00:00On behalf of Pambabatikos, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has pledged allegiance to the government of the country.

00:09But the President insisted that this does not mean that he will compromise the rule of law.

00:16Here is the entire statement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:21The statements we heard in the past few days are overwhelming.

00:27There is no need to belittle and threaten the plan to kill some of us.

00:35If the plan to kill a president is that simple, how about the common people?

00:43Such a criminal act should not be allowed to pass.

00:49That is my promise.

00:52As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law.

01:22If the legitimate questions to the Senate and the House of Representatives will be answered,

01:28the truth should not be denied.

01:32I hope that this discussion will end if the oath is still true,

01:37that as a citizen, I will speak the truth and will not be hindered.

01:43Instead of a straightforward answer, we are left with a lousy story.

01:48I hope that these events will end so that the truth will be brought to us.

01:56I have also served 12 years in both chambers of Congress.

02:01I am proud of the power given to them by the people and our Constitution.

02:08Because of this, I respect their work as an independent branch of our Republic.

02:15Even the entire executive branch, all agencies, are not safe and are always under their scrutiny.

02:24As a country, we have many challenges to face and challenges to be solved.

02:32Despite the criticisms, my attention is focused on the government.

02:38But we will not compromise the rule of law.

02:42The rule of law must be obeyed in any situation, whoever is hit.

02:48That is why I will not allow the desire of others to defeat the entire country in the field of politics to succeed.

02:56Let us stop the process. Let us uphold the law.

03:01Let us remember the mandate entrusted to us by millions of Filipinos.

03:07Let us work for the creation of the Republic of the Philippines and for the creation of a new Philippines.
