00:00The government and the private sector are cooperating in getting help to those affected by the disaster.
00:06Claisel Pardilla of PTV has news for the country.
00:12The BRP Davao del Sur in Batanes is ready to help the victims of the Marseille earthquake.
00:20It will bring 100,000 kilos of relief goods such as rice, hydrant kit,
00:26materials for house construction,
00:28and other assistance from the various branches of the government and the private sector.
00:34Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. has announced the unification of the public and private sectors
00:41so that those affected will be completely helped,
00:44according to the order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:49Aside from the 1,000 food packs,
00:51the Mobile Command Center has deployed the Department of Social Welfare and Development
00:56in the areas affected by the Marseille earthquake.
00:59Its mission is to provide assistance to the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan, and Cordillera.
01:07The Mobile Command Center charges senior citizen Estelita with her belongings
01:13while there is no electricity in their area in Boguey, Cagayan.
01:17It also has a TV and Wi-Fi so that the affected residents can have a communication line.
01:24Aside from continuing to fight the victims of the earthquake,
01:28the government is preparing assistance to the possible routes of the earthquake.
01:33Our President's order is to provide quality care,
01:38including medical care, especially in evacuation centers.
01:42We also provide clean water, safe housing, food, family packs, and hygiene kit.
01:51We have sufficient resources.
01:54We are maximizing on that window so that we can augment assistance
02:02and preposition for the following earthquakes.
02:08We are seeing about two to three more.
02:11After Marseille. So we are preparing for that.
02:16Because of the earthquake, 65,000 people are still remaining in evacuation centers.
02:25We expect the earthquake to pass by Monday.
02:32So I think it's okay for now, especially for the possible routes that were passed by the earthquake.
02:39For now, they are in safe areas.
02:44The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council urged the local governments
02:50to use the Geohazard Map issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
02:56Its target is to improve the preparedness and reduce the risk of calamities.
03:01The Geohazard Map includes a list of barangays that are prone to earthquake, flood, and landslides.
