00:00What's up guys, so the Android 13 update has been released for the Note 20 Ultra.
00:05I'm on the Verizon, you know, locked version, so I just got the update.
00:10I will do a full recap of the Note 20 Ultra with Android 13 once I get a better feel for the phone
00:17as far as performance, battery life, and stuff like that.
00:19So give me like a day or two and then I'll do that video, so be sure to subscribe if you are not.
00:25And yeah, so let's go ahead and jump into, I'll just show you guys the features.
00:29It's pretty much the same stuff on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
00:33So let's go ahead and just start off with the lock screen.
00:36So we do have now lock screen customization.
00:39So if I go ahead and hold down on the lock screen, you can see I can resize the clock now,
00:44which is like I think one of my favorite things now because it used to be like this size.
00:48But now for people, you know, I just like to see a really big clock.
00:52And of course, now you can change the fonts, which is really awesome.
00:55So I like kind of like a thicker font.
00:57And also the colors if you, you know, desire to.
01:02And you can just sort of play around with it.
01:05And you can even, that option right there, kind of like that one.
01:11Like I said, you can just sort of play around with all of that stuff.
01:16But I really like the big clock styles.
01:18You can also access your wallpapers from here as well too.
01:22So it's just very clean.
01:24Also, your contact information is down here now.
01:28So you can go ahead and put that on your phone.
01:31So when people, if you lose it or something, you know, you can have something there.
01:36And also, guys, one thing that I really like here is that I can go ahead and change my shortcuts.
01:42So flashlight, do not disturb is a really good one.
01:45You know, also I can just choose pretty much any application here to get into.
01:50So let's say the calculator.
01:52Let's say if I want to switch out camera for flashlight, you guys can see.
01:59Now those changes are applied there.
02:02So now when I unlock my phone, or you don't even have to unlock it, you see it automatically goes.
02:11So I really like that.
02:13Also, guys, with customization, if you just hold down on the screen and wallpapers and style,
02:19you do have more color palette options as well too.
02:21So it's a little bit more in-depth on your color that you are looking for, which is something that I really like.
02:28So just, you know, Samsung just adding a lot more customization this time around here.
02:34So everything looks really nice and in unison with the wallpaper that you have on your screen.
02:40All right, so one of the next cool things I want to show you here is we're going to go into our phone in contacts.
02:45And then you can now add a background, a call background for any contacts.
02:51So we're just going to click on that.
02:53If you guys saw, we're going to click on that little information mark.
02:58And then we're going to go ahead and click edit, view more.
03:02And you can do this for anybody, right?
03:04So let's say when somebody calls, I want a specific picture to pop up.
03:08So I just click on call background.
03:10And you guys can see I have this one set, and it'll pop up like this when this person calls.
03:17And you can go ahead and do that for, you know, whoever you want.
03:21You can do an AR emoji as well too for that specific person.
03:25So again, another great customization thing.
03:29You can do that for each person, you know, that you want.
03:34So when you get a phone call, you can see that.
03:38I think it just makes the phone and just experience just look a lot cooler, a lot cleaner, stuff like that.
03:44Also, if we go ahead and head into settings here, we do have in battery and device care, you will see now a maintenance mode.
03:54So basically what this is is if you send your phone in for repair to Samsung, instead of having to delete everything,
04:01you just put the device in maintenance mode and, you know, your information will not be able to be accessed.
04:07So that's just an easy way to be able to not have to delete everything and all that stuff.
04:13You just put it in maintenance mode, send it to Samsung, turn maintenance mode off.
04:17Boom, your phone is right back to normal.
04:19It's extremely useful.
04:21You know, if you're like me and you crack screens and you've got to send stuff back and stuff like that, then this will be a great feature for you.
04:28The next thing is when you come into settings, you'll see a mode in routines.
04:32So just to basically sum it up, right.
04:35So choose a mode based on what you're doing or where you are.
04:39Your phone settings will change to match your activity or situation.
04:42So we're going to click on driving.
04:43This is just an example I'm going to give you guys.
04:46So it'll basically change the settings of your phone depending on, you know, if you're driving or not.
04:50So this is asking me to connect to the car.
04:52We're going to just skip that for right now.
04:55And then now you can see the settings that I can do.
04:58Do not disturb calls and messages, none allowed, app notifications, none allowed.
05:03So basically it's trying to minimize the distractions while you're driving so you can have, you know, a better safe driving experience.
05:09And as you guys can see, open an app, media volume.
