:21:05Well done, Thorby.
00:21:09Yeah, thank you, mate.
00:21:10Well done.
00:21:12Let's go water.
00:21:13Yep, water.
00:21:21I don't think anyone can, like, push it that hard.
00:21:23It's more just, like, the way it comes out.
00:21:24Like, you need to just, like, shoot out.
00:21:26Something wrong with my breathing or my tongue,
00:21:29because you can curl your tongue.
00:21:31Everyone can curl their tongue, but guess what?
00:21:35Time penalty's an option if we need.
00:21:37But we've got to take it soon if we're going to take it.
00:21:39Yeah, we can make up time elsewhere.
00:21:42I know it's an easy thing, but I don't reckon I can do it.
00:21:44Do you want to take the time penalty?
00:21:46Yeah, sorry.
00:21:47That's all right.
00:21:48OK, we'll take the time penalty.
00:21:50If you take the time penalty, it will be 40 minutes on the mat.
00:21:53Going to take the time penalty.
00:21:55Oh, well.
00:21:56Thank you, mate.
00:21:57That's all right.
00:21:59Good rip, boy.
00:22:00Good rip.
00:22:01Let's go all detour.
00:22:02Good all detour.
00:22:03All right.
00:22:04Weapons or water?
00:22:05Do weapons?
00:22:06Let's do weapons.
00:22:08You're doing good.
00:22:09You're just warming up.
00:22:16I think I'm out.
00:22:22Well, to be honest, we chose weapons
00:22:25because we're a couple of weapons ourselves.
00:22:28Ah, yeah.
00:22:29Yeah.
00:22:30Yeah.
00:22:33You've got to be quiet.
00:22:35You've got to be quiet.
00:22:39It's going to be hard for me to be quiet.
00:22:49Oh, shit.
00:22:50Yeah, my feet hurt.
00:22:54That dark area over there.
00:22:56That mountain over there.
00:23:05Oh, shit.
00:23:07We're feeling confident.
00:23:08We're actually thinking we're actual warriors
00:23:10and we're going to use these weapons and just smash it out.
00:23:15Okay.
00:23:16Okay.
00:23:17Okay.
00:23:20Oh, shit.
00:23:22Too high.
00:23:23It's too high.
00:23:24Too high.
00:23:25Too high.
00:23:26A bit low.
00:23:27A bit low.
00:23:28Go!
00:23:31You have a go.
00:23:32You have a go.
00:23:33Have a go at it.
00:23:35You've bent all the arrows.
00:23:37No, I didn't.
00:23:38I thought, you know what, I'm going to kill this.
00:23:54Well, I really made myself the target just then.
00:23:58Yeah, it's not like...
00:23:59No, like this.
00:24:00Yeah, like that.
00:24:01Ah.
00:24:03I get it.
00:24:04Okay.
00:24:05The detours is all about choices.
00:24:06Yeah, that's it.
00:24:07All right.
00:24:08And you've got to pick what you think is right for your team.
00:24:13Yeah, go on.
00:24:14That's it.
00:24:15And it might be something that's in your favour
00:24:17or it might be something that's not in your favour.
00:24:20And now I think we're coming towards the end of the race.
00:24:22The challenges are definitely getting more difficult.
00:24:26Oh, fuck.
00:24:27It's harder than a four.
00:24:31There goes another broken one.
00:24:40I think we need to work faster, though.
00:24:42Yeah, I think...
00:24:43Well, I've got those two done now.
00:24:48It's finicky, which is not my favourite thing.
00:24:50This challenge is taking forever.
00:24:52It's finicky, which is not my favourite thing.
00:24:54This challenge is taking longer than we thought.
00:24:57We have to build the water carrier,
00:24:59which is the ostrich egg in a leather case.
00:25:03It says Frank Green on the side.
00:25:06Hi.
00:25:07Hey, guys.
00:25:08We decided to do the water challenge
00:25:10because we thought it was less physical.
00:25:13Nice to meet you.
00:25:14The number one weakness for Thorpy
00:25:16is probably just as a result of different injuries that he's had
00:25:19that may limit him physically.
00:25:21So this gives us an opportunity to make up some ground.
00:25:24Are they already pre-cut?
00:25:26Yeah.
00:25:27That's Thorpy from the Olympics.
00:25:29Gold medals.
00:25:31You don't reach the dizzying heights that Thorpy has
00:25:34without having this inner strength
00:25:36that just pushes you through pain barrier after pain barrier.
00:25:39Swimmer. Swim.
00:25:41Not like that, mate.
00:25:43His technique was a little bit better, sure.
00:25:45So beware the wounded champ.
00:25:48Hi.
00:25:49Is this the right way?
00:25:51How do you do this?
00:25:53Do you want to show me?
00:25:55We're trying to work through this particular challenge
00:25:58as efficiently as we can
00:26:00whilst completely soaking up
00:26:03what was a beautiful moment with the Khoisan people.
00:26:08Pretty incredible, huh?
00:26:13This is part of being on the Amazing Race
00:26:15is experiencing things that you never thought you would do.
00:26:19Namibia has now become a place that I want to be able to return to.
00:26:24I didn't care about the race in that moment.
00:26:27It felt really special to be accepted by these people in that moment.
00:26:31And to have that moment with the Khoisan people
00:26:34is one that I'll treasure forever.
00:26:37Just get your footwork right.
00:26:39Get your footwork right and then just really pop it in.
00:26:44You know what?
00:26:45Right now I am just...
00:26:47I think I'm just getting the technique right.
00:26:49Yep.
00:26:50Hi.
00:26:51Oscar.
00:26:54We chose hunting detour
00:26:56because the water ones sounded quite fiddly.
00:26:59And that is one thing we've learned
00:27:01is that the fiddling things is not good for us.
00:27:03Take your shoes off.
00:27:04Shoes off.
00:27:05OK.
00:27:06Oh, this is going to hurt.
00:27:08Barefoot.
00:27:09I've seen Tribesmen on TV
00:27:12but I've never actually met and gone hunting with a Tribesman.
