00:00My name's Karen and I've been going to the hospice now for several years.
00:06And why did you do the calendar? How did you do it?
00:09Well, we like to do different things. We like to do fun things as a group.
00:14And we were sitting one Wednesday morning and we talked about how lovely it would be to do the calendar.
00:21Primarily for fun, but also for the serious side about a body image
00:28and about showing that we're more than our bodies.
00:32And that it doesn't matter if you have scars, you've lost your hair, you're still a person, you've still got worth.
00:39And we wanted to get that message across to other people that they have worth.
00:46What was the best bit about doing the calendar?
00:49The best bit for me was sitting in a motorbike again. I haven't sat in a motorbike for a number of years.
00:54So that was fantastic. But just how much fun we had laughing together.
01:00And just seeing each other outside of the hospice and seeing each other as normal people really.
01:09And just the laughter I think was the best.
01:12And how have people reacted to you being calendar girl?
01:16The reaction's been amazing. I don't think any of us expected the support that we've had.
01:22And just people's reactions to it has been very positive and we're delighted with that.
01:28Amazing. And finally, what's your message to others living with cancer?
01:32That they are more than the cancer. You know, cancer is just a tiny part of them.
01:37And when they can, while they can, just live life to the best that they can.
01:44Live every minute of every day. Enjoy themselves and don't let cancer rule.