05:16We can go ahead and mess with that stuff.
05:19How we want our phone speakers, Bluetooth audio, read notifications out loud.
05:23We can go ahead and turn that on, big speed wake up.
05:25So you guys can see, you can sort of play with this.
05:28And as you can see, do not disturb, restrict app usage.
05:33So you guys can see, that's the general idea here is that depending on what you're doing, you can be able to, you know, sort of automatically change your phone settings.
05:43So I think that's really cool.
05:45I think it's really useful.
05:46You can see they have one for sleep, exercise, relax.
05:50And you just sort of set those times and you can also add your own little custom mode as well too and change your phone settings depending on what you're doing.
05:57So let's say if I edit videos right at a certain time, then I can do a custom one.
06:02Hey, I'm editing videos right now.
06:04No notifications, no, you know, XYZ.
06:07So yeah, definitely, you know, check that out, play with it, see if you like it.
06:11So next is the widget.
06:13So again, not too much different from when you like 4.1, but we do have smart suggestions now.
06:19So we just go ahead and add that.
06:21And basically it learns, you know, everything that you're doing on your phone.
06:26So it'll recommend you based on if you use YouTube a lot, if you use the calculator a lot.
06:32So it's sort of recommending based on what I've opened a lot on the phone here.
06:38And remember that you do have stacks that you can do on here now.
06:43So you can create a stack on here, swipe through them.
06:47So it's all very clean.
06:49I think eventually all Android phones are going to end up adopting this.
06:53It basically is taken from iOS is what it's looking like.
06:57I think all Android phones will eventually adopt the widget stacking thing.
07:01It's just an extremely clean and easy way to get to certain widgets and stuff without everything being messy.
07:07You can see auto-rotate widgets, showing you most relevant information.
07:11It'll do that automatically for you.
07:13So yeah, I really like it.
07:15Definitely, you know, check out the widget stacking.
07:18Also in photos, guys.
07:20So I don't know why this took so long, but you can now add watermarks to your photos.
07:26So I don't know why that wasn't there.
07:28Almost every phone has it, but yeah, so you can go ahead and change the font of the watermark as well.
07:34You don't have too many, but you can change the font now.
07:37So when I take a picture, I now have, you know, the font here.
07:45And I can go ahead and like I said, I can customize it a little bit.
07:50All right, guys, one of the next things I want to show you is in settings.
07:53And then we're going to go down to battery and device care.
07:56I would definitely turn on auto-optimization.
07:59So this will just restart your phone and make sure it's running smoothly when needed.
08:04So I would definitely turn this on.
08:07It performs optimizations.
08:09After your phone restarts, you need to unlock it before you receive notifications, stuff like that, just letting you know.
08:14But basically, restart your phone automatically to keep it in the best condition.
08:18Automatically restarts will only happen when you're not using your phone.
08:21So it won't be an issue.
08:24It won't randomly restart while you're using your phone, right?
08:26So you don't have to worry about that.
08:28Also, another very cool thing that I think you guys should turn on is go to advanced features and then go down to labs.
08:36So this is a very cool thing I turned on.
08:38You can turn all of them on, honestly.
08:40But the two ones that I would turn on is swipe up for pop-up view and swipe for split screen.
08:46So if I do two-finger swipe, it brings up the split screen very easily now.
08:53So it's something that I really like there.
08:55And then you can see you can swipe for pop-up.
08:59So now that's there, which has always been there, really.
09:03But that feature has always been there, of course.
09:06Okay, let me just exit out of that.
09:10Yeah, so I would definitely turn those two on here.
09:16And then you also have your full screen split view.
09:19You could turn that on.
09:21And then you also have multi-window for all applications.
09:25And something I'd like to turn on as well, too.
09:27So it'll force an application to go into multi-window.
09:30Like, let's say, for instance, I don't have it on here.
09:35Oh, yeah, I do.
09:36Instagram.
09:37It'll force Instagram to go into split screen.
09:47As you can see.
09:48So you guys see that.
09:49All right, guys.
09:50So, so far, so good.
09:52Performance-wise, it's been really good.
09:54But like I said, give me a couple days to feel out the performance and battery life.
09:59And, yeah, guys.
10:00So this is the last major OS update for the Note20 Ultra, unfortunately.
10:06It's currently, you know, it's going to be in its security patch stages from now on.
10:10What that means is that it will not get Android 14.
10:13It will only get security patches for the next about like two to three years, I believe.
10:17So, yeah.
