00:00Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has offered to assist a witness involved in an alleged case of assemblymen
00:08discussing bribes for a project licence.
00:12This is after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said it could not guarantee whistleblower
00:17protection without detailed information about the purported improper conduct.
00:22Lim urged the whistleblower to reach out to him before the parliamentary session ends
00:26in mid-December.
00:29He said he is ready to present the evidence and disclose the names of those involved in
00:33Parliament.
00:34Article 63, subsection 2 of the Federal Constitution grants MPs immunity from legal action for
00:41any words spoken in the course of parliamentary proceedings.
00:46On Friday, MACC officers reportedly met a lawyer who said his client was ready to provide
00:51them with some evidence, but wanted an agreement that the client would not come under investigation.
