In 1982, at the age of 19, Glass began working as a bartender at Hammerjack's Concert Hall and Nightclub. From 1988 to 1992, Glass traveled to Atlantic City to be a card girl at boxing matches and was featured in a Playboy photoshoot about the job. Glass was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 1998. After surgery to remove part of her colon and an ovary, she was given two weeks to live. She was the first person in the United States to receive a new experimental cocktail of chemotherapy drugs. This produced spectacular results. However, the cancer stopped responding to the drugs. Tumor ablation was used to "microwave" the tumors on his liver and he continued to try different chemotherapies for the two years he survived after his diagnosis. During this time he continued to work. He fought for two years before succumbing on August 4, 2000, at the age of 36.
