00:00The field testing of the Commission on Elections for the Automated Midterm Elections will be held in Arangkada on Saturday in the upcoming Hatol ng Bayan 2025.
00:09Comalec also listed the equipment that will be used for the field testing. Here is the story of Louisa Erispe.
00:18The Commission on Elections is not yet ready for the Hatol ng Bayan 2025.
00:24In fact, the next thing they will do is to do a field test for the machines and the whole system that will be used for the automated elections.
00:33Here, they will know if there is anything that needs to be changed or fixed before the election.
00:38So that we can really see the effectiveness of the machine, especially in transmitting the results.
00:44In the field test, aside from what is currently being done in precincts and remote areas in the Philippines,
00:50the 15 percent threshold for the machines will be tested for the first time.
00:54They will also check if the transmission or sending of votes to the servers of Comalec, Citizens Arm and other stakeholders will be a problem.
01:05The important thing here is to see if the telco companies that will use the machines,
01:10as well as Starlink, are visa-free for areas where signal or communication is difficult.
01:16It is impossible for them to say that there will be an entrance or a change of resort because something is going on.
01:23It is impossible because the CCS is programmed to accept the IP of the machine or the IP address that came from the precincts.
01:31It is clearly seen here.
01:33The field test will be done in 34 precincts in 6 provinces in the Philippines and others in other countries.
01:41Most of those in the Philippines are in remote areas like Tawi-Tawi, Batanes, Palawan, and Davao del Sur.
01:49In other countries, there are in Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and even in America.
01:56For Comalec to be sure that the machines will be ready for the field test on Saturday,
02:01they inspected the warehouse of ACMs in Binan, Laguna.
02:05Comalec said that in total, 85,000 ACMs were delivered in the Philippines
02:11and it is expected that 110,000 automated counting machines will be delivered this month.
02:19Luisa Erispe for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
