00:00The government and the private sector should join hands to provide continuous assistance to those on the brink of calamity.

00:07Here is the report.

00:11The BRP Davao del Sur in Batanes is working tirelessly to provide assistance to the victims of Hurricane Marseille.

00:19It will bring 100,000 kilos of relief goods such as rice, hydrogen kit, materials for house construction,

00:27and other assistance from the various branches of the government and the private sector.

00:33Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. promised the unification of the public and private sectors

00:40so that those on the brink of calamity can be completely helped,

00:43in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s orders.

00:48Aside from the 1,000 food packs,

00:50the Mobile Command Center deployed the Department of Social Welfare and Development

00:56to the areas affected by Hurricane Marseille.

00:59It is committed to providing assistance to the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan, and Cordillera.

01:06Using the Mobile Command Center,

01:08Senior Citizen Estelita is charging her equipment while there is no electricity in their area in Boguey, Cagayan.

01:16It also has a TV and Wi-Fi so that the affected residents can have a communication line.

01:23Aside from continuing to fight the victims of the disaster,

01:27the government is preparing assistance to the possible routes of Hurricane Nika.

01:32Our President's order is to provide quality care, including medical care, especially in evacuation centers.

01:42Other things like clean water, safe housing, food, family packs, hygiene kit.

01:51We have sufficient resources.

01:54We are maximizing on that window so that we can augment the assistance and preposition for the following hurricanes.

02:08We are seeing about two to three more.

02:11After Marseille, we are preparing for that.

02:16Because of the devastating effects of Hurricane Nika,

02:1965,000 people are still remaining in evacuation centers.

02:25We expect Hurricane Nika by Monday.

02:31I think it's okay now, especially for the possible routes that Hurricane Marseille passed.

02:38For now, they are in safe areas.

02:43The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is urging the local governments

02:49to use the Geohazard Map issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

02:55Its target is to improve the preparedness and reduce the risk of calamities.