00:27:15All of a sudden you go, wow, this is interesting.
00:27:18Oh, we're looking for someone with horns and a tail.
00:27:21And a tail.
00:27:22All right.
00:27:23Hang on, Oscar.
00:27:24OK, that's all we're hunting.
00:27:25Ah, I get you.
00:27:26OK.
00:27:29Oh, my feet are soft.
00:27:33We've got to walk on these paths,
00:27:36which are like standing on Lego.
00:27:38If I'm going to the local cafe or to the surf club,
00:27:42I wear thongs or shoes.
00:27:44You know, I've got a couple of old war injuries, I suppose, from footy,
00:27:48so I just don't walk around in bare feet.
00:27:50Do you feel that?
00:27:51No.
00:27:52No.
00:27:53I've got hard feet.
00:27:55That's the problem.
00:27:56I've worn around bare...walked around bare feet for about 20 years.
00:28:00Because of your soft, privileged feet, we can't get anywhere.
00:28:05Shh, you're going to scare the animals.
00:28:08I am doing one kilometre an hour, I reckon, Oscar.
00:28:11Yeah, you're hitting negatives at some point.
00:28:13And we've got a big time penalty at the end, which we need to serve,
00:28:17so we know that we need to get in front of other teams
00:28:20by at least 30 minutes.
00:28:22It started to add a bit of pressure and a bit of panic.
00:28:25We can hear them.
00:28:30Can you just see how these are tied up?
00:28:32Can you just see how these are tied up?
00:28:34That shouldn't be that hard to just have a look.
00:28:36The two ends go through the same slit and cross over each other.
00:28:40Being married for 21 years, we know what each other's good at,
00:28:43so there's no point two people trying to have their hands
00:28:46in an ostrich egg harness.
00:28:48I've always said that.
00:28:52Judge?
00:28:53Our water carrier.
00:28:58Thank you so much.
00:29:00Yeah!
00:29:01Thanks, Petey boy.
00:29:03Well done.
00:29:05Rick Marker, head to the animal research station
00:29:08to work with the conservationists on their duties.
00:29:11When the African sun goes down, the wildlife comes out.
00:29:16In this challenge, teams will help researchers monitor
00:29:19animal movements on the reserve.
00:29:21Teams will catch a lift to the animal research centre
00:29:24with our watch trail cameras from the previous evening.
00:29:28Using a reference, they must identify 10 animals
00:29:31that visited the reserve at night.
00:29:34And with over 17 species of deer alone,
00:29:37attention to detail is vital.
00:29:39If teams can correctly identify all 10 animals in the footage,
00:29:43they'll receive their next clue.
00:29:46Exciting. Let's go.
00:29:54Ooh, closer.
00:29:59Approaching the wild bear.
00:30:01Tonight we feast.
00:30:04He looks like a walking iguana.
00:30:10OK.
00:30:16Nope, wrong way.
00:30:17The pressure is so intense in this race,
00:30:22especially when you have to do it on your own
00:30:25to get the next clue.
00:30:27You have to intensify that when you're in a race
00:30:29and you're going, will I be able to do it?
00:30:31Will I be able to pull back a bow and arrow?
00:30:33These things that we're not doing every day,
00:30:35and it really is that thing of digging deep and going,
00:30:38I just can't give up.
00:30:40Oh, well, I've got to keep going until I get it.
00:30:42OK.
00:30:48Yes!
00:30:51You're joking!
00:30:53Yes, you helped me!
00:30:57Thank you, kitties.
00:30:58We're doing a dance.
00:30:59We're doing a dance.
00:31:00We're doing a dance.
00:31:02I got it, I got it!
00:31:07You're funny, I like you.
00:31:11Yes!
00:31:15OK, head to the animal research station
00:31:17to work with the conservationists on their duties.
00:31:20Let's go.
00:31:21OK.
00:31:28Good?
00:31:29Good job.
00:31:31I find it fascinating that something that is so fragile
00:31:35is carrying something that is literally the difference
00:31:38between life and death.
00:31:40Yeah.
00:31:41OK, check, please.
00:31:43Check.
00:31:44OK!
00:31:45Yeah!
00:31:47Here we are.
00:31:48Here we are.
00:31:50Bye!
00:31:51Bye!
00:31:52Bye.
00:31:53Three, two, one.
00:31:55Bye.
00:31:56Three, two, one.
00:31:58Go!
00:31:59Head to the animal research station
00:32:01to work with the conservationists on their duties.
00:32:03OK, we've got to go.
00:32:04Let's go!
00:32:05OK, let's go this way.
00:32:06Yeah!
00:32:14He said it's a little to the right.
00:32:17Now a little to the left.
00:32:20Good start.
00:32:21Good start.
00:32:24Oh!
00:32:25It's a bit low.
00:32:26Like that.
00:32:30Up?
00:32:31Up.
00:32:32Up a bit here.
00:32:33I used to have Nerf guns and I would always shoot my sisters,
00:32:36so I'm not a bad shot, actually.
00:32:38Come on, mate.
00:32:40Yes!
00:32:41Good, good, good.
00:32:43Bang!
00:32:44Yes!
00:32:45Got him!
00:32:46Woo!
00:32:47Got him.
00:32:48Bang!
00:32:54Great teacher.
00:32:55Thank you very much.
00:32:56Two big hunters.
00:32:57Phew, good rip.
00:32:58Here we go.
00:32:59Head to the animal research station
00:33:01to work with conservationists.
00:33:03Wow!
00:33:04Wow!
00:33:05Wow!
00:33:06Wow!
00:33:07Wow!
00:33:08Wow!
00:33:09Wow!
00:33:10Wow!
00:33:11Wow!
00:33:12Wow!
00:33:13Conservationists, wow.
00:33:14That's good.
00:33:15Bambam and Logan were there before us
00:33:18and they are still there and we are off.
00:33:20Right, come on, logs.
00:33:21We need this Nerf.
00:33:22We need to get it.
00:33:23OK, this one's the kiss of death.
00:33:26Oh.
