The RON95 subsidy rationalisation, which is expected to be implemented in the middle of next year will not impact 85% of Malaysians, says Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
“We hope to implement the subsidy rationalisation with a mechanism that uses the MyKad and e-wallet,” the Finance Minister II said in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Nov5).

00:00Thank you, Mr Prime Minister.
00:03After the 2025 budget announcement by the Minister of Finance,
00:08many parties questioned the lack of knowledge of the T15 group,
00:12which is affected by the government's decision today,
00:16to be excluded from the benefits of oil subsidies, education and health.
00:21This is because, according to the DOSM, the income of 12,000 households is the T15 group.
00:26Does the Ministry of Finance make decisions that are announced in the budget
00:30without referring to data from the ministry or related agencies?
00:34Is this approach considered a breach of MOF?
00:38Does the MOF consider this issue unimportant
00:41to ensure that the revenue, spending and government spending
00:45announced in the budget are the same?
00:47And what about the integration process,
00:49the data base,
00:51the agency and quality data,
00:53the transparency and effectiveness of the whole system
00:56that has cost almost Rp 85 million?
00:59Thank you, Mr Prime Minister.
01:05Thank you for the question, Mr Prime Minister.
01:09As I said earlier,
01:14to determine the stage for the T15,
01:19the government is still in the process of determining the criteria.
01:26Of course, an approach that takes into account all the data that we have,
01:33including the data that we have in PADU,
01:36the data from DOSM,
01:38and also the views that we have received
01:42from now until the time the subsidies are made in the middle of next year.
01:49For that, I think we should always be vigilant
01:56with suggestions, opinions and new data that we receive.
02:04As I said earlier, we will not only depend on the DOSM data in HIS,
02:10but we will take a comprehensive view to determine the stage of the T15.
02:17As mentioned in the budget for 2025,
02:22we hope that we will be able to re-establish the Bronze 95 subsidy
02:28by using a mechanism that uses MyCard and e-DOMPAT.
02:35This will make it easier to determine those who are eligible to receive
02:41and we can unite those who are not eligible to receive
02:46so that the subsidies can be used to further strengthen the country's economy
02:55in terms of reducing new debts
03:00or to increase the use of hospitals, schools and so on.
03:07That is our goal.
03:09For 85% of Malaysians,
03:12it will not be affected by the increase that will come from the re-establishment of the Bronze 95 subsidy.
03:21That's all. Thank you.
03:22Thank you, Honourable Minister.
