00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your morning weather from the Met Office. For most of us, it's
00:05going to be a cloudy day, outbreaks of rain across the country, but it is mild and that
00:09mild air spreading to all areas over the next 24 hours, the cold air being shunted away
00:14as mild southwesterly winds set in and turning exceptionally mild as we get towards Thursday.
00:20So let's look at the details for this morning. And we can see cloudy across England, Wales,
00:26Northern Ireland, some sunny spells but a frosty start across northern and eastern Scotland.
00:31And as we go through the day, cloud generally pushes north and eastwards through the day.
00:35This area of rain, as it bumps into that colder air across Scotland, could give some snow
00:40over the higher ground before turning back to rain later on in the day. But for most
00:44of us, it will be a cloudy day to come. There could be a few glimmers of brightness every
00:49so often, but in thicker cloud, there will be some outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Those
00:55southwesterly winds drawing in that mild air, temperatures 14, possibly 15 Celsius
01:00across central southern parts of England and Wales in any brighter spells. Still some chilly
01:05conditions across the far north and north east of Scotland here, 5 or 6 Celsius, but
01:09eventually the mild air will move in here. And we can see that as we move through the
01:14evening time, the rain pushes its way northwards. For everybody, a cloudy end to Wednesday.
01:20There will be some outbreaks of rain pushing through into the evening and early hours.
01:23This will turn heavy at times. The odd rumble of thunder is possible too. But with a lot
01:28of cloud cover, it will be a mild night for everyone. Double figures across central southern
01:33parts of England and Wales, above average where they should be during the daytime. Still
01:37a little bit chilly across the far north and east of Scotland, but here temperatures rising
01:42by the end of the night. So cloudy, wet start to Thursday. Outbreaks of heavy rain could
01:47give some local disruption first thing. And then through the day, it stays very similar.
01:51Further outbreaks of rain pushing in from the south west, pushing north eastwards across
01:55England and Wales. Scattered showery rain across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
02:00In between, there will be a few brighter breaks, particularly across Northern Ireland and also
02:04across south east England. And when we get those brighter breaks, temperatures, well
02:0815, possibly 16 Celsius in the south east. And temperatures again above average further
02:13north and west too, 11, 12 Celsius. But with the cloud and rain, it may just be a little
02:19disappointing. Cloud and rain continues for Thursday night into Friday, but then turns
02:24brighter as we go through the day and then turning more unsettled into the weekend. See
02:29you again soon.