00:33:27We kept snapping arrows,
00:33:29we kept breaking arrows,
00:33:30we kept missing arrows.
00:33:31This is the rough challenge.
00:33:34Oh.
00:33:36This is hard, man.
00:33:37This is very hard.
00:33:41It's no racquet, man.
00:33:42Iraqi now.
00:33:51Hello.
00:33:53Welcome to Umadumba.
00:33:55This is the ancient part of Namibia.
00:33:56We arrived at the challenge
00:33:57and we're neck and neck with Brook and Adam.
00:33:59Let's go, hop in.
00:34:00Let's go.
00:34:01So we feel like we're equal first, basically,
00:34:06which is actually surprising.
00:34:07It just shows that we can potentially win this.
00:34:09Brookie, you're right there.
00:34:11Hello.
00:34:13So now we're heading to an animal research station
00:34:15where we're going to look at animals
00:34:16filmed that morning in the area
00:34:19and identify those animals using a handbook they've given us.
00:34:26Hello.
00:34:27G'day, g'day.
00:34:30Hey, g'day.
00:34:31Welcome to our animal research station.
00:34:33Thanks for having us.
00:34:34Got the footage this morning.
00:34:36Please write down the animals.
00:34:38Can re-watch the video as many times,
00:34:41once you've calmed.
00:34:42Pause.
00:34:42Okay.
00:34:43But we can just keep, like, okay.
00:34:47Okay, let's do this.
00:34:49Let's do this, team.
00:34:50It is a bit like being back at school, isn't it?
00:34:53It is, it feels pretty much back at school
00:34:55and I was never back at school.
00:34:56No, me neither.
00:34:57I just couldn't sit still.
00:34:58I struggled.
00:34:59I used to deliberately get kicked out of class
00:35:01so I could go and play guitar in the hallway.
00:35:03But right now, we're in front,
00:35:05so we can't slack off here.
00:35:07We've just got to keep going.
00:35:09That's a...
00:35:10That's this guy, Honey Badger.
00:35:12What we doing, Honey Badger?
00:35:13Oh, shit.
00:35:14Just be quiet.
00:35:15They're over there.
00:35:15We don't want to give them any glues.
00:35:17This challenge, we think, is going to be pretty easy.
00:35:21Some animals are obviously very easy to recognize.
00:35:23Elephants, lions, zebras.
00:35:25But then when you start getting to the nitty gritty
00:35:27of springboks, impalas.
00:35:29Is that a deer?
00:35:30Is it an impala?
00:35:31And there's all different kinds of breeds.
00:35:33You're looking at the markings on faces
00:35:35and stripes on spots.
00:35:38Noah couldn't recognize this many animals.
00:35:40What's this look like?
00:35:42It's really dark.
00:35:43Vision.
00:35:47Hurry up.
00:35:48Come on.
00:35:49Come on.
00:35:56We thought we were hunters.
00:35:58I think we just got to stick to the gathering
00:36:00because hunting is not our strong point today.
00:36:05Keep an eye on the prize.
00:36:08Yes.
00:36:09It's got to be you.
00:36:10Got to be.
00:36:11It has to be you.
00:36:15If we'd joined the tribe, I wouldn't be this big.
00:36:21I'd be missing a lot of calories.
00:36:23Now my turn.
00:36:27Now I've got to get this.
00:36:33Oh!
00:36:38This is hard, man.
00:36:40Let's go.
00:36:41Take your time.
00:36:42Just get in there.
00:36:46Got it!
00:36:48Yeah!
00:36:48Woo hoo!
00:36:54Yes!
00:36:57Thank you, thank you.
00:37:02Good job.
00:37:04Good job, good job.
00:37:08Route info.
00:37:10Head to the animal research station
00:37:12to work with the conservationist...
00:37:14Served...
00:37:15Servedationist.
00:37:16Ha ha!
00:37:16Conservationist!
00:37:17Conservationist!
00:37:18Depression!
00:37:19Ha ha ha ha ha!
00:37:21I've got shit in my mouth, that's all.
00:37:23Ha ha ha!
00:37:29I just want to have a body like this, though.
00:37:32Oh, these are hard.
00:37:35Is it?
00:37:36It's a nice one, isn't it?
00:37:37This one.
00:37:38That looks like a cat.
00:37:40Yeah.
00:37:42It's a guinepig.
00:37:43Large spotted guinepig.
00:37:50Welcome to our animal research station.
00:37:51Good to meet you, mate.
00:37:52How are you?
00:37:53Research station.
00:37:55Come and follow their trail.
00:37:56Thank you, mate.
00:37:56Is there a clue, or what does it say here?
00:38:01All right.
00:38:01Hopefully, the fact we're both pretty good boys at school
00:38:05Yeah.
00:38:06is going to come into play here.
00:38:08So the elephant, we're good on the elephant.
00:38:11There's only one type here.
00:38:12Yeah, I did most of, well, a lot of my school.
00:38:15I did a lot from home, several.
00:38:18Because of my swimming career,
00:38:19there was a period where I was homeschooled.
00:38:21I missed 102 of two swimming lessons a year.
00:38:24So I was homeschooled,
00:38:25and then I was homeschooled for the rest of my life.
00:38:27I was homeschooled for the rest of my life.
00:38:30I missed 102 of 200 days at school.
00:38:33I was flying around the world,
00:38:35training, trying to fit this all in.
00:38:38You know, I was doing exams on planes and things like that.
00:38:41That is a small spot of the genet.
00:38:45We've kind of made up some time when we get this right.
00:38:49There's an opportunity.
00:38:50We're moving through this pretty quickly, too.
00:38:52Don't be so confident.
00:38:56The tricky thing about this challenge is
00:38:57they're not telling you what you got right
00:38:59and what you got wrong.
00:39:00They say you are wrong.
00:39:02Getting closer.
00:39:03Still incorrect.
00:39:05Getting closer.
00:39:07Check, please.
00:39:10So every time you change something,
00:39:11you're not sure if you're changing the right one.
00:39:13So everyone's just changing one thing and checking.
