A 29-year-old ex-convict, previously jailed for drug offences, has been arrested again for involvement in drug repackaging and distribution.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk M. Kumar, speaking at a press conference at the state police headquarters in Johor Baru on Thursday (Jan 9), said the man was among five individuals detained during two raids.
The operations resulted in the seizure of 96.8kg of drugs worth RM13.5 million.

00:31to store and repackage drugs into powdered drink packets and blister packs for local
00:35distribution.
00:37The raids resulted in the seizure of 96.8kg of drugs worth 13.5 million ringgit, including
00:45nearly 74kg of ecstasy powder, over 20kg of ketamine and other substances.
00:53Police estimate the confiscated drugs could supply more than 350,000 users.
00:58Additional seizures included three cars, a motorcycle, a watch, jewellery, 550 ringgit
01:03in cash and a company bank account containing over 87,000 ringgit.
01:08Commissioner Kumar stated that the group's mastermind and two other suspects tested positive
01:13for ketamine.
01:14The alleged ringleader, who served time for drug distribution in 2021 and was released
01:19in July 2022, is believed to have resumed criminal activities shortly after his release.
01:27The suspects are under remand until January 11th to facilitate further investigations.
01:33Police are also seeking 38-year-old Chang Soo Yin from Malacca to assist with the case.
