00:00As a response to the needs of those affected by the Christine typhoon in Sorsogon,

00:04a program was launched by the local government to provide assistance to the residents.

00:09More than 14,000 residents were affected by the typhoon.

00:24The local government of Sorsogon launched the Kasanggayahan Care and Share Relief Operation

00:31to immediately respond to the needs of the affected residents in the area of Sorsogon.

00:37This is after the cancellation of all activities of the Kasanggayahan Festival,

00:42as well as the Patimpalak, in the Miss Kasanggayahan Philippines,

00:46the decision was made to immediately respond to the needs of the flood victims in the areas affected by the Christine typhoon.

00:54Together with the leaders of the Panlalawigan and Local Government Units,

00:59the assistance was distributed to more than 11,000 family food packs

01:04from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office at DSWD,

01:09which was distributed to 14 municipalities and 1 city.

01:13According to data collected from Sorsogon PDRRMO,

01:16more than 14,256 families, or 57,642 individuals,

01:26were affected by the Christine typhoon from 343 barangays in the area.

01:32They were also distributed hot meals to those who were stranded in Matnong and food packs in Pilar.

01:39Those who were stranded by contingents in Sorsogon,

01:42who were part of the cancelled activities of the Kasanggayahan Festival,

01:46were given cash assistance.

01:48Meanwhile, aside from the candidates who were also affected by the bad weather in Sorsogon,

01:54the famous rock band, Parokya ni Edgar, was invited to give a concert.

01:59However, they were stranded here in Sorsogon,

02:02and their being stranded in playing in the rain while not yet traveling was just repeated.

02:07Those who were stranded by vendors from different parts of the country

02:11were also immediately given cash assistance by LGU Sorsogon City.
