00:00In the province of Albay, this is the strongest gift, especially during Christmas.
00:12Just taste the sweetness, it's delicious.
00:17It's like what my dad used to eat when I was young.
00:22This candy roe is the sweetness of life of a strange old friend in life.
00:36But now, he's able to build a house, bought a motorcycle, and more.
00:47All thanks to their sweet treat, the Molido Candy.
00:54Molido comes from the Spanish word, which means ground.
01:01Here, the main ingredient, sweet potato, will be ground and crushed to become candy.
01:08That's the business that Martin and Princess are working hard on.
01:13We always see Molido Candy during Christmas because it's a dessert, sometimes they make it as a gift, as a gift.
01:23In one week, they were able to sell more than 2,000 packs of Molido Candy, or almost Php 20,000.
01:32But what really started this business were Martin's parents.
01:39But like others, it wasn't easy.
01:44Since I was a kid, we've been doing this.
01:47Until we grew up, we were able to study because of Molido Candy.
01:52Somehow, we were able to support our studies, my siblings, and my hardworking parents.
02:01Before he went to school, Martin helped his parents make Molido Candy.
02:11And then, he learned how to sell it in different stores in their area.
02:19Until one day, he married his childhood friend, Harry.
02:24I've known Harry since I was a kid.
02:26I've played with him for a long time.
02:31Whenever he had a problem, he would often go to Harry.
02:36Sometimes, he would advise me on what our parents would like.
02:45That's why this Christmas, Martin will give a special gift to his friend, his Molido Candy.
02:56He will make it himself.
03:00Of course, we need to clean the sweet potatoes.
03:06We'll cover the pot so that you can start boiling the sweet potatoes.
03:13Within 30 to 45 minutes, just wait for the sweet potatoes to soften.
03:19And when the sweet potatoes are soft, it's gilling time!
03:27In a large pot, mix the ingredients.
03:33Then, Martin will mix it manually.
03:40We flatten it so that we can hold it.
03:43He will also help the princess in preparing the gift he will give to Harry.
03:49We'll let it cool for a few more minutes.
03:51Then, we'll cut it later.
04:01Kawanderers, our Molido Candy is now ready!
04:08Ready to pack!
