00:00In the fishing sector in the province of Batanes,

00:03next is the story of the super typhoon Julián.

00:08According to Provincial Fishery Officer Dr. Richie Rivera,

00:12among these are the damaged motorized and non-motorized boats,

00:16as well as the fish cages in the town of Idbayat,

00:19where there is a mass mortality of tilapia.

00:23In addition, Rivera said,

00:25there are boats that need to be overhauled because they have been submerged in seawater for a long time,

00:35so it is expected that they will be able to fund and provide assistance to the affected fishermen.

00:41Rivera also gave the importance of registering fishermen

00:46and their boats to the Municipal Agriculture Office

00:58Senator Sherwin Gatsalian is urging the Department of Information and Communications Technology

01:06to roll out the National Fiber Backbone

01:09for wider public access to free Wi-Fi.

01:15According to Gatsalian,

01:19so that there will be access, especially to those living in remote areas.

01:24In addition, internet access is not expected to be wasted.

01:36The National Fiber Backbone Program is part of the National Broadband Program

01:40implemented by the DICT.

01:43By the time it is completed,

01:45the government no longer needs to rely on third-party providers

01:49for the expected, secure, and widespread use of free public Wi-Fi.
