00:00Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Everton.
00:02Obviously, we've discussed a number of times how,
00:04you know, out of contract to the end of the season,
00:07it's a possible situation where they obviously
00:10haven't lost anything on his return due to the
00:13money they spent on him and his fantastic
00:17return in the few seasons he had for Everton.
00:20But it's no secret that those days are sort of
00:23slightly passed with the terms of the stats
00:25he's put out with injury as well,
00:27coming into it as well.
00:30So how do they sort of go about him
00:32come the end of the season?
00:33Should they sell or, you know, could they use
00:35January to possibly attract some attention?
00:37What's the sort of latest you can tell us on Calvert-Lewin?
00:40Well, as things stand, he'd be leaving the club
00:43for nothing at the end of the season.
00:45There's been a contract there that
00:47Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn't signed.
00:49He was obviously heavily linked to Newcastle last summer.
00:52That deal didn't get over the line.
00:54Yeah, all things are pointing towards a departure
01:00at the end of his contract.
01:02Then, yeah, there is a debate whether Everton
01:05should cash in in January then, because
01:08can Everton afford to lose a player on a free
01:12transfer when they could get, I don't know,
01:15what would he be worth in January?
01:18Depends how much a club would need a striker, really,
01:22and who he would be willing to go to,
01:25because ultimately he could sign a pre-contract
01:27and move overseas anyway in January.
01:29So, does he wait that one out?
01:32Sean Dyches said that he thinks that
01:34Dominic Calvert-Lewin's value is more important
01:37than what they could get in terms of a fee in January.
01:41Well, if he's not scoring goals and his performances,
01:45he was OK in the first half against Brentford
01:47in the 0-0 draw, but if his performances aren't
01:52matching his current values, then maybe Everton
01:57would have a decision to make.
01:59They've got Armando Brozier coming back.
02:02If he hits the ground running, they've got
02:04Eusebio Ciamitti, who's come back as well.
02:07They've got Beto there.
02:09If Everton have options and they start fighting,
02:11then maybe they do look at it and think,
02:13could we potentially look to cash in,
02:15because it would be good for PSR rules,
02:17and we know Everton have still got to meet those.
02:22I think it's going to be a disappointing ending
02:25to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's time at the club, ultimately.
02:30Performances this season on the whole haven't been fantastic.
02:33It's a tough job. He's asked to be fair,
02:35leading the line on his own.
02:36He's asked a lot, and I do actually think in some games
02:41he gets a little bit of unfair flak,
02:43because he does run the channels.
02:45He is a little bit of a battering ram,
02:48but it's just not going in for him at the minute,
02:50and I think if an offer did come in,
02:52then Everton, as Sean Dice could say,
02:54is more important than what the money is valued.
03:00But I think they would have to look at it and think,
03:03should we look to cash in?
03:04Because they don't want a player in the second half of the season
03:08who's already maybe looking towards a new club and thinking,
03:12I don't want to get injured yet.
03:13I don't want to put my body on the line.
03:15I've got a new five-year deal lined up elsewhere.
03:18So that is something that Everton would definitely have to weigh up.