00:39:16Check. Check, please.
00:39:17Check, please.
00:39:19Still incorrect.
00:39:20Okay.
00:39:21So that's unfortunately incorrect.
00:39:23Yes. Okay.
00:39:24Check.
00:39:26Still incorrect, sorry.
00:39:27Is it on the handle?
00:39:29It's still the same one.
00:39:30There's a lot of checking going on.
00:39:31A lot of failing.
00:39:33I'm thinking about taking my kids out of school after this.
00:39:35It might be a comedy parlor.
00:39:37I reckon it is.
00:39:42Check.
00:39:47Come on, come on, come on.
00:39:48Okay.
00:39:51Come on, teacher.
00:39:51Come on, teacher.
00:39:52We've got you.
00:39:53Yes!
00:39:55Thank you!
00:39:56Oh, my God.
00:39:57Have a good day.
00:39:59Thank you, mate.
00:40:00Thank you, sir.
00:40:01It wasn't a springbok.
00:40:02It was an impala.
00:40:03We went through every impala-looking thing,
00:40:06and I've decided that impalas, springboks,
00:40:09steinboks, all of those,
00:40:10they're just deers that are wearing different hats.
00:40:14The answer's here.
00:40:15Ha, sucked in.
00:40:18Good job.
00:40:21Root info.
00:40:22Travel to Spitzkopper National Park
00:40:24and scale the boulders of the dome
00:40:27to find your next clue.
00:40:29Teams will drive to Spitzkopper National Park,
00:40:32get an entry ticket,
00:40:34then find the geological wonder, the dome.
00:40:38They must scale this enormous granite boulder,
00:40:41and at the top, they'll find their next clue.
00:40:45Let's go.
00:40:46Yep.
00:40:48This one, mate?
00:40:50Okay.
00:40:51Good job, hun.
00:40:52That was tough.
00:40:54Impalas.
00:40:55They nearly had us stitched up, didn't they?
00:40:58Conservationist.
00:41:00Yes, we're conservating.
00:41:01Cons-serving.
00:41:03Conspiracy.
00:41:08Thank you, my brother.
00:41:09Nice to meet you, sir.
00:41:10You can't pause the video,
00:41:12but you can watch it again and again.
00:41:14You can watch it again and again.
00:41:16Again and again and again.
00:41:18Yeah, there's a few hyenas running around in Mount Druitt.
00:41:21Yeah.
00:41:22Old mate over here wasn't the best student.
00:41:25His report card used to always say,
00:41:29easily distracted, see in there,
00:41:32and distracting others.
00:41:35Bridge was the cheerleader.
00:41:36One that would never look at you.
00:41:45Is that a wild dog?
00:41:46It's a jackal.
00:41:47Jackal?
00:41:49Check.
00:41:50Yeah.
00:41:55Don't joke with me.
00:41:57Oh, thank you.
00:41:58Thank you very much.
00:41:59Thank you very much.
00:42:00Well done.
00:42:01You're a hard teacher, but fair.
00:42:02And that was enthralling lesson.
00:42:05Pete would have been the teacher's pet.
00:42:08Scale the boulders of the dome to find your next clue.
00:42:12Because this is climbing.
00:42:13Let's go.
00:42:14Let's do it.
00:42:15Is that?
00:42:17Incorrect, sir.
00:42:19Wrong.
00:42:21You spelled hyena wrong.
00:42:25Just distracting people, like old times.
00:42:30Camera G, water hole, camera G.
00:42:33Yeah.
00:42:34See how the eyes go black and down?
00:42:37Yeah.
00:42:38Cheater.
00:42:39But the ears.
00:42:40Oh, it's almost a leopard.
00:42:41Leopard, it's a leopard.
00:42:43Check.
00:42:43Check.
00:42:44Please.
00:42:46You know what I got at school?
00:42:48I got the cane.
00:42:49Check.
00:42:50Still wrong.
00:42:51Still wrong.
00:42:52Do we know which bit?
00:42:54I'd rather have six of the best canes on my bum,
00:42:56on my hand, wherever you want it to,
00:43:02than going through this challenge.
00:43:04It was, again, so frustrating.
00:43:08Top of all this, we've got a time penalty at the end,
00:43:11which we need to serve.
00:43:12The pressure's on.
00:43:15Come on, come on.
00:43:17Do something.
00:43:21Don't miss a moment of the action.
00:43:23Yeah!
00:43:24With full episodes of The Amazing Race,
00:43:27Celebrity Edition, on Template.
00:43:41I just don't know what we're doing wrong.
00:43:43This challenge is a bit harder than what we thought.
00:43:46We've fallen a bit behind.
00:43:47We're at the back of the pack,
00:43:49trying to get ahead of Thorpe and Christian
00:43:50and Bam and Logan.
00:43:52Still in it.
00:43:52Yep.
00:43:53We're still in it.
00:43:54So we just need to smash it over.
00:43:55Exactly.
00:43:56That's the honey badger.
00:43:58Check, please, mate.
00:44:01How did we go, Timmy?
00:44:02Timmy?
00:44:03All there, mate.
00:44:04Let's have a look.
00:44:06It's correct.
00:44:07Yay!
00:44:09Thank you, mate.
00:44:10Good work.
00:44:12Good rip, boy, good rip.
00:44:14Travel to Spitzcopia National Park
00:44:16and scale the boulders of the dome to find your next clue.
00:44:19Righto.
00:44:19Let's go.
00:44:23This has been the best adventure.
00:44:25It really has been.
00:44:26Also, I want to get as far as we can in this race.
00:44:30Yeah.
00:44:31I can smell it.
00:44:32It's so close.
00:44:35Aha, honey.
00:44:36You found it?
00:44:37We found it.
00:44:39We need to purchase our tickets.
00:44:40Okay.
00:44:41Hello.
00:44:42Hello.
00:44:43Hi, how are you?
00:44:43Hi.
00:44:44Good, thank you.
00:44:45Are we at the right place?
00:44:47Yes.
00:44:47Woo-hoo.
