00:00Time to go for a walk with a pangolin.
00:05How far do pangolins normally walk in a day?
00:08So it really depends on the pangolin and if they're finding good ants or if they're not finding ants.
00:13So a really good day for us is we're not walking that far at all.
00:18Yeah.
00:19We found some really good nests.
00:20If it's a bad day, sometimes three, four, five kilometres.
00:25So I guess we need to be very lucky.
00:27Fingers crossed.
00:28Fingers crossed.
00:30So this is the beautiful little Nonna.
00:34Nonna.
00:37I'm just going to be a bit quiet.
00:40She's eating some ants now. Can you see?
00:44So she's getting her big tongue that's going down that hole and the ants are sticking to that tongue and then she's licking them up and eating them.
00:58Did you know that a pangolin can eat up to 20,000 ants a day?
01:12So Brooke, do you see how she is smelling everything?
01:15Yes.
01:16Their nose is their biggest sense.
01:18So they use that nose to smell all the ants and then they know exactly where they can dig.
01:23I thought they ate termites because they're all nice and big and everything.
01:27So that's a common belief by a lot of people.
01:31They do eat termites but they much prefer ants.
01:35So it's about, let's say, 80% ants, 20% termites and only termites when they can't find the ants, so in the winter months.
