00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Over the coming
00:04days it's certainly going to be turning a good deal colder across the UK. But before
00:08we get there we have got plenty of cloud and patchy rain out there first thing on Monday
00:13morning across central and eastern areas. Further west we have some sunshine to start
00:17the day and that will gradually spread its way eastwards during the course of the day.
00:21However, the Far East probably hanging on to the cloud and some patchy rain for most
00:25of the afternoon. Later on we will also start to see another area of cloud and rain moving
00:30in across the far west of Scotland and Northern Ireland. And for all of us it will be feeling
00:34a little bit fresher but I think in the south we still will see highs reaching around 18
00:39or 19 degrees. So that cloud and patchy rain across the Far East will clear as we move
00:45into the evening and then the cloud and rain across the far north west will just slowly
00:49spread its way south eastwards. So by the end of the night I think the clearest of the
00:52skies will be down towards the far south eastern corner. Elsewhere seeing a mixture
00:57of cloud and some outbreaks of rain. That rain potentially quite heavy in places especially
01:02across Scotland and Northern Ireland and will be accompanied by a strengthening northwesterly
01:06wind. So quite a blustery end to the night across the far north but for most of us it
01:11is going to be a fairly mild night. Temperatures in most towns and cities holding up into double
01:17figures. So as we go into Tuesday morning we start the day with some sunshine across
01:22the far south east. Elsewhere cloud and rain working its way southwards during the course
01:28of the day. Behind it a rash of blustery showers being blown in on a fairly keen northerly
01:33wind and feeling quite cold across the north. Temperatures at their best only reaching around
01:3813 to 17 degrees. Maybe hanging on to something a little bit warmer across the very far south
01:43with highs here at 18 or 19 degrees. Need to watch out for the risk of some very strong
01:49winds and also some persistent rain developing for a time across the northern isles as we
01:53go through Tuesday. But then as we move into Wednesday and Thursday the cold air really
01:58takes hold across the whole of the UK bringing in a rash of showers across many areas. But
02:04then as we move into Friday that cold air eventually starts to get cut off as some milder
02:09air from the Atlantic begins to move in with high pressure also moving in settling things
02:14down as we end the week. But you can find out more about the weather for the week ahead
02:18on our social media channels. But from me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
