00:00Hi there, good morning. It's not the brightest of mornings for most of us.
00:05Some cloud breaks around, but for the vast majority we've seen low cloud
00:10become increasingly extensive across the UK over the last few days.
00:14Yes, much of England and Wales has seen that low cloud earlier in the week,
00:17but over the last couple of days that's spread to much of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:21The low cloud covering the hills, bringing misty conditions,
00:24bringing drizzle as well here and there,
00:26and some more persistent rain into the far north-west by the end of the afternoon,
00:30along with gusty winds.
00:32Either way, five to eight Celsius under that cloud cover,
00:36it's not going to feel very pleasant.
00:38Some brighter interludes coming through from time to time,
00:41Northern Ireland, parts of central north-east Scotland, for example.
00:45Otherwise, it's just generally a cloudy day,
00:48with these outbreaks of rain in the north-west of Scotland
00:50spilling into the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland through the evening,
00:53before generally petering out as it merges into the more general cloud
00:58and drizzly rain elsewhere.
01:01So that by the end of Friday night, Saturday morning,
01:04starts off with a lot of cloud for England and Wales
01:06and some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle,
01:08while Scotland and Northern Ireland are into a north-westerly, showery airflow.
01:14Those showers more frequent across western Scotland than eastern parts of Scotland,
01:19where there will be some clear spells and perhaps a touch of frost first thing.
01:22Saturday, under those clearer skies.
01:25Four to six Celsius where we've got the cloud elsewhere,
01:29and it is going to be a generally cloudy start to the weekend,
01:33but brighter skies are turning up from the north-west,
01:37and certainly for eastern parts of the UK, into the south.
01:40By the afternoon, some decent sunny spells coming through.
01:43Showers easing as well after quite a number of them across western parts early in the day,
01:48but by Saturday afternoon, Northern Ireland and Scotland
01:51end up rather cloudy once again with more persistent rain returning into western Scotland.
01:57But as that rain arrives, it is going to be turning a little milder.
02:01Further south, a reasonable end to Saturday with some sunny spells and eight or nine Celsius.
02:09But the rain in western Scotland, while that's just the start,
02:13it is going to turn increasingly unsettled for western Scotland
02:17with outbreaks of heavy rain through Sunday and into the start of next week.
02:21However, as these Atlantic westerlies return, it's also going to turn much milder.
02:26We'll have more, as always, on our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
