00:19On the possible return of Mary Jane Veloso from Indonesia, is this going to continue?

00:26What do you see as the possibility, maybe on a scale of 1 to 10?

00:31Well, we are just taking signals from our colleagues at the DFA, Secretary Kim Manalo, of course the Department of Justice as well.

00:44We look forward to, of course, welcoming Mary Jane back home.

00:53Of course, in the context of whatever decision or judgement will be made in Indonesia.

01:00Again, we will be part of a whole of government team to help Mary Jane.

01:10Already, we have been helping the family.

01:15When Secretary Tuts Ople gave financial assistance to Nanay Celia and the family.

01:26On the welfare side, which is the area of the DMW anyway, we stand ready to provide any necessary assistance.

01:35We could very well see Mary Jane in whatever context of her return to visit her and to see her and to look into her well-being.

01:52Of course, Nanay Celia and the family, we continue to keep in touch and we'll properly provide the necessary guidance and welfare assistance as well to Mary Jane's family.

02:06Sec, what are the next steps when Mary Jane Veloso returns to the Philippines?

02:16I think the context of her return, again, we will have to rely on the advisory or should I say directive of our Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Justice.

02:35I will not try to preempt or say anything in advance of Mary Jane's return.

02:44I know there is a context when it comes to Mary Jane's return in the context of the existing case in Indonesia.

02:56I won't venture into the details if that's okay, Ms. Nina.

03:01Because this situation is in the area of the DFA, the DOJ.

03:08For us, it's the welfare side.

03:09So we stand ready when she returns, we will make an effort to visit her and look into her well-being and provide the necessary assistance to her,

03:20whatever is needed under the circumstances in coordination with the DFA, the DOJ.

03:26And then, of course, Nanay Celia and the family, we always look toward the welfare and well-being of Mary Jane's family as well.

03:37Secretary, has the government talked to Mary Jane Veloso and her family about this development?

03:46I'm not certain on that aspect. I think the DFA and DOJ need to ask along those lines.

03:56But of course, we are in communication with the family, but on the welfare side.

04:02As to the matter on her return, we will have to rely on the DFA and DOJ.

04:08Okay. We understand, Secretary.

04:11So on the welfare side, what is specifically the assistance of your government when Mary Jane arrives here in the country?

04:23Yes, as I said, first and foremost would be a visit.

04:26Of course, in the context of approvals by the necessary authorities and coordination with the DFA and the DOJ.

04:35If she needs anything, we can coordinate this with the proper authority and provide it accordingly.

04:45Whatever the DMW gives.

04:47And of course, the family, as I mentioned, we will keep in close touch with Nanay Celia and the family here in the Philippines.

04:57If it entails having to facilitate or assist the family of Mary Jane to visit her or to see her, then we will do so.

05:06We will assist in that regard.

05:09Message to the family of Mary Jane Veloso.

05:14Yes. To Nanay Celia and the family of Mary Jane Veloso, we will continue to provide assistance and support to you.

05:21We are here to guide and care for you.

05:27Rest assured, we are here to continue the assistance that we provide.

05:36And as I said, it can come in various forms.

05:40Whatever logistical or transport assistance that the family may need,

05:46the welfare, financial and livelihood assistance that we can provide, all of those, we can further provide.

05:55Because we have already provided in the past.