00:44:48Oh, yes.
00:44:49Welcome to Spitzcopia.
00:44:51I will explain the map for you.
00:44:53I have a map.
00:44:54And we need to go to the dome.
00:44:55We found your way in there.
00:44:57There you go.
00:44:58Okay.
00:44:59Down this little road.
00:45:00Okay, thank you.
00:45:03Wow, look at this.
00:45:05Whoa.
00:45:07What a day.
00:45:09This is insane.
00:45:14Let's go, hon.
00:45:15Let's go, honey.
00:45:16We're in front.
00:45:17There's no cars around.
00:45:19Oh my God, look at this.
00:45:21Beautiful.
00:45:22We're going holy hell.
00:45:23Looking ahead of what we had to do,
00:45:27which was walking that mountain.
00:45:30It was quite overwhelming,
00:45:31but it was also quite breathtakingly beautiful.
00:45:34Come on.
00:45:35Feel the burn.
00:45:35You know what?
00:45:36Whenever I do finally end up getting on the treadmill,
00:45:39I never have it this far inclined.
00:45:41No?
00:45:42Why would you?
00:45:43Oh my gosh, hang on.
00:45:45Oh yeah, heart rate's up.
00:45:47It's just there.
00:45:49I can feel it.
00:45:49Quick breather?
00:45:51Okay.
00:45:53We've had moments throughout this whole entire time
00:45:57we've been here on The Amazing Race,
00:45:59pinching ourselves, going.
00:46:01We're in Africa.
00:46:02We're in Africa.
00:46:06We've made sure a few times
00:46:07that we've just stopped and taken it in.
00:46:11Oh my gosh.
00:46:12This is so cool.
00:46:17Let's do it together.
00:46:18Yeah.
00:46:18Yes.
00:46:20Yes.
00:46:21Yes.
00:46:21We got it.
00:46:23We're on a mountain.
00:46:25We're on a mountain.
00:46:25It's very high.
00:46:26Very high.
00:46:27We're unfit.
00:46:28Yeah.
00:46:29But we got it.
00:46:31We got it.
00:46:32Routine info.
00:46:33Make your way to the natural wonder
00:46:35known as The Bridge
00:46:37and search for your next pit stop.
00:46:42There are eight wonders of the world
00:46:43and the Spitzkoppe Bridge in Namibia should be the ninth.
00:46:46Formed more than 100 million years ago,
00:46:48this granite rock spans almost 30 metres.
00:46:53Sculpted by the harsh weather conditions
00:46:55that make this landscape unique,
00:46:57this gravity defying curiosity
00:47:00is the magnificent pit stop
00:47:01for the ninth leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
00:47:05Hurry the last team to check in.
00:47:06Maybe a little bit.
00:47:07Oh, let's go down the hill.
00:47:09The heli isn't just pulled up.
00:47:10Yeah.
00:47:11Should be coming up on your left.
00:47:12Yodelay, yodelay, yodelay.
00:47:15Yeah.
00:47:17Brooke and Adam are our biggest competition now.
00:47:19They just seem to get every challenge,
00:47:21first or second go,
00:47:23and then they're off and racing.
00:47:24Wibbly wobbly.
00:47:26We're thinking,
00:47:27surely this may be the last challenge
00:47:29before we head to the pit stop.
00:47:30Please, let it be the last challenge.
00:47:32Let's just make one last push up this mountain.
00:47:35This is going to be a hard climb.
00:47:37A bit steeper on this one, I think.
00:47:39We'll be all right.
00:47:41We're still a bit ahead of these other teams.
00:47:43We are.
00:47:44Two teams we're in front of.
00:47:45Yep.
00:47:46Every minute counts.
00:47:47We want to win.
00:47:48If we're in something, we're in it to win it.
00:47:50We're racing the clock.
00:47:51We've still got to serve that time penalty.
00:47:54Oh, that might hurt us.
00:47:55Yep.
00:47:56So we just need to get everything done quickly.
00:47:59Yep.
00:48:00Sit and wait.
00:48:01And then we sit and wait.
00:48:03Looks a bit like all the room.
00:48:04Yeah.
00:48:1111.
00:48:12Spotted hyena.
00:48:13Yep.
00:48:14That face, look at that.
00:48:16So we've got two hyenas.
00:48:17We're very much of the mindset of,
00:48:20it's less about winning and more about not coming last.
00:48:23100% honey badger.
00:48:24Honey badger.
00:48:33Happy?
00:48:35Oh, wow.
00:48:37Nice surprise.
00:48:39Appreciate it.
00:48:41Cool.
00:48:43Scale the boulders of the dome to find your next clue.
00:48:47And then what's the hyena?
00:48:50If this is not it, well then my schooling days is done.
00:48:59That's correct.
00:49:00Congrats.
00:49:02Thank you, brother.
00:49:07Scale the boulders of the dome.
00:49:09Come on.
00:49:11There's a clue there.
00:49:15Looks like there's four left.
00:49:16We're second at this point.
00:49:19Hurry, the last team to check in may be eliminated.
00:49:21Let's go.
00:49:22We are still hot on booking Adam's tales.
00:49:25We are in this.
00:49:26Okay.
00:49:30Let's do this.
00:49:31Little zigzag.
00:49:33You're doing good.
00:49:34Yeah, honey.
00:49:35We've got a fine boat.
00:49:36Plan four, don't ruin your race now.
00:49:39I think for a while we were like just hoping to survive
00:49:41and now we're in it to win it.
00:49:45I think that's what the amazing race is about,
00:49:46actually discovering that you can do more
00:49:48than you thought you could.
00:49:49We've got the bridge, it's on this road.
00:49:51I can smell Beau.
00:49:52Oh yeah.
00:49:53You smell and taste him.
00:49:54Only one team ahead of us.
00:49:56Quickly.
00:49:57Go, go, go, go.
00:49:58Hey, Benjamin.
00:49:59So you live here?
00:50:00Yeah.
00:50:01Namibia?
00:50:01Namibia.
00:50:02Namibia.
