@Goccedimemoria64 Anna Maria Pierangeli, nota anche con lo pseudonimo di Pier Angeli nei paesi anglofoni (Cagliari, 19 giugno 1932 – Beverly Hills, 10 settembre 1971), è stata un'attrice italiana attiva anche nel cinema statunitense negli anni cinquanta e sessanta.L'attrice Marisa Pavan era sua sorella gemella.Alla fine degli anni sessanta la Pierangeli era sola, con due divorzi alle spalle e professionalmente in declino mentre i suoi due figli, ancora piccoli, vivevano lontano da lei, in quanto la loro custodia era stata in entrambi i casi affidata ai rispettivi padri. A seguito di ulteriori fallimenti nella vita sentimentale, movimentate controversie con il fisco italiano e crescenti difficoltà economiche, cadde in un grave stato depressivo che determinò un ricovero in una clinica psichiatrica.Per necessità interpretò altri film italiani ed europei di natura commerciale, nei generi western, bellico e fantascienza. Vani furono i tentativi dell'amica Debbie Reynolds e della sorella gemella Marisa di reintrodurla negli ambienti di Hollywood. Il 10 settembre 1971 fu trovata morta nel suo appartamento di Beverly Hills: aveva 39 anni. Il referto medico parlò di "intossicazione chimica" da sovra-dosaggio di farmaci. Per volere della sorella gemella Marisa è stata sepolta in Francia nel cimitero di Rueil-Malmaison, nei pressi di Parigi.

Anna Maria Pierangeli, also known by the pseudonym Pier Angeli in English-speaking countries (Cagliari, June 19, 1932 - Beverly Hills, September 10, 1971), was an Italian actress who was also active in American cinema in the 1950s and 1960s. The actress Marisa Pavan was her twin sister. At the end of the 1960s, Pierangeli was alone, with two divorces behind her and in decline professionally while her two children, still young, lived far from her, as their custody had been entrusted in both cases to their respective fathers. Following further failures in her love life, lively disputes with the Italian tax authorities and increasing financial difficulties, she fell into a serious state of depression which led to her being admitted to a psychiatric clinic. Out of necessity, she acted in other Italian and European films of a commercial nature, in the western, war and science fiction genres. The attempts of her friend Debbie Reynolds and her twin sister Marisa to reintroduce her into Hollywood circles were in vain. On September 10, 1971, she was found dead in her Beverly Hills apartment: she was 39 years old. The medical report spoke of "chemical intoxication" from an overdose of drugs. At the request of her twin sister Marisa, she was buried in France in the cemetery of Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris.
