00:05I mean, sadly we've seen some real tragic incidents in Lancashire where either riders or pedestrians have been killed
00:14by the wrongful use of e-bikes and e-scooters.
00:19We've got a situation now where the power of these bikes goes far beyond what they should be.
00:26People are riding at 30, 40 miles an hour on something that has essentially the brake capacity of a bicycle.
00:34And that can't be allowed on the roads at the moment.
00:38We need stronger legislation. We need clarity. We need more powers for police officers.
00:44We need more bobbies on the beat to be proactive in preventing the misuse in the first place.
00:51We need strong policing to keep Lancashire safe.