00:50:03I love Africa so much.
00:50:05Have you been to Australia?
00:50:06No.
00:50:07If you come, let me know.
00:50:08Sure, okay.
00:50:09Yeah, yeah.
00:50:10I'll look after you.
00:50:13Oh my God.
00:50:14I see it.
00:50:15There I see the flags.
00:50:15Yes.
00:50:16Good job, good job.
00:50:17Yes.
00:50:18Oh my God.
00:50:19Oh my God.
00:50:20Oh my God.
00:50:20Oh my God.
00:50:21Oh my God.
00:50:22Oh my God.
00:50:23Oh my God.
00:50:24Oh my God.
00:50:25Oh my God.
00:50:26Oh my God.
00:50:26Oh my God.
00:50:28That way.
00:50:29It does look like it's a little bit around.
00:50:31We may see a bridge.
00:50:33Brooke and Adam are ahead of us.
00:50:35We're pretty optimistic that we can catch them.
00:50:37We may well bloody win this thing.
00:50:40There's a little bridge over there.
00:50:41I can see like a...
00:50:43Oh yeah, that looks like it'd be a bridge.
00:50:45Come on.
00:50:46Teams are coming.
00:50:48All right.
00:50:48Oh my God, here it is.
00:50:52You've hidden him today.
00:50:52Hidden him.
00:50:53He's hiding.
00:50:54Oh, Beau.
00:50:55Oh, Beau, where did you go?
00:50:56We're surprising ourselves constantly.
00:50:59We're good.
00:50:59We want to win this for Rural Aid.
00:51:02Oh, there's another flag.
00:51:03Another flag.
00:51:04Can you hear them?
00:51:05Yeah.
00:51:06Can you see them?
00:51:10Can you see anyone?
00:51:11I don't think so.
00:51:12I think three.
00:51:13You all right?
00:51:14Yeah, hang on.
00:51:15What colour is it?
00:51:16Quick.
00:51:17Oh my God.
00:51:18Oh, what a spot.
00:51:19Wow.
00:51:21Oh my gosh.
00:51:22Oh my gosh.
00:51:26Hello.
00:51:28Welcome to Spitzklubbe.
00:51:30Thank you for having us.
00:51:32It's great to be here.
00:51:34Brooke and Adam, you are the first team to check in.
00:51:37Yeah.
00:51:40At the front.
00:51:41I don't know what's happened.
00:51:43Every time we head to the outback,
00:51:45you guys find your grooves though.
00:51:46We are more comfortable in the bush.
00:51:48We are actually, especially on dirt roads.
00:51:50It's kind of our thing.
00:51:51Hotel up, babe.
00:51:53Oh, I forgot about that.
00:51:54Yes.
00:51:55It's great to see you smiling.
00:51:56Every time I see you, your smile gets bigger.
00:51:58Keep smiling and I'll see you again very, very soon.
00:52:00Dad, no.
00:52:03We're coming first.
00:52:04It's proof that this race isn't just-
00:52:07About one thing.
00:52:08We've always said from the beginning of this race,
00:52:11just don't come last.
00:52:13But now we want to come first.
00:52:14Bye.
00:52:15Love you, mate.
00:52:17Good night.
00:52:18Just another little challenge.
00:52:22Let's see if it's ready.
00:52:25I see Bo.
00:52:30Oh, what a great breach.
00:52:35Welcome and spazzkoppe.
00:52:39Peyton Bridget, you are the second team to check in.
00:52:43Well done.
00:52:46Nice celebration.
00:52:47Just a little nod of approval.
00:52:49It's business.
00:52:50It's business end, mate.
00:52:50It's business end.
00:52:52Sorry, sorry.
00:52:57It was a long, exhausting day.
00:52:59It really was.
00:53:01But to finish second, we're stoked.
00:53:03We're now in the top four.
00:53:05Game face on.
00:53:06Let's get this done.
00:53:08Good job.
00:53:09Well done.
00:53:10Really good.
00:53:10Really good.
00:53:11Keep moving.
00:53:12Beautiful.
00:53:22So now you go to reception.
00:53:25Hello.
00:53:26Hi, how are you?
00:53:28Fine, how are you?
00:53:29Oh, lovely.
00:53:30Welcome to spazzkoppe.
00:53:30Yeah.
00:53:31So reception, this is where you are.
00:53:32Yes.
00:53:33This is where the rest of your group is.
00:53:34Righto.
00:53:37Good on ya, darl.
00:53:37Bye.
00:53:38We've still got to serve that time penalty.
00:53:40So every minute is crucial.
00:53:43There's the marker here.
00:53:44Here's the marker?
00:53:45Yeah.
00:53:47Put your shoes on.
00:53:48Yep.
00:53:49Leave them.
00:53:50Right.
00:53:52The road's like this.
00:53:52Anything can happen at any point.
00:53:54Shit.
00:53:59Yeah.
00:54:00Yep.
00:54:01At the end of the day,
00:54:02it's the team getting to the pit stop together.
00:54:03I've got to push through this.
00:54:05I've got to push through this.
00:54:06Little, little steps,
00:54:07and just get to the end.
00:54:09Enjoy it for a second.
00:54:13Oh.
00:54:15Breathe.
00:54:18Woo.
00:54:21Oh, good.
00:54:24We've got a bit of an energy boost
00:54:25knowing that we're ahead of two other teams.
00:54:28Oh.
00:54:28Make your way to the natural wonder
00:54:30known as the bridge,
00:54:31and search for a bow at your next pit stop.
00:54:32Hurry, the last team to check in may be eliminated.
00:54:34Oh, let's go.
00:54:37No one's here from fourth or fifth.
00:54:38Yeah, we're third, don't be.
00:54:39Third, but.
00:54:40We just need to get here.
00:54:41We know there's a time penalty.
00:54:45And the biggest thing that's differed
00:54:46from my previous idea
00:54:48of what the amazing race was all about
00:54:50is that no matter where you are,
00:54:53you are always in with a chance.
00:54:59Pretty much running blind right now.
