00:00Madonna is speaking out over the death of her brother.

00:03After news broke that the pop queen's younger brother, Christopher Ciccone,

00:07one of her seven siblings, died at the age of 63,

00:11Madonna takes to social media to share a tribute for her younger brother.

00:16Writing on Instagram alongside photos of the two,

00:19My brother Christopher is gone. He was the closest human to me for so long.

00:24It's hard to explain our bond, but it grew out of an understanding

00:28that we were different and society was going to give us a hard time

00:32for not following the status quo.

00:34She continues,

00:35We took each other's hands and we danced through the madness of our childhood.

00:39In fact, dance was a kind of super glue that held us together.

00:43Discovering dance in our small midwestern town

00:46saved me and then my brother came along and it saved him too.

00:50Going on to detail her bond and shared memories with her brother,

00:54Madonna adds,

00:55My brother was right by my side.

00:57He was a painter, a poet, and a visionary. I admired him.

01:02He had impeccable taste and a sharp tongue,

01:04which he sometimes used against me, but I always forgave him.

01:08We soared to the highest heights together and floundered in the lowest lows.

01:13Somehow, we always found each other again and we held hands and we kept dancing.

01:18And while the two, quote, did not speak for some time over the last few years,

01:23when she found out Christopher was sick,

01:26Madonna adds,

01:27Quote,

01:27We found our way back to each other.

01:29She ends her post with,

01:31There will never be anyone like him. I know he's dancing somewhere.

01:35On October 4th, a rep told People magazine that Christopher died of cancer,

01:40adding that he passed away, quote,

01:42peacefully with his husband Ray Thacker by his side.

01:46E! News has reached out to Christopher's rep for comment, but has not yet heard back.

01:50Christopher was 63 years old.
