00:00Good evening and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been another
00:04cloudy day for most of the UK and quite damp across the far north of Scotland as well.
00:09This is the satellite image from earlier showing plenty of cloud around, where a few brighter
00:13spells across parts of North East England, but across most of Scotland, lots of cloud
00:17and with some patchy outbreaks of light rain and drizzle in the mix as well.
00:21So looking at the bigger picture, so high pressure is still firmly in charge, but it's
00:24this weak cold front that's going to be giving that rain and drizzles through Friday night
00:28and in towards Saturday morning and introducing some cooler air across the far north east
00:32of Scotland as well.
00:35Back to this evening though, so largely dry but cloudy for most of England, Wales and
00:38Northern Ireland. It's just going to be this frontal system that will be introducing some
00:43more light rain and drizzle, particularly over high ground, where it could be quite
00:46murky across parts of Scotland to start Saturday morning.
00:51Temperatures though will be mild to start Saturday. We've got temperatures around 10
00:54to 11 degrees underneath that cloud, possibly seeing a few mist and fog patches if you've
00:58got some few isolated breaks in the cloud. But further north in that cooler air, it will
01:03be a chillier start in the far north east of Scotland and it could just about get some
01:07ground frost in some rural spots under clear skies.
01:11Heading through the rest of Saturday then. So again, largely dry but cloudy for Northern
01:15Ireland, Wales and much of southwest England. But that frontal system slowly pivoting around,
01:20giving some light rain and some patchy drizzle through the afternoon.
01:25Temperatures as well, wind picking up across the south coast and across the far northwest
01:29of Scotland as well as we head through the later part of Saturday. Temperatures again
01:34will be fairly mild, at best around 14 or 15 degrees. But with that breeze, especially
01:39along the south coast and the far northwest of Scotland, it could feel a touch chillier
01:43than it has lately.
01:45Heading through Saturday evening then. So there is still a touch of light rain and drizzle
01:49around, but it's going to be a largely dry evening, winds largely light as well. So fairly
01:54fine if you're out looking at any fireworks through this evening.
01:58Heading into the early hours of Sunday, there will be a few drier and clearer spells moving
02:01in and we could get the odd mist and fog patch forming in parts of East Anglia and central
02:06England. Largely mild again, 10 or 11 degrees underneath the cloud. But where you see those
02:11breaks, it will be a touch cooler. Parts of East Anglia could be starting the day around
02:15four or five degrees. Similarly, under clear skies across the far northeast of Scotland
02:20could be starting with a rural grass frost as well.
02:24So moving through Sunday. So again, a very similar picture, largely cloudy for much of
02:27the UK. But we do start to see some drier air moving in from the east. So certainly
02:33parts of central England and further north could see some drier and brighter conditions
02:37through Sunday. Northeast Scotland as well, faring quite well, seeing plenty of sunshine
02:42through Sunday afternoon. Touch more drizzle through Northern Ireland and the southwest
02:47of England through the afternoon, though slightly damper here. Temperatures at best around 12
02:52to 14 degrees. And again, it'll be feeling fairly breezy along the far western half of
02:58Northern Ireland. So that's all from me. If you want to check out any more about this
