00:00I've been asked about the Samsung A54 versus the Samsung S23 a lot.
00:05So, let's talk about these two phones in this video.

00:16Welcome to Esele's Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:19Today's video talks about two very hot Samsung devices,
00:23the Samsung S23 and the Samsung A54.
00:26We're gonna be looking at these two phones side by side
00:29and we're even going to go as far as compare photos and videos I take.
00:34But let's take a step back for a little bit.
00:36We're comparing the Samsung A54, Samsung's mid-range powerhouse.
00:41Certainly a big deal because with this device,
00:43you get a lot of power pack features at a fraction of the flagship cost.
00:49On the other hand, we have the Samsung S23 base version,
00:52the most affordable of the Samsung lineup when it comes to their flagships.
00:57Let's take a look at these two phones a little closer.
01:01So, we have the two phones here.
01:02Obviously, they look very similar in terms of design.
01:05One main thing though about these two phones that you can clearly see the difference
01:10is that the S23 has this matte back which is really nice and premium.
01:15Meanwhile, the A54 has this glossy back.
01:19Both phones are Gorilla Glass except this S23 device is Gorilla Glass Victus
01:26and the A54 is Gorilla Glass 5.
01:29The S23 also features armor aluminum borders
01:33which should be more durable versus the plastic frame of the A54.
01:38Obviously, this phone feels a little bit premium
01:41but this A54 doesn't feel cheap at all.
01:46Not really much of a difference.
01:47They both have good in-hand feel.
01:49As you can see though, the S23 is a little bit smaller.
01:52It's actually the S23 Plus that's pretty much the same size with the A54.
02:00Now, the size difference is more apparent with the screen.
02:03Obviously, the S23 features a 6.1-inch screen versus the bigger screen of the A54.
02:11S23 features a dynamic AMOLED display with 120Hz HDR10 Plus
02:17versus the Super AMOLED display of the A54.
02:21Also, 120Hz with HDR10.
02:25Both have in-display fingerprint scanners.
02:27Both have these volume rockers.
02:30On the side, unlock button at the bottom of those volume rockers.
02:35At the bottom, speakers, USB-C.
02:38You have this SIM tray for the S23 here.
02:40And on the other side is a clean slide.
02:43Up top, you have the SIM tray for the A54.
02:46Now, the A54 also has a microSD slot.
02:50Obviously, because the A54 is a bigger phone, it also packs a bigger 5,000mAh battery
02:56versus the 3,900mAh battery of the S23.
03:00But the S23 features 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging,
03:06and 4.5W reverse wireless charging versus a 25W wired charging
03:12only that the A54 offers.
03:14Again, these two run on different chips.
03:17The S23, of course, is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
03:22That is a flagship chip versus the Exynos 1380 on the A54.
03:27I will say, though, that despite this not being a flagship chip,
03:32it's not a phone that's low or laggy.
03:47Vlogging with these two phones simultaneously, which I assure you,
03:59is not an easy task for someone so easily distracted like me,
04:03but anything for you beautiful people.
04:04Now, obviously, we have two different camera systems on these phones,
04:07with the S23 repping a better system.
04:10But, like, how big of a difference will it make in actual output?
04:15Let's see.
04:18So, for the S23, we're repping that 3x optical zoom
04:31on the dedicated telephoto camera, which the A54 does not have.
04:35So, for this phone, we have wide 1x, 3x, and it can zoom to 10x,
04:42and even as far as 30x.
04:44As for the A54, we get wide 1x, 2x, and a zoom up until 10x.
05:14On the video, the S23 can zoom till 12x, while the A54 can do 10x zoom.
05:42And the difference in quality is quite noticeable at this point.
05:47And that was our look at the Samsung S23 side-by-side, the Samsung A54.
