00:00The chief executive paid his respects to his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.,

00:05who is buried at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in Taguig.

00:09The highest official of the land reminded the public to always honor those who blazed the trail

00:14to give Filipinos a chance to continue to thrive in a more peaceful and prosperous world.

00:22Exactly 9 in the morning when President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. arrived at his father's grave,

00:30former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr., at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani,

00:34former First Lady Imelda Marcos was also there.

00:38A solemn mass was held at the former president's grave.

00:41The president expressed gratitude to those who joined them in remembering his father.

00:52The chief executive also recalled memories with his father,

01:03which although mixed with sadness, still inspired him greatly.

01:06He also vowed to continue his father's legacy by working to drive development in the country

01:25and improve the lives of the Filipinos.

01:36Marcos, Sr. died on September 28, 1989, and was buried at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani

01:59with full military honors on November 18, 2016.

02:03Meanwhile, the president distanced himself from Vice President Sara Duterte's statement

02:07about his father. When asked if his relationship with the vice president has reached the point

02:14of no return, throughout the day, the situation at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani remained peaceful

02:22with no reported troubling incidents.
