00:00Clive Gunshall, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire. At the moment I've been going
00:05around the prisons within Lancashire at the kind invitation of the
00:09governor's to see some of the great work that they are doing, particularly in
00:13terms of rehabilitation. It's really important to to meet with some of the
00:19prisoners, some of the offenders, to find out what triggered their behaviour to
00:25begin with, what work is going on to ensure that once they come back into
00:31society they don't become repeat offenders. My job is to make sure that
00:39Lancashire is as safe as possible. To do that we do need to work with offenders
00:47and with prisoners, have a look at how we can prevent them getting into the
00:53same circumstances. At the end of the day you know we want to ensure that
01:00Lancashire is as safe as possible, we have as few crime as possible and
01:05understanding the triggers that cause the crime in the first place is really
01:11important. So I've invested in the Violence Reduction Network, they're doing
01:17some great work with tackling offending behaviour and through that strength that
01:24we hope to keep Lancashire safe.