00:55:01Do not know where we are going.
00:55:04It's not looking too good.
00:55:07I think we're in last position.
00:55:09No wrecking now.
00:55:10We want to bring the $100,000 back
00:55:12and put it into the community.
00:55:16Head on over to the Fat Boys scene.
00:55:20Yeah, we're third, don't be.
00:55:21Third, but.
00:55:22We just need to get here.
00:55:23We know there's a time penalty.
00:55:27We only have five teams left
00:55:29before the finale.
00:55:30These teams, they might get upset.
00:55:32We've been away a long time.
00:55:34Do you get emotional?
00:55:35Do you cry much?
00:55:38Not much?
00:55:39No, no.
00:55:40All right, let's go see Bowie.
00:55:41Righto, let's go see Bowie, boy.
00:55:48Oh, we've got a team now.
00:55:50That's great in front.
00:55:55Bowie.
00:55:55Here we are.
00:55:57Billy and Oscar,
00:55:58you are the third team to arrive.
00:56:00However, because you did not complete
00:56:03the spitting challenge,
00:56:04you will serve a 40 minute penalty.
00:56:08Time starts now, boys.
00:56:10Please be seated.
00:56:11Careful there.
00:56:12Thanks, mate.
00:56:13You could be out of this great game,
00:56:15the amazing race,
00:56:16because I can't spit poop.
00:56:17Imagine going back home.
00:56:19How'd you go?
00:56:21I was all right,
00:56:21except I can't spit poo, like.
00:56:23That's what got us.
00:56:24Exactly, that's what got us.
00:56:26Poo would be our downfall on the race.
00:56:28And we're just hoping that Thorpey and Christian
00:56:31and them and Logan have gotten lost.
00:56:34Definitely falling behind here.
00:56:37So it's not looking too good at the moment.
00:56:44You know, when times get hard,
00:56:45obviously we think of our family,
00:56:46but we're here to represent
00:56:47and we're in this to win for our charities.
00:56:49We're here to take that $100,000 back to Shrek
00:56:53and put it back into the community.
00:56:55We just got to get out there
00:56:57and have a good red-hot crack.
00:56:59There's always so much that can change
00:57:02in the final minutes and hours of each race.
00:57:06And we watched a lot of good quality teams get eliminated.
00:57:10We need to really focus on what we're doing.
00:57:12We know that we can't afford to make any mistakes.
00:57:15I want to be in the final,
00:57:16not only for myself, but for Christian
00:57:19and to be able to deliver a big fat check to Reach Out
00:57:23and for more people to know exactly what Reach Out does.
00:57:28We're going right up here?
00:57:29Left, right?
00:57:30No, I feel like we're going the wrong way for that.
00:57:44Hello, hi.
00:57:45Hello. Hi.
00:57:48Yes, so currently this is where you guys are.
00:57:51Yes.
00:57:52Yes, don't get lost.
00:57:54Thank you. You're welcome.
00:57:57Now we're on track.
00:57:59Now we're heading off to conquer this dome.
00:58:05Yeah, I know what you're thinking.
00:58:05Yes, he did used to be a professional athlete.
00:58:07Yeah.
00:58:09Great radio host too.
00:58:11Big fan of the show.
00:58:14Thank you, bro.
00:58:17All right, let's go.
00:58:18We're willing to do anything to make it into the grand final.
00:58:21Let's go, Lokes.
00:58:24We've left our family behind.
00:58:26Logan's never spent this time away from his kids.
00:58:30All day, Lokes.
00:58:41Keep pushing, keep pushing, keep pushing.
00:58:44Keep pushing, keep pushing, keep pushing.
00:58:46We're here to show our kids and our community
00:58:50that, you know, if you have a crack, you can get it done.
00:58:53There is more to life than just staying in one place
00:58:56and being happy with what you've got.
00:58:58We've got this last bit to stay in the game.
00:59:01We are not going to lose.
00:59:02We are not.
00:59:04This is not an option.
00:59:07Make your way to the natural wonder known as the bridge
00:59:10and search for a boat at your next pit stop.
00:59:12Hurry.
00:59:13The last team to check in may be eliminated.
00:59:16Lokes, there was one more clue in the box.
00:59:18That means another team hasn't come.
00:59:23These racers have got no respect.
00:59:25You know what I mean?
00:59:26You gotta learn it at home.
00:59:27Look at this.
00:59:28I only got one of these.
00:59:29They can't even get me a bloody spare, Matt.
00:59:31We've got a time penalty.
00:59:33It's a long wait.
00:59:35I'm not a patient person, am I, Oscar?
00:59:37No, you are not.
00:59:38No, it's not you.
00:59:39I know, but I've tried to be a patient person
00:59:42in this race.
00:59:43The moon looks like a pupil, like in the eye.
00:59:48We're rushing to the pit stop.
00:59:54Last or not, shit.
00:59:57I love you.
00:59:58This is what we do it for.
00:59:59Love you too, bro.
01:00:00Sure.
01:00:04Let's go, Lokes.
01:00:06Pit stop here.
01:00:08There's two more teams left.
01:00:10This could be emotional here.
01:00:13Just push.
01:00:14Nearly there, nearly there.
01:00:16Come on, no one come.
01:00:17Come on, come on, come on, time.
01:00:19Go quicker, go quicker.
01:00:20And then we see some movement.
01:00:23Let's go, Lokes.
01:00:25We think, oh no.
01:00:32Welcome to Spetskoppe.
01:00:34Thank you, brother.
01:00:36Bam Bam and Logan, you are the fourth team to arrive,
01:00:40but you are the third team to check in.
01:00:42We good?
01:00:43You're good.
01:00:49So we're safe?
01:00:50You are safe, brother.
01:00:51You don't believe me?
01:00:52I don't trust me.
01:00:53Well, I don't know.
01:00:54You are, you are safe.
01:00:55No, you are safe.
01:00:58No, I've got, I've got nothing for you, mate.
01:01:00No surprises today.
01:01:01You are, you deserve a rest.
01:01:03See you again soon, hey.
