00:00Flower farmers in La Trinidad, Benguet, have begun to pick and harvest this week's floral yield amid sustained rains from Tropical Storm Christine.
00:10This week and next week's harvest of flowers will suffice to cover the needs and demand for the Days of the Dead celebration in Meca, Manila and elsewhere next weekend, flower farmers from the area say.
00:25More details from Philippine Information Agency Cordillera, Clint Isvan Totanes.
00:33Deli Pulas, a cut flower farmer, hopes that the tropical cyclone recedes to allow them to deliver flower supplies.
00:56Pulas also said that they were able to avail assistance from the government during weather disturbances.
01:01Marvin Sabela, also a cut flower farmer, shared that the flower supply is enough.
01:06However, they are apprehensive with the threat of another tropical cyclone that is forecasted to enter the country Sunday.
01:13We won't be able to harvest if it's too strong.
01:16Hopefully, the next harvest won't be too strong.
01:23Kagawad Jose Cristino reminded farmers to report incidents immediately to the local government units for them to file and access actions from the Office of the Municipal Agriculture.
01:33If you see a picture of damage, you should report it to the barangay.
01:42Barangay Bajong, dubbed as the rose capital of the Philippines, is among the suppliers of cut flowers in various parts of the country.
01:49They send their harvests as far as Pampanga, Bacolod, Bicol and Iloilo.
01:54They hope that floods in areas affected by Christine will settle to ensure the smooth delivery of flowers in said areas.
02:02Clint Isvan Totanes of Philippine Information Agency Cordillera, Balitang Pambansa.
