00:00Hello again and welcome to your latest update from the Met Office. On Tuesday, once again
00:04the brightest weather will be in the north-west, whilst elsewhere early rain will slowly ease
00:09eastwards through the day.
00:11So coming back to Monday evening, the far north and north-west of Scotland should remain
00:15dry with some clear skies. Elsewhere, any heavy rain will soon clear from the far south-east,
00:20leaving a rather cloudy night for many with patchy light rain and drizzle. And further
00:24heavy rain will spread into parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England and north-west Wales
00:28later, giving a wet end to the night here. It will become increasingly windy across Wales
00:33and the south of England by morning, but staying mild here with temperatures in double figures
00:38for some, but cold in the far north with a frost for parts of Scotland.
00:43On Tuesday, the north and north-west of Scotland should remain dry with some sunny spells,
00:47but elsewhere a rather cloudy start with outbreaks of rain slowly easing eastwards, with some
00:53afternoon sunshine for Northern Ireland. It will be windy with some bright spells across
00:57south Wales and southern parts of England, but also with some scattered showers here.
01:03Maximum temperatures will be around 12c in the south, but it will feel cooler in those
01:08strong winds.
01:10On Tuesday evening, we will see most places become dry, with clear skies across parts
01:16of Scotland allowing it to turn cold here. Clouding over though in the far south-west
01:21later with rain arriving through the evening.
01:24Looking further ahead, Atlantic weather systems bring spells of wet and windy weather across
01:29the UK, but that Atlantic air is going to bring us some exceptionally mild conditions
01:35too, especially in the south. So in summary, changeable in the run up to the new year,
01:40but it will become very mild for all of us.
01:44That's all from me. Remember there's always more information on the Met Office website
01:47and you can stay up to date by following us on social media.
01:54Thanks for watching.