01:01:04Good to see you.
01:01:05It's my white shirt again.
01:01:07Bro, you always get a lot of stuff on my favourite shirt.
01:01:12Sorry, Us.
01:01:14A lot can happen on this race.
01:01:16And we're just hoping that Thorpe and Christian
01:01:19don't also make their way up onto the mat,
01:01:20because then we're done.
01:01:25Did you read that sign just then?
01:01:27No.
01:01:28I couldn't read it.
01:01:29I hope it wasn't a left turn.
01:01:35Do you know where we are?
01:01:36Mate, I've got no idea.
01:01:37I'm really hoping we're not the last team here.
01:01:39Billy and Oscar have a time penalty.
01:01:41That could be something that could save us
01:01:43from being eliminated.
01:01:45We're not ready to go home yet.
01:01:48The pressure's on.
01:01:49It's agonising.
01:01:51Slow, like watching paint dry.
01:01:53Yeah.
01:01:54We're just hoping that Thorpe and Christian
01:01:57don't also make their way up onto the mat.
01:02:06Billy and Oscar, please step back on the mat.
01:02:10Come on, Oscar.
01:02:16Here we are.
01:02:17Here we go.
01:02:19Billy and Oscar, after serving your penalty,
01:02:22you are the fourth team to check in.
01:02:24Well done.
01:02:24Still alive.
01:02:25Safe.
01:02:26Still alive.
01:02:27Safe.
01:02:28You don't want to go home, mate.
01:02:29You're not ready to go home.
01:02:30Not ready yet.
01:02:31I ain't done.
01:02:31You ain't done.
01:02:32I ain't done yet.
01:02:33Well done.
01:02:34Well done, mate.
01:02:35It feels amazing not to be eliminated.
01:02:38We thought we were done.
01:02:40Yeah.
01:02:40We were so close.
01:02:41It was a nervous wait, but we're still in.
01:02:43We're top four.
01:02:44Top four.
01:02:52Hello.
01:02:52Yo, how are you?
01:02:53Good, how are you?
01:02:54Everything is closed, man.
01:02:55It's okay.
01:02:57Let's see.
01:03:01Rude info.
01:03:01The dome is closed.
01:03:03Make your way directly to the pit stop.
01:03:04Find Bo.
01:03:05Let's go, mate.
01:03:10When I look back on the time that we've shared together
01:03:12throughout this race,
01:03:14I can see that Ian's been able to show a vulnerability
01:03:19in a way that we probably wouldn't be able to experience
01:03:22as much back home.
01:03:23He's been able to challenge himself physically,
01:03:26mentally, emotionally.
01:03:28We've been able to share in all of that together.
01:03:30And to do that at the age that we are now,
01:03:34you don't get opportunities like that too often.
01:03:37So I'm really grateful.
01:03:42I'll get that.
01:03:43That it?
01:03:44I was going to say, I'll get that.
01:03:45That's okay.
01:03:48We've raced all throughout Namibia
01:03:51and I'm not ready to leave yet.
01:03:53I want to stay in this race.
01:03:54I want us to continue to experience things together.
01:03:58And it hits me that this might be the end.
01:04:05Welcome in Spitskoppe.
01:04:09How are you?
01:04:09Thorpey and Christian, you are the last team to check in.
01:04:14Unfortunately, boys, your time on the race is over.
01:04:18Sure.
01:04:20The race has been incredible.
01:04:24We're disappointed with the result,
01:04:27but we're going to do our best to get back on track.
01:04:30We're going to do our best to get back on track.
01:04:32We're disappointed with the result,
01:04:34but we had a great day today.
01:04:36We've had a lot of great days on this race.
01:04:40And part of the reality, not being able to move,
01:04:44you kind of could see something like this
01:04:46happening as well.
01:04:47So it's disappointing,
01:04:49but there's some great teams that are left out there.
01:04:51Great people.
01:04:52You guys have been best mates forever.
01:04:55Must be sad it's over.
01:04:57Yeah, it's disappointing.
01:04:58There's so much more to go with the race.
01:05:01I think there's four teams left now.
01:05:03New destinations, new experiences for them to experience.
01:05:08I'm proud.
01:05:09I'm proud of Thorpey, particularly today.
01:05:10You really pushed through today
01:05:11and we had a new approach and new attitude
01:05:14and got a lot more out of ourselves
01:05:16despite finishing in last position.
01:05:18It was a positive day for us.
01:05:20So I'm glad to finish on that note.
01:05:23You've been injured for a little bit, mate.
01:05:24You could have left legs ago, but you didn't.
01:05:27We're here for Reach Out Australia.
01:05:29This is for people
01:05:30who are going through mental health challenges.
01:05:33The first place that young people go to is the internet.
01:05:36That's where Reach Out Australia is.
01:05:38And, you know, we reach millions of young people
01:05:40with issues from what may be everyday struggles
01:05:43or challenges to the more serious things like suicide.
01:05:47You know, I wish there was something like Reach Out
01:05:49when I was younger, but I was also here for Christian.
01:05:54I was also here to challenge myself.
01:05:57You've achieved a lot in your life, mate.
01:05:58You've done it all at the top level.
01:06:01It's been wonderful having you.
01:06:03Thank you, mate. Thanks, bud.
01:06:04Thanks for everything.
01:06:06This has been an absolute joy
01:06:08to be able to experience what we have.
01:06:11I'm really grateful and loved it.
01:06:14Thank you, mate.
01:06:15See you, buddy.
01:06:21Next time on The Amazing Race Celebrity Edition.
01:06:25Oh, yeah, baby.
01:06:27Thailand.
01:06:28Let's go. We've got to hustle.
01:06:32The village is completely on water.
01:06:33Oh, my God, you really can't breathe.
01:06:35And with the end in sight...
01:06:37Let me get closer.
01:06:38Oh, I've got goosebumps.
01:06:39..one foot wrong...
01:06:40The boat is breaking down.
01:06:42Oh, my God, I'm all in the day.
01:06:43..will cost the team a spot in the finale.
