Johor police have seized drugs worth RM28.3mil and arrested seven people for suspected involvement in a drug syndicate in what they say is the largest drug seizure in the state this year.

00:00Johor police have recorded the largest drug seizure in the state this year.
00:06They held a press conference on Tuesday highlighting the arrest of seven individuals in a series
00:10of raids where they seized a record high of 28.3 million ringgit worth of drugs.
00:16The area involved is Keluang, Johor Baru and also Iskandar Puteri.
00:24The syndicate used a terrace house in a gated and guarded area to pack and store the drugs
00:35before they were distributed to the markets around the state of Johor.
00:41Initial investigations found that the syndicate could be categorized as a large buyer.
00:49They would buy, repackage and sell.
00:53In addition, the syndicate also processed the juice that contained the drugs for local markets.
01:04Police said they had also detained the syndicate leader, aged 33 years old, during the raids
01:09on November 3rd and 4th.
01:11The detained suspects were also tested positive for amphetamine and ketamine and one of them
01:17had a record of drug-related offenses.
01:20Police said the syndicate had been active since August.
01:23The raiding teams also seized processing equipment, four vehicles, cash, jewelry and foreign currencies
01:30with a total value of about 260,000 ringgit.
01:33The suspects are being remanded until Thursday to help with police investigation.
