00:00More than 3,700 residents of Calapan City and Romblon have been affected by poverty.

00:07They received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, MIMAROPA.

00:12Joshua Sugay of PIA MIMAROPA has a national news report.

00:19The Department of Social Welfare and Development, MIMAROPA has distributed assistance in crisis situations

00:25to the residents of Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro and the province of Romblon

00:29for the residents who have experienced a crisis in their lives.

00:32In Calapan City, most of the beneficiaries are members of the Tricycle Drivers Association

00:38and the operators have received assistance of Php 2,000.

00:41According to DSWD Social Welfare Officer 3 Severina Boongaling,

00:45the distributed assistance will be a help to increase the cost of their daily living

00:51which is severely affected by inflation and other unexpected events.

00:56Boongaling also provided continuous assistance to the programs and agencies

01:00to help disadvantaged individuals and their families.

01:04It is a help to increase the cost of their basic needs

01:13of the families affected by inflation and other disasters.

01:24Evangeline Gaud Alcarez, 48 years old from Calero, and Richard Capule,

01:3123 years old from Baruyan, received assistance from DSWD.

01:37According to the two, this is a big help to their expenses,

01:41particularly to their daily needs.

01:44In the town of Cahidiokan in Romblon,

01:471,750 residents were given Php 2,000 assistance from DSWD from the same program.

01:54The beneficiaries are composed of PWDs, IPs, solo parents, porters, farmers, and fishermen.

02:01In total, Php 7,500,000 of assistance was distributed by DSWD in two places in Mimaropa.

02:09The assistance to individuals in crisis situations

02:14provided by the members of TODA in the town of Calapan

02:17is a proof that through the help and support of various authorities,

02:23the residents will be able to recover.
